[VX Ace] The Laughing Isles

PxU1YvG.gif

Yep, it's time for that jackoff to make another post. The rare and illusive jackoff emerges!

This isn't the post I WANT to give - since I wanted it to be a post full of stuff~ however... better to get back into here.

Alright, so I left everyone with this list of games I hadn't played. Right? Right. But that ISN'T the reason for all this hush hush and quiet and "The Disappearance of Animewatcher". Truth is having lovely 10+ hour workdays tends to kill a lot of time to work on the project. AS SUCH~ The project has been slowed to a crawl. A crawl which I'm trying to get back onto its feet and give it a push to start running again.

Ahem- so yes, there is no hiatus - I am just falling in and out of lurker mode and doing my little vanishing act like I've done before (man I'm bad. SO bad).

Now for some other news- One of my best buds began working with me, and I finally told him about my tickle life. Turns out he was really curious and wanted to see more. When I told him about my game, he freaked. In a GOOD way. In a "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!? DUDE! AWESOME" sort of way. So now he is playing it, and now I've converted a non-tickle lover into...a TICKLE FETISHIST! MWAHAHAHA! So I've got him giving me feedback on the game directly as well.

But because of him, I've got even more things in the pipeline for you all. In the meantime, he helped show me some bugs that had happened... -points above- that I see some of you are experiencing.

SO!

I've updated the main post with a new link to an updated game. Enjoy! And for those who don't wanna look:

The Laughing Isles v1.9
[REDACTED] See later post

As you can see, still working on the game. BUT I hope to post soon a nice...well..MEGAPOST of stuff for you all. Will it be the finished Part 2? No. No sir. That is...if I had to give a number...only between 25% - 30% finished. It will, however, give some good stuff to rewet everyone's appetites.

So thank you all for continuing to support, review, discuss, and hold out hope for the game. As the Soul Calibur motto goes: "The Legend Will Never Die". Terribly sorry I've been so quiet and separated from the community. And for all you other game designers - I SHALL give you all valuable critiques soon too. Since I've played all your games. So YES! Trying to turn this stuff around.

AW...my patients is legendary...still foolishly believe that ToG will be completed. Glad you are keeping yourself busy with work. Good stuff bro.

Going to have to say, not a fan of sendspace as a hosting choice. The download is not the game itself, but an exe for a downloader that
1. asks if I want to install adware, using the shady practice of requesting a user to click continue to agree to the installation, or decline to proceed to the downloading of their files
2. Gives a popup that asks if I'm sure I don't want adware, and to hit ok to install it and cancel to continue with my download
3. Asks permission for different adware the same way
4. Installs the adware regardless of my refusal
5. closes all browsers to finish the adware installation without asking permission/warning me
6. finally starts downloading the actual file I wanted
7. tells me I have a firewall issue and the download failed

The adware installed puts its own ads on website you visit, while providing no benefits. Even shadier, one of the pieces of adware installed on both chrome and firefox is called "youtube adblocker", which doesn't block ads at all, to pass itself off as a legitimate extension.

Then I saw your final picture, and leaped from my chair shouting "AHA I KNEW IT, IT WAS A ZERO PUNCTUATION REFERENCE!!!!!!!!"

Yay! Someone got my reference!

So YES! Trying to turn this stuff around.

All hail the mighty jackoff, and his ability to sway ignorant minds as well as persist with hope in the direst of dreary circumstances. The powers of the Creator pale in comparison to his.

In all seriousness though, it's good to hear that you're wanting to make a one-eighty and are looking to do so. Developing a game while also holding down a job with hours like that is the kind of Herculean feat that puts me in awe of what you do. That your brain doesn't wear out is a testament to your dedication, and it makes me happy to see you continue to try. And congrats on turning your friend. 🙂

Remember what Yoda says. "Do. Or do not. There is no try."

Heh, don't worry, I'm keeping faith that you'll finish the game one of these days.

Lol one of these days I just might. Of course, by then the world might have collapsed due to the destruction of the internet. :lol

AW...my patients is legendary...still foolishly believe that ToG will be completed. Glad you are keeping yourself busy with work. Good stuff bro.

That...might be a bit foolish - but continue to believe in me and have patience! For if I end it...it shall be HALF the game I end it, not a partial bit. Therefore I beat ToG in completion-ess MWAHAHA!
Keeping myself busy isn't exactly helping the creation of the game. So yay to work but erk to TLI.

Mediafire is a much better choice.

Did you...Did you guys not uncheck the thing before you downloaded? Like, right before the download? The checkbox right underneath the big blue Download button that says "Download with sendspace accelerator and get recommended offers."? Because, if you uncheck that...you won't get any adware...:blink

But yes, Mediafire is better. Mediafire is also not going to be used atm. Why? Because I WAS using Mediafire for both the main game and the demo. Now, both files have been marked as Private by Mediafire, I have 2 strikes on my account, and warnings because I have broken the TOS by sharing my links on pornographic sites. So yes. Mediafire is currently on the backburner of things to use. If you can recommend another free to use one that would be worth it, let me know.

I've been told by my friends that I am a "Machine" with how I work (and on little sleep many times). So either I'm drawing my energy from some hidden elemental plane, or I'm knocking off years of my life for every hour of sleep I miss :lol
But thanks. I am really happy people are still playing my game AND looking at this thread. And I'm even MORE glad that TT wasn't lost, because ALLLL these games and ALLLL of you would have been lost to the void that is the interwebs. And it would've sucked to try and find each and every one of you again.

Well crap. If they consider Tickletheater to be as pornographic as any other website, I guess we'll have to use some other upload website.

I didn't check a single one of these, but here you go. A list of file sharing websites. Enjoy.

Would if I could, but I can't, as attached will testify. Strangely it works on chrome, so I guess I have an addon the somehow disables it. But it's neither noscript or adblock, so I'm out of ideas.

You could try mega, the successor to megaupload. https://mega.co.nz/

Gotta say, I'm loving the game so far and I only have to petty complaints.
First of all the prospect of their being so many missables gives me a heart attack whenever I leave an area and I can't say I enjoy that. Secondly I wish there was a surrender option so I could see the Game Over scene 🙂
Petty right?

Well.. The missables are there for the explorers and replay value.
As for the game overs, you can obtain a lovely little box after completing the starting area. Go back to town, and behind the church you will find a suspicious fellow. Talk to him. He will give you a box.
Save first, then use it. You will get the general idea. And it can, of course, be used in combat too.

Or wait.. I think you had to at least finish the training for him to be there. Might be that you have to leave town once. Can't remember 😛
It's there early! That's all I can say. xD

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, so that's what the box was for! I've opened it before and wondered what it was for, silly me.

Dammit!

DAMMIT!! You beat me to it.. As soon as I read your comment, I took a flying LEAP for the comment box. Then I saw you already got an answer.

Dammit... that was gonna be my moment... you buzzkill...

Hey, you're not getting rid of us that easy. 😛 And don't worry, I'm sure the forces of the world itself are investing you with this abnormal yet useful insomnia. I would expect nothing less. So glad to have you around!
