I hope I'm using the word right. I was just wondering what people thought were some of the most common tickling tropes in tickling fiction/art out there. Thoughts?

There's some stuff out there in this vein. You might give the Tropes & Idioms website a look,.. (just google it).. I've seen plenty of fetish topics covered there. I suppose some of the more common tickling tropes would be in connection to colonial (or medieval) ladies, witches, etc being tickled in the public stocks. The tickling which usually accompanies the "sawing-a-woman-in-half" magic act probably counts as a cultural trope, by now.

Everyone, for any reason, always has a giant pair of stocks just laying about. Sorority house? Stocks in the basement. Forest? Stocks. Boardroom? Someone has a little pair of stocks in their briefcase they can set up in a minute.

Space station? Holy shit, alien life has mastered stocks technology.

Stock Footage Alert

Some years back, Shem the Penman brilliantly summarized tickling tropes in the spot-on "Tickling Story Cliches." If I had ANY scruples as an author, I'd admit that my stories have employed every last one!

The one I think of automatically is:

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!!!!!!!!

I know it hard to represent laughter in a story, but this is one of those things that I always see and don't get. Especially if it goes on for a paragraph. Or two.

One is tickle interrogation. Probably never used in reality but a sure way to break any spy, superhero or villain.

This. Plus, non-stop laughing while they talk.

"OHOHOHOHOHOHO PLEHHEHAHAHAHEAASE STAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAP!!!" etc.

Thanks for that reminder of Shem's take-down of cliches,... I remember it well. While I don't believe that simple literary gimmickry (hahaha) counts as an actual "trope," a lot of the cliches really do.

Farfetched? Perhaps. But I'm not complaining; I'm rather fond of a nice, sturdy set of socks! XD
