Unless a disaster happens in the next eleven hours, it is official. My mom and I are going home to Lancaster tomorrow, finally, finally, finally! Mom sent her standing oxygen machine to Lancaster earlier tonight, where it will be delivered tomorrow evening, and she has traveling oxygen to make it home tomorrow.
I'll be honest: At times, I didn't think we would make it. As everyone knows, in the past eleven weeks, since I first came up here on May 26th, I had a seizure where I almost died, my mom had an infection where she almost died. We had hospitalizations, setbacks, treatment, reactions, delays, etc, etc. At times, as everyone knows, I've been at my wits end. I was devestated at the constant rollercoaster, and being away from my friends on a regular basis. I've been home only two weekends since May 26th, and not at all since June 19th.
Now, its all over! My mom has said it best. She told me: "Mitch, we have to try and take our minds off my upcoming scans, and just go home and celebrate life". From her mouth, to God's ears. I plan to go home, work, watch a lot of baseball, spend a lot of time online catching up with my friends, eat some good meals, and just try to relax.
Even though I couldnt be here as often as I would have normally liked due to computer limitations, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported me through this ordeal. The support of my friends has been my lifeline.
I should be home late afternoon/early evening tomorrow, after the 3 hour ride. I will be online tomorrow night, God willing, if my computer turns on, after being off for nine weeks.
Mitch
