My parents' divorce.

2. What is one of the hardest choices you've ever had to make?
Deciding to go live with my father for several years when I knew it would be hard on others but probably help him.

I'm sure I have, even if I can't think of when. I don't like the idea, and wouldn't do it consciously, but if I'm not careful my inner manipulative worm comes out and I'm sure I've acted on its impulses.

4. Do you believe that clothes define a person?
I think folks can choose to define things about themselves through their clothes. I don't think clothes make a person. For instance, I dress shabbily most of the time, with little concern for appearance (grey with khakis, eh Mondy? 😛), and that reflects a portion of my personality. Clothes are a window onto a person, but sometimes that window is small, and often it's cloudy and hard to see through. Take what you see with a grain of salt.

5. If you could bring back one trend from the past, what would it be and why?
Returning to a time when everyone wasn't so scared to death of everything.

6. If you could get rid of one sub-forum here which would it be and why?
I don't visit most of them, so I can't come up with a good comment here.

7. What about if you could create one, what would it be for?
A subforum where members may vent by cursing at me. I think it would go over well. 🙂

Each has to care for the other. Without mutual affection, it can only lead to pain for one or both sides.

An unwillingness to learn and change. Be open and inviting, not closed and aloof. Note that I don't have this. 😀

It's been done before, and we've seen me do nothing interesting with it. 😀 I have ideas for a new one, but I need to think of a new and good domain name first.

1. What event happened in your life that made you realize you weren't a kid anymore? I honestly can't think of a single event. I just remember one day thinking that I missed the structure of high school and being able to see my friends everyday.

2. What is one of the hardest choices you've ever had to make? Deciding if I wanted to take the opportunity and be trained in to take over as manager of the store that I work at.

3. Have you ever manipulated a friend to get something you want? No, I don't think have.

4. Do you believe that clothes define a person? No. People use clothes like they use anything else to express themselves and their "uniqueness". Some stand out more than others, but I try to adopt the policy of "don't judge a book by it's cover". 🙂

5. If you could bring back one trend from the past, what would it be and why? I've never been one to follow trends. Though I do wish to go back to a time where we weren't so paranoid about every little thing, where one can go some place and if someone couldn't get a hold you, they didn't panic and assume something bad happened to you.

6. If you could get rid of one sub-forum here which would it be and why? I wouldn't get rid of any sub-forum because each sub-forum provides a place for people to congregate, allowing you to interact and get to know each other. 😀

7. What about if you could create one, what would it be for? Maybe a complain/rant subforum, kinda like Peter Griffin's "What Really Grinds My Gears" type thing, where you can rant and rave about whatever as long as you don't break the GR. 😀

8. What do you feel is one of the most important factors of a good friendship? Being a listener, actually taking a moment to stop talking and open your ears. If all you ever do is talk and never listen, then your friends will never know that they can come to you when they need someone to listen to them.

9. What is one personality trait that you really dislike in anyone? Rudeness. If I say "hi" to you, don't ignore me. If you come to the counter with your purchases, put the fucking phone down. If I saw that you were behind me and I held the door for you, say thank you.

10. You were given your own website to do with what you will. What is it going to feature? My interests, ranging from posting pics of swords, daggers, and knives that I own and that I wish for to my fascination to Greek mythology to graphics that I like.

2. What is one of the hardest choices you've ever had to make? The choice to get up and keep going, even when I felt I could not. Signing the DNR for the one who was closest to me.

Politics and Religion forum, because at the end of the day, no one is going to change their mind or be swayed to think outside of their box, and friendships get ruined in the process. Also, it's nothing more than a platform for pseudo-intellectuals to "flex" their "muscles."

7. What about if you could create one, what would it be for? Spiritual ascension, or a forum to post your musical/other projects.

9. What is one personality trait that you really dislike in anyone? Narcissism. Ignorance. UNDUE arrogance. I like arrogant personalities sometimes, but they better have actual reason to be arrogant.

It would feature frequent video updates of all the mischief I get into: riding around the super-market in the nude on one of the electric carts, smearing poop all over dollar bills, placing it in front of the entrance to a store and videotaping people's reactions when they pick it up, etc. It would also include a gaming/media community.

I really don't think this has happened yet.

See, it's times like this I wish I had a better memory. Such a deep question and all I can think about is what to wear today.

Everybody's probably going to say No to this one but I'm going to be honest and say Yes BUT the term, "friend" is tossed around so much it sometimes is used to describe acquaintances, whom I also consider "friends" based on the fact that we don't hate each other and know enough about each other that we can hang out, get drinks and have fun. In those instances, yes, sure I've said or done something to get something in return but usually after weighing every outcome and making sure nothing of value is lost to the other person.

There are close, close friends though I would never do that with. It doesn't compute in my head how it would even be considered in any form.

Well, Lindsay Lohan looks like shit and so does her clothing line soooo...

5. If you could bring back one trend from the past, what would it be and why?

No idea. What's old? idk.

Nahh. I've never been good at that sort of thing. Plus, I prefer getting things that I want through my own means, even IF a friend offers help.

Hmm... every rule has exceptions, but when I go downtown and see the guy we call "Crusty", who never shaves, wears the same, filthy clothes everyday, and picks up cigarette butts off the ground looking for ones he can still smoke, odds are I can say that he's a homeless man. Then I can see a guy dressed to the nines in business attire, talking on a Blackberry and walking with a purpose, I think it's a safe bet to say that he's probably an important person.

I dunno. Slap bracelets? Hmm... Maybe I'd get rid of skinny jeans and bring back the bell-bottom look. I can't really think right now.

