I don't know if this has been asked before and the search thing keep giving me a weird error message. So if it has, i apologize in advance.

Tickling leaves no visible marks and the sensation pretty much goes away shortly after the tickling stops. So why is it that there are models (Sarah Blake and Chanta Rose both come to mind) that move onto more hardcore things? Being caned, which definately leaves marks and must hurt like hell afterwards. Especially in certain vids where there are large red welts.

Is there more pay in more hardcore stuff? I've read that pain can be controlled more then tickling. Does this play a factor in the choice?
The two models i mentioned both have their own companies now. Which obviously pay more then modeling for someone else.

Are you certain they werent doing hardcore stuff before or during their tickling video careers? I know many models in the general fetish business float around between companies for shots

It's entirely possible they were doing both. I've noticed a few that were doing tickling vids back in the late 90's early 2000's and have since had more hardcore titles come out in 05-now.

You know, some people just like pain....just like we like tickling! 🙂

It may be very simple, that they need the work and not enough jobs doing tickling videos are offered to them.

Maybe they feel they need to branch out to a larger market because they have there web sites. Personaly I am not into pain. I don't like seeing people being hurt. A little spanking or paddling is fine, but I like the wiggling and the laughter, and the pleading for mercy. I am not into seeing people (especialy women) being beat or hurt in any way.

Harcore porn pays the most to my knowledge. A lot of people do fetish films just to get their start in the business, to move up the ladder so to speak. Some people over the years, ie Dita Von Teese and guess who, Chanta Rose have said they absolutely HATE being tickled. Beyond that, both Sarah Blake, who has said her aspirations were always hardcore porn, and Chanta Rose have been very heavily into BDSM for a very long time, both professionally and in their personal lives.

To us, tickling is no brainer, but to people just trying to move up the food chain in the business, it may just be an annoyance.

Good point. Those who have moved on maybe did so because they prefer it.

Money makes the world go round as the saying goes.

This was actually something i didn't even think about. I'm definately not into pain either.

You mentioned two of my favorite tickle models in Dita and Chanta. Actually ticklish models seem to be incredibly rare. Which makes the fact both of them have moved on suck for us. Great for them though, more power to them.

I didn't know fetish films were a start off point. Learned something new today!

I wouldn't say pain is easier to control. Nudity pays more than non-nude work. Sexual shoots pay more than non-sexual. But I've never heard of tickling paying less than SM for the same degree of nudity and sexual contact.

You seem to be assuming that they would never do SM shoots just because they enjoy them.

Well, you know how it is. Spend too long in one role and you end up getting typecast.

I didn't mean they wouldn't do something just because they enjoy it. I was just wondering why some moved from tickling to that. Why not just start out in SM shoots if that is what they prefer? Does that make sense?
And some people like both! :beathorse::rockon:

Yes, they do. Some people like a lot more then just pain and tickling too.

True. Though i never really considered that for fetish videos.

It was a joke. Considering tickling videos are largely just bondage videos anyway it's most likely the extra money that attracts them. Plus spanking, caning and stuff doesn't actually hurt as much as you'd think it does.

Several possible reasons.

  • There may be no SM producer close enough to them or willing to pay their travel until they become more experienced.
  • They may not know in the beginning that they'd enjoy doing so many things.
  • Tickling may seem less intimidating as a start.
  • They may in fact do SM video work that you don't see until after you see their tickling work.

@Cavum & BOFH666:

Yes, I know, some like both. 🙂 But what I've been hearing from a lot of hardcore BDSM-people is that they either think it's silly or actually too tough! And, what surprised me the most: some haven't even heard about tickling before! 😕

Sorry, I know I'm being daft but why should that surprise you? I'm sure if I went through some common but lesser-known fetishes then some people here wouldn't have heard of them either.

