We all know everyone`s favorite NFL team is the Cowboys; ...

That is very true. I think this sums us up pretty well:

Raider fans are fair-minded that way. They'll do anything for you if you win, and they'll do anything to you if you don't.

Ther are still Cowboy fans?

Wow.

As a Steeler fan I cannot like the Cowboys...it makes my DNA hurt.

That said, I REALLY started disliking them when I found out they made up the whole "America's Team" thing themselves as a marketing trick.

Please.

Its like Michael Jackson calling himself the "King of Pop"...if someone else gives you the nickname fine, but otherwise :evilha:

Nah, we just look at the sales of NFL merchandise and smile!

Oh...we have five Super Bowl wins too!

Double oh...we have a 2-1 margin over the Cowboys in Super Bowls too.

very nice, let`s examine those shall we

The Cowboys are always at or near the top of Merchandising . It TAKES a Superbowl win for you to jump up there. haha

Some very prestigious financial magazines agree that the Cowboys are one of the most valuable Sports franchises in ALL sports. They all conclude that when the new stadium is complete that there value will be WAY over a billion dollars and they will pass Manchester United as the most valuable franchise ever!

oh one more thing, who won the last time we played in the Superbowl against each other?

The Raiders were number one for three straight years...until the Steeler Super Bowl win. (Although Dallas was in the top 5 the year shown)

Somehow NE didn't take the lead despite winning two super bowls, so a super bowl win is no guarantee of sales.

Also most fans buying their gear say they are interested in football...unlike, say, Seahwak fans.

http://football.about.com/cs/news/a/bl_2003values.htm
How is the value of a sports franchise calculated?

Forbes bases the value of a sports franchise on multiples of revenue. Most teams are valued at four times their annual revenue, but teams that are about to move into new stadiums or are moving into upgraded facilities have their multiple adjusted upward to reflect the added revenue the stadiums will generate.

FORBES FRANCHISE VALUES

Team League Owner Value

Washington Redskins NFL Daniel Snyder $1.1 billion

Dallas Cowboys NFL Jerry Jones $923 million

Houston Texans NFL Robert McNair $905 million

New England Patriots NFL Robert Kraft $861 million

Philadelphia Eagles NFL Jeffrey Lurie $833 million

Denver Broncos NFL Pat Bowlen $815 million

Cleveland Browns NFL Randy Lerner $798 million

Chicago Bears NFL McCaskey Family $785 million

Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL Malcolm Glazer $779 million

Baltimore Ravens NFL Steve Bisciotti $776 million

Miami Dolphins NFL Wayne Huizenga $765 million

Carolina Panthers NFL Jerry Richardson $760 million

Green Bay Packers NFL Public $756 million

Detroit Lions NFL William Ford $747 million

Tennessee Titans NFL Bud Adams $736 million

New York Yankees MLB George Steinbrenner $730 million

Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Dan Rooney $717 million

Seattle Seahawks NFL Paul Allen $712 million

Kansas City Chiefs NFL Lamar Hunt $709 million

St. Louis Rams NFL Georgia Frontiere $708 million

New York Giants NFL W. Mara/P. Tisch $692 million

Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Wayne Weaver $688 million

New York Jets NFL Woody Johnson $685 million

Cincinnati Bengals NFL Mike Brown $675 million

Buffalo Bills NFL Ralph Wilson Jr. $637 million

San Francisco 49ers NFL Denise DeBartolo York $636 million

New Orleans Saints NFL Tom Benson $627 million

Oakland Raiders NFL Al Davis $624 million

San Diego Chargers NFL Alex Spanos $622 million

Indianapolis Colts NFL Jim Irsay $609 million

Minnesota Vikings NFL Red McCombs $604 million

Atlanta Falcons NFL Arthur Blank $603 million

Arizona Cardinals NFL Bill Bidwell $552 million

(Note: I only took the list down to the end of the NFL teams.)

So yes, the Cowboys have a higher "value" but of all the teams with a higher value...only the Cowboys have as many SB wins...and only the Yankees have more championships in their respective sport. So using the logic that the Cowboys are worth more than the Steelers and that makes them better, then Washington is better than the Cowboys.

And yes, Dallas beat Pittsburgh when we played them 11 years ago...barely.

You can always thank Neil O'Donell, he of the lowest INT ratio in the NFL, for throwing two "what was he thinking" picks in that game. Otherwise it may have been a different story. Still, that's water under the bridge ain't it?

valid point on Neil but do we wanna play that game? Then if future Hall of Famer Jackie Smith doesn`t drop the ball in the endzone then the Cowboys win that game. do you remember that?

I knew that one was coming! LOL!

I didn't say we definetly would have won without the INT's. The Smith drop was a heartbreaker,

http://www.mcmillenandwife.com/bradshaw_performance_sb13.html
(Note: the guy is CLEARLY a Steeler fan)

Cowboys fans LOVE to whine about the Jackie Smith drop (which, contrary to popular belief, occurred in the 3rd quarter, not the 4th). It wouldn't have changed a thing, my bruthas. Bradshaw's final pass, a beautiful 18-yard TD dart to Swann that upped the Steeler lead to 35-17, came with just 6 and 1/2 minutes left in the 4th quarter

So Smith TD would have made it 35-24...and maybe the Steelers pay defense a bit better trying to protect a smaller lead.

who quote is that? It makes no sense because everything that happens afterwards obviously wouldn`t have happened.

Oh I have a little insight on matters : If I told you what my last name was you would fall over!

Its a quote for the site above. Again, I agree. You never know what will happen after a play like that...just wanted to make a point that it wasn't the game winning catch. It was a drop in the 3rd quarter when the game was still close and the Steelers wnet on to pull away from there.

Stauback? Dorsett? 😎

I'll take your word for it...you seem knowledgeable enough for me!

I think it would be neat if the Cowboys & Steelers played in this years Superbowl. Then there would be a 6-time champion!

Anybody but New England would be alright......well add the broncos, chargers and chiefs to that list as well.

How about T.O.........he is the funniest - he says he has been misquoted in his own book. OMG and its not even preseason yet.........its going to be a long long season for the cowboys with T.O - good luck with him..........

The guy lives in his own little world. Thanks for the luck because we are going to need it with him!

I got to keep some for my Raiders........Moss, Porter, Curry all fighting for one ball.

Could you just imagine if Moss, Owens & Shockey all played on one team? 😱

The defence would love it...................pretty much they would line up in a bunch formation and take each other out; I can just see it - Moss going deep - T.O trips him - Shockey cleans up T.O from behind, all the while the DB's are looking at each other drinking Gatorade....then the go back to the huddle and blame the QB.

Dallas Sucks!

We will see if you are laughing when your Eagles are in the cellar!!!! :imouttahe

Come on Flock! You know better to mess with Eagles fans. Who is going to throw Owens the ball Bledsoe...now that is laughable. The running game is going to be non existant in Dallas because the line is so old...Good luck getting to the playoffs. And once you start losing listen how Bledsoe becomes what ever it is Owens wants to call him...Yellow, Gay, Lazy, out of shape...whatever.

The Eagles have everyone healthy now and are going back to what worked before Owens came here and that is what Reid knows how to do best. You will see my friend!