My friends and I do this to each other all the time, but it's never anything serious. It usually concerns what we do on a Saturday night, who drives, what music we listen to in the car, what game we play, what movie we watch, what kind of pizza we order, who has to pick up the pizza... those sorts of things.

Yes. When you can tell a person is trying to define themselves by the clothes they wear, then it defines them as a douchebag. Otherwise no, not at all.

I guess when I graduated from college and got a job and my own place rather quickly... everything went so fast from there and I was like...whoa!! Slow down already! (But I'm still a kid at heart 😀)

Moving back in with the parents for awhile... God love em', but that really sucked (for all of us, lol)

When I was let go from a job in 2007. I felt like even though I had a slight safety net from my parents, that I had to find a way to support myself, and it wasn't going to be as easy as I thought.

Leaving my first job - the school was a mess but teaching the kids was rewarding. I have never really gotten that sense that I was making a huge difference in the same way. And I moved 800 miles away.

Probably, though never anything major. Maybe manipulated them to go to the restaurant I wanted to eat dinner at.

No, but for some people it can be a clue.

When I graduated High School and had to pay my own bills, work full time and take a full load of college courses.

Leaving my last job. I had a ton of friends there and liked the people but there was a better opportunity for me on the horizon to further my career so I took it.

No. I value friendship. I'm sometimes loyal to a fault.

No, but it does give a positive first impression if someone is dressed well as opposed to someone in ratty jeans and thrashed shoes.

Women wearing those tight stretch pants that are cut off just below the calf that show their bare ankles and the shape of their legs. So yummy!

Speaking of trends, is it just me or are legwarmers trying to make a comeback? Quite a few girls were wearing them at the strip clubs in Vegas.

A series of events transpired when I was 16 and snowballed until right around when I hit early 18 or 19. I think it soured my outlook on life enough that I didn't think in "kid" terms anymore.

I thought and thought about this, but I'm not sure I've ever had TERRIBLY hard choices. Everything seems like an easier choice looking back. I guess I'd have to be back in my moments to find out.

I don't do it to friends, but I think my sister might experience that wrath. She wants to go see one movie, I want to see another. In the end we somehow end up going out to eat.

I don't really take notice what people wear unless it's really out there. Then I think, Holy SHIT. What is that?? Usually when guys wear really short jorts. But do the jorts define a man? Probably not.

Ha...ooooooh...I want those jelly sandals back with tons of glitter and shiny rainbow colored swimsuits. My favorite when I was but a wee tot.

I think I'd like to see a subforum specifically for people to write their munch and gathering experiences in. I know there are subforums for gatherings, but you can post a whole lot there. I think people would be more likely to attend if they see what overwhelming numbers of people actually ENJOY them in a condensed place. But it might be silly...I see people all the time posting about how much fun they had.

Well, I think reliability is one factor. Trust is another. They kind of go hand in hand.

Neediness and need for control. I'm just not a fan.

Oh gosh. Uh...I think it would be a site/guide for young adults and teens for how to navigate through extremely troubling areas in their life where parents and loved ones might not know how to help.

The day I became homeless, no money and no job.

Turned my back on one of my best friends who burned me. As it works out, all was made better years later.

Yes. I wasn't always the person I am now.

I never really followed trends, but I go with duels of honor.

Bills and responsibility

To leave everything I've ever known and move halfway across the country to try something completely new.

No. We all might sway decisions now and again to go to a particular place to eat, a movie, etc, but I think the question is more to the nitty gritty of manipulation.

100% no.

Parachute pants, duh! No explanation needed.

I'll preface by saying, I don't have a problem with ANY of the subforums, because if I don't use one, I just skip over it. If I had to question one, I'd ask "why a video game subforum but not a music subforum?". I'm a gamer and like having a video game section, but a music subforum has been asked for repeatedly for years. Either way I'm good.

7. What about if you could create one, what would it be for?
A forum section maybe labeled "Entertainment" with sub sections for Movies, Music, and move the video game section there also.

Trust

i don't think there was one. still kinda feel like a kid; sometimes i'm in shock that i have a real job.

not necessarily the heaviest....but deciding whether i'd go to that first munch was one of the toughest calls in terms of thinking it over and over and knowing i'd decide at the last minute. made the right decision

Honestly, when I was no longer on my parents health insurance when I was 21.

2. What is one of the hardest choices you've ever had to make? Breaking up with Pete, really. It was the hardest decision because I did move everything I owned to AZ but still not be happy.

3. Have you ever manipulated a friend to get something you want? No, I would never do that to a friend. Now doing it to someone I don't consider a friend, then yes. LAWL!

4. Do you believe that clothes define a person?Sometimes, it depends on the situation of the person of course. I know that my clothes define me as a person because I am all over the place with my fashion scene. I dress slightly bohemian, I'm very earthy. I dress slightly pin-up, I am in love with old school pin-up. Sometimes I dress in stuff that I have made myself, therefore I am artsy.

5. If you could bring back one trend from the past, what would it be and why?Bell Bottoms, they were just hot back in the 60's, nice and tight around the thigh but BAM! at the bottom. I think they kind of made some women look a bit more curvy.

6. If you could get rid of one sub-forum here which would it be and why? Relgion and Politics, I just think everyone has strong beliefs and it should be personal instead of advertised.

7. What about if you could create one, what would it be for?Music Discussion Forum, they have everything else but something people can actually just common with that is just simple.

-lol There've been a few, but I'd have to say juggling work, school, a nutcase mom, a dad in the hospital that I hadn't seen in 13 years, and my own mental health. lol

-Moving out.

-If I have, I probably didn't consider them a friend.

-I'm still surprised how there is a Humor forum separate from the Silly Stuff forum (because those things are very different and must be separated), then there's a Sports forum, a gamers forum, and yet... still... no music forum. Boggles my mind.
