How did you convince your friend or who you're dating to be tied and tickled? How did the tickle session go?

Every person takes different tactics, some can be swayed by just telling them it's a fun game of grabass, others will do it for cash. Of the friends that didn't take money to sway, some version of "No I swear, it's really fun, let me show you...". I don't hide it's a kink thing, but I make it as casual as possible during the actual sesh. Even when they don't "like it" in the end, it's never ended badly.

Now with dates, I just up and say it gets me off, and I'd like to see if I could get them into it as well.

Convince is the wrong word choice here. Outside of that, start freaking slow. They have to trust and feel comfortable around you. Then try add some tickling and progress. Accept the “no” if one is given. You are looking for enthusiastic consent here.

I’d say find someone already with the fetish or do sessions.

If it's someone you're already dating, I'd just try the 1-second poke in the sides, and see what kind of feedback you get.
Be ready for everything from "I hate that," to them poking you back.
