Two Truths And A Lie

No, I am very sad to report that A) is true. The boy with whom I was fighting had to go to the emergency room and get two stitches in his scalp. My tooth broke off against his skull.

Remaining choices: B) and C)

B) All four of my grandparents were born outside of the United States.

I will guess B
No, B is true.
Both of my father's parents were born in Salonika, Turkey, in 1886 and 1887. You won't find that city in an atlas because after the Greeks reconquered it in 1908, they restored the Greek name of Thessaloniki.
Both of my mother's parents were born in 1893 in Kolomeija, a town in what was then the Empire of Austria-Hungary. It is now in Ukraine.

So, it is still my turn until somebody makes a correct guess.

A) One of my grandmothers lived to age 98.

B) My first summer job was as a check-out clerk in a supermarket.

C) I have a cousin who played professional hockey for the Kalamazoo Wings, a farm team of the Detroit Red Wings.

B is false. My first summer job was in a Shop Rite supermarket, but I was slicing cheese and cold cuts in the delicatessen department.

New game:

A) My second summer job was working as a postal clerk in a post office in a small town in New Jersey.

B) One of my uncles was a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corp, 1943-1945.

C) In 40 years of teaching, I canceled exactly two classes, neither due to illness.

I'll guess C.
C) is true.
In 40 years of teaching, September 1976 to May 2016, I canceled classes twice:
December 1988 to attend the funeral of my Uncle Charles.
April 2009 to attend the funeral of my Uncle Albert.

B) One of my uncles was a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corp, 1943-1945.
B) is false.

I did have an uncle by marriage who was in the U.S. Army Air Corp, 1943-1945, but he was not a pilot. He wanted to be a pilot, but his eyesight wasn't perfect, so he was assigned to be a bombardier.
He got home in 1946, married my father's younger sister, had three children and seven grandchildren, and died at the age of 101.

A new game. Try to guess correctly this time.

A) I have never been skiing or even to a ski resort.

B) I earned extra pocket money mowing lawns in my neighborhood at age 14.

C) I once kicked what turned out to be the winning goal in a high school soccer game that we won, 2-1.

Thanks...

New game

A) I have worked with highly radioactive materials

B) I have worked with high explosives

C) I have worked with highly infectious viruses.

So the new one is

A) I have worked with highly radioactive materials

B) I have worked with highly explosive chemicals

C) I have worked with highly infectious viruses
