There was comment from a top Dr, in an article in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, that claims the US is not ready/equipped to deal with Ebola.

On Jim Gardner's 6pm news cast tonight, they showed extremely tragic clips of victims who are infected with Ebola. It is a horrible disease.

There has been commentary on the subject, discussing the "Wonderful Medical Care" in the US, and how this country can handle the Ebola threat. One can hope so, but, after hearing the commentary on Ebola, and the images I saw on the news tonight, I would say this disease is cause for great concern around the world.

Thoughts on Ebola?

It's all about prevention. Ebola spreads through close contact, thankfully, and isn't airborne, so it's important not to share fluids or things like that. Thankfully, Ebola is treatable, so it's not like there's a sudden black plague on our hands, but being careful is the first step. Remember H1-N1? Stay safe. At least Purell might make some extra cash.

Ebola is a very nast disease I read the book "The Hot Zone". Very scary stuff. In part its why there is a lot of irrational fear on the disease. The disease is a hemoraghic fever which means the victim bleeds a lot. This is why often people think its an airbone disease as the disease is often spread through micro droplets of blood that are released as the victim convulses and/or vomits. The mortality rate can be very high, in 3rd world countries especially. In more developed nations its much harder for the disease to spread usually since better care is taken to prevent blood from those with the disease from contacting those who do not have it. It is unlikely the disease would ever get very far here. That stated its a horrible way to die so preventing it from afflicting anyone should be a top concern. Hopefully a vaccine can be developed so the disease will join the plague in diseases the people rarely ever get.

''Top Doctor: US Not Prepeared To Deal With Ebola'' ...Geez, there's some good news. *Rolls Eyes* That's a horror movie, one that some already face everyday. Everything evolves, and nature gives Ebola a chance to mutate and spread through different avenues. Scary stuff.

Perhaps the Bilderberg Group decided it was time to 'thin the herd' at their last shindig. Watch for Ebola in China next.

As I said in the P&R forum, the only way that there could be a widespread outbreak of Ebola in the U.S is if there was full-scale break-down of society.

I came of age in the 90's. My sense of entitlement is astounding!

If any of you fuckers on this forum gets Ebola, then I want half!