As for it being silly or too toughh... it's a very VERY different thing to, say, S&M. In S&M play most of the time you're working with physical pain and reacting to that, it's what experienced BDSM players are used to. Sure, there's a mental element as well but that tends (and I'm generalising horribly here) to be more about moving the sub's mental approach into a, well, submissive state. With tickling it's far FAR more about mental 'pain', in that some people do genuinely loose control of their reactions when tickled. To some, heck, most that have such a reaction that is a very very scary proposition, to loose control completely and not be able to get away when every nerve ending in your body screams for flight. There's also a real element of humilation to it (I guess this is part of the silly side) where you do look ridiculous when being tickled and thrashing about. Sure, it can be hot as hell but it's very definately taking the 'lee down a peg or ten.

We put on a demo recently at the BBB in the UK which was basically a room full of about 150 (or possibly more) people into fetishes covering the entire spectrum of kink and it was fascinating to watch the reactions. Very few people didn't stay to the end but you could see a lot of experienced players watching with a look of concern (especially if their dom's were alongside them and taking notes). We had a couple of people up afterwards from the crowd and they really did consider it quite a hard thing to endure. Not to say they didn't enjoy it of course but for those who are used to pain of the flesh tickling is a whole new world...

Hm, I don't know. It just seems so obvious to tickle someone who is helpless. And since BDSM is about finding limits, I just thought that tickling would be a perfect, safe way to do it without leaving marks. 🙂

That vanilla people haven't heard of it doesn't surprise me, but if you are in the BDSM scene, I just thought you would have seen it around. I mean, my being in this scene gives me knowledge about a lot of stuff that I normally wouldn't have!

I've never been told that tickling is too light (which is what I assume you mean by silly). I've often been told that it's a hard limit, even for very heavy masochists.

I think that what this comes down to - both for those who think it's too light and those who think it's too heavy - is that tickling simply isn't a sensation that they eroticize. It doesn't turn them on. If it did, then they wouldn't find it either too light or too harsh.

This is also why so many haven't heard of it (as a fetish - I assume you haven't met many people who haven't heard of tickling in general). Contrary to what many in this community feel is obvious, tickling isn't erotic for most people. Even among the kinky, ours is a fairly rare kink.

I think so too......but there are still people among us who argue that we are mainstream. 🙂

Yes, well, those people might want to consider the implications when even many seriously kinky people have never considered that some might find tickling erotic.

Tickling is often a hard limit for submissives

For the reasons explained very well above, you can find many submissives in the BDSM scene who will not tolerate tickling. Some of these women (and men, I guess) will melt at the thought of being caned until the welts bleed, but adamantly refuse to be tickled.

My observation: in pain play, the bottom/sub can control the experience a lot. When she reaches a point where she needs a short break to let the pain subside, she gets it. Safe/Sane/Consensual is a common BDSM motto. With tickling, when the submissive reaches the point where she wants a break, that's when we ticklers think the play has just begun.

So, I'm not sure it's that models "move on," they may just be more into the bigger BDSM scene and/or finding "easier" work...

Anothe reason to this I think is because "ordinary" BDSM play have more mind play than playing with tickling have. Introducing tickling during mind play on a submissive that is not into tickling can work really well if you do it the right way. I can understand that many say they don't stand tickling, cause there is normaly no "warm up" before it begins (both mentaly and fysical). It's like starting whipping a submissive hard right away without any warm up. Not many can handle that eigther. There has to be a "build up" to the tickling.

An example can be that hogtied video where the girls is both spanked and tickled. Here you can find a nice way to mind play a submissive. She have to choose her punishment. "Tickling or spanking?" the Dominant ask. Works very well 😉

I don't know about the other two girls, but I can speak for myself....

I'm a fetish model that does pretty much the same thing - Tickling, Bondage and SM... I do it because I enjoy it. I love being tickled, I love being tied and I love my pain. I guess it's just how I'm wired. 🙂

I see it more the other way around. I think a lot of today's models had their origins in hardcore and still do hardcore bdsm or porn from time to time. The fact that many models' exhibitionist level was already at it's most extreme makes fetish tickling a tame transition don't you think?
