WARNING for pett owners!

Have they given the names of any brands yet??

I do believe IAMs is one but am not sure about that!!!!

Is there any god damned food that is NOT being recalled?

Some religious group will say it is the devil or wrath of God or some shit.

Holy crap Ann! :ermm:
Years ago, one of the vets advised against feeding my animals any type of wet food ever. I'm glad now I took the advice...
And the last time I was in for my little fatboy Opus (he's a Maine coon) the vet who treated him said IAMS made her cats gain too much weight~so I switched to Hills.
XOXO

I mix it up a little for my baby!!! He likes Mighty Dog and Alpo the best!!!! I also feed him dry food! (he's not so wild about that)

Thanks for the heads up!

Wow, I had no idea.
Thanks for the warning. We buy Wegman's, one of the recalls, for our kitties.
With our older one having heart troubles these days, the last thing he needs is a bum can of food.
Will definetly keep an eye out for more of them.

If you go to the link I posted and click on either dog or cat food, there are lists for both.

hmm cnn posted a link of the foods involved...i'm beginning to suspect something fishy going on here...terrorists know how much we adore our pets...and it was our own food before...god how can anyone do that to an innocent pet? my cat eats whiskas dry food...so far so good..

No Izzy, the islamic terrorists aren't trying to overthrow the American Devils by killing our cats.

hmm i suppose not...put in that clarity ya i guess i made a silly suggestion..but i thought maybe by hitting everything we loved..including our pets..just a thought, don't mind me..i'm delirious today with a fever

This is a horror. A genuine horror. Three weeks ago, a guy at my job lost his cat to a mysterious kidney failure. It took a grand total of 96 hours from fine to put down. It turns out that his family was feeding some of the recalled food to the cat. He's devastated.

We went through a scare ourselves...Tyler's been under the weather. Difference is, he's eating, and not vomiting, however, he's been sneezing and tearing non stop for two days. Luckily it's only an upper respiratory.

This whole episode's been frightening.

While one of the affected brands makes our food, we only give our dogs dry food (plus what we eat 😀) so they weren't impacted by the recall. I really feel for the people that lost pets.

Next time I open a can of wet food, it's gonna have 'Bumble Bee' on the label. Star and Tyler will both think of it as Christmas.

Christ.

When I saw this thread, my mouth went dry. Thankfully, however, my cat's food isn't on the list.

That is a BIG sigh of relief.

PS: Perhapse I might have been reading it wrong, but when I looked at the link, they had something entitled "Menu foods income fund." Am I reading that right? Are these sons of bitches actually trying to get people to donate to their company to help them recoup their capital loss???

Please tell me that I read that wrong.

I MUST have read that wrong...

People are already filing suits. Best advice I can give to a pet owner is watch for signs of lethargy, diarrhea, vomiting. And for gosh sakes, get your little beloved to the vet STAT! Some of the earliest detected victims are already responding well to treatment!
XOXO

Forgive my ignorance but can a class action lawsuit come of this?

My dog is 11 and all I have ever fed her is Iams Lamb and Rice (dry food). The breeder I got her from discouraged me from feeding her wet food

Mrs Knox called me today, and reported that some website is claiming that it's rat poison. No sinister intentions, mind you, what happened was that in the wheat processing plant in China, rat poison was strategically placed on the grounds to cure a rodent problem...and somehow it got into the product.

Or, something like that.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I heard somewhere that our human wheat comes from the same place, too. So I guess that's under suspicion now.

Either way, I'm glad they found the problem.
