B) I failed my driver's test on my first attempt.

C) I bought my first new car with my own money in 1978.

No, B) is true. I passed my drivers test on the second attempt.

C) was the lie. My first new car was a 1976 Dodge Colt purchased in 1976.

A) By counting cards at blackjack, I won $1200 in Las Vegas in 1985.

B) I have never been ice skating nor even worn ice skates.

C) My favorite non-mathematics course in college was Chinese Literature in Translation.

Kurch is correct. A) is the lie.
I was in Las Vegas in 1985 and I did try my skill at counting cards at blackjack. However, the pit boss spotted me as a card-counter after less than an hour and threw me out of the casino. I had only won $200 by then, nowhere near what A) said.
