Tickling yourself: Sensitivity question

As we all know, many people are not able to tickle themselves. And also as many of us know, there are two kinds of tickling: Light, skin tickling, and firmer muscle tickling.

Now I have a question to all of the people who from time to time might run their fingers down a sensitive ticklish spot of theirs: In the LIGHT tickling sense, is it ever JUST as sensitive as it might be when another person is tickling you there?

I know it's a weird question, like the other one I asked today. I'm doing it for a bit of a project.

I have experienced being ticklish by doing my own tickling, however, it is not all the time and only in certain places

Yes, sometimes.

Light self-tickling is anywhere between non-effective and completely effective, and deep self-tickling is always non-effective.

TMF member NJJen is able to tickle herself (light tickling) and demonstrated this at a NYST gathering in Albany. 😀

I can sometimes tickle myself on my feet - I've never tried to do it for tickling purposes actually now that I think of it, but if I'm scratching my toes or the bottom of my foot, I have to do it fast cause it tickles LOL It just makes me wince and pull away though. I don't think I could ever make myself laugh from it.

I think the concept of not being able to tickle yourself is something of a myth. I personally know at least half-a-dozen women who can tickle themselves (all the time, not just sometimes). Granted, I don't think it's what you could call commonplace, but it's a lot less rare than seems to be "common knowledge."

Well it's already been said, but just from my observation, people can tickle themselves a bit lightly, but really getting themselves going with it, I've never seen.

I'd have to concur with the above statements. It's something like this: I can lightly tickl myself, but it's more of a "I know this would REALLY tickle is someone else was doing it" sensation.

Hi only,
You asked if "in the light tickling sense, is it ever JUST as sensitive as it might be when another person is tickling you there?" My answer, for me personally is this: the spots in which I can tickle myself by touching or tracing lightly are just as sensitive when someone else does it, regardless of who is doing the tickling or tracing of a feather or finger; but the question I see as relevenat is this: does it tickle as much when we do it ourselves versus when someone else is doing it?

My answer to my own question is this: depends, as with mostly everything on who is doing the tickling and under what circumstances. I am certain I am not the only one here that has certain times that she is more ticklish than others and more susceptible to being ticklish in response to one self.

As far as self tickling, when I am in the right mood and frame of mind and the company is conducive to it, I can tickle the hell out of my feet and ribs and laugh and screech out loud, call me a freak of nature if you will but it's painfully true. 🙂

Sometimes I drag my fingernails on the bottom of my feet and massage between my toes because it relaxes me. At most, I'll have a bit of a smile, but I wont laugh.

Now if someone ELSE did that however.....😛

I can do it in a couple spots, very nearly as effectively as having someone else do it (because I know exactly how to do it). I find that I can't keep it up long enough to laugh though, I need more willpower. If I had that willpower though I wonder if I would be as ticklish. Probably not.

I know the feeling and have done this from time to time.... and yes, you do have to be in a certain mood and frame of mind to perform this.... and achieved the same result.... minus the company or any audience at all. Guess we are both that ticklish

If I scratch my fingernails over my soles it does of course tickle, not nearly as much as if someone else is doing it though plus I just can't keep myself from pulling away if I do 'hit a nerv' once in a while. I'm too easy on myself :jester:

I can tickle myself, on my sides and ribs and make me squirm and smile, sometimes laughing.

Yes

YES, it can be just as ticklish if I would tickle myself the right way...and I have. The only problem is that since I am tickling myself, I pull away right away and stop it.
That's why I need to be tied and have someone else do it for the maximum effect.

It tickles when I do my own pedicures... i mean, come on, if you're ticklish like that, when you start using that spinning brush thing... ITS GONNA TICKLE. The only difference is that I can't hold it on those "sensitive" spots for very long... I always stop, someone doing that TO me wouldn't stop. Plus, with me I think its as much a loss of control thing as it is a sensitivity thing. Now if someone else was doing it and had a hold of me... I'd be out of my mind... -and i mean that in a totally GOOD way... :happyfloa

Almost...

When im in the shower I have a hard time washing the bottoms of my feet because it tickles and they twitch. But thats not what im about. I LOOOVE f/m hahaha. I'm a ler.. just... not on myself lol.

I can sort of tickle my feet too. It's not torture because I am in controle of it, but I can deffinetly tell they are sencitive. Think about that next time your in the shower with the head on Ultra Pulse 🙂

Sensitive, yes. Ticklish... not exactly. It's a peculiar combination of a sensation that is, objectively, just as intense as when I'm being tickled, but that doesn't evoke the same physical or emotional reaction as exactly same touch performed by someone else.

That said, I do enjoy running the point of a feather around my neck, under and between my own toes, behind my knees, along my thighs. I think I enjoy the sensation for its own sake, as well as its association with being tickled for real. :cool2:

Heck YES!! I'm not the only one that does that! I've used the tip of a good feather to tickle the bottoms of my own feet and nearly busted up laughing at times!

One morning I started tickling myself just when it was time to get out of bed. Stop tickling me went the cry, but I just wouldn't stop. I pinned myself to the ground and tickled away without mercy. It's alright I don't have to go to work today I thought, but my laughter was becoming hysterical. Thus by the end of the morning I had tickled myself to death. My funeral will be next week, and I will be keeping a low profile. :upsidedow

Good question. I am an extremely ticklish guy sensitive to both light and firm tickling. I can tickle himself lightly in many areas to the point of causing laughter. Although I am very sensitive to firmer tickling administered by others, I cannot tickle myself very much that way.

Yes, it can be just as sensitive for me but not nearly as exciting partly because others who ticke me can restain me, surpise me, keep ticking when I say stop, etc.

If I dig into my sensitive areas, hips, ribs, etc I can definitely make myself jump. The slightly less sensitive ones just bring a smile. 🙂

My ribs are sooo ticklish, that I can make myself laugh and squirm, just like if someone was tickling me. I am a heavy giggler, and can get myself in full giggle. Now for the rest of my tickle spots, I don’t have the same reaction.

I use to have a girl friend that could tickle her feet, just like if someone was tickling them. But her feet were hyper ticklish. You could run your finger down her shoes and she would start screaming; that is how ticklish her feet were.

Aloha, John.
