I'm setting up a web site, and I need to be able to accept credit card orders. Pay-Pal is NOT my first choice, and I was wondering if anyone could
recommend other services that are fairly reliable.

Any information appreciated.

CCbill does many websites I think. Not sure how good they are as I have never used them but aybe you could look them up. 😀

Jump onto Google and search with

credit card webmerchant

individual words, no quotes.

quite a few hits. good luck.

and staying away from PayPal is a good idea.

I have a merchant account

through my bank. It was pretty painless to set up,
it goes through verisign, so it's trusted and secure,
and the rate I pay as a small business is reasonable
(There was another merchant account company
offering 10% lower prices than anything you could
find, but they charged a transaction fee on top of
everything else, and I didn't want to have to pay that)
I pay 2.39% per trans. a monthly fee of.. $15
