Philadelphia Eagles -3 1/2 @ Arizona Cardinals My AFC picks this year have been pretty much spot-on. I haven't picked an NFC game right yet. So, because every bit of logic says Philly, I'm gonna go with the Cardinals. Ever year recently has something weird happen, and this year, I believe it's gonna be the Cards making (and then losing) their first Super Bowl. And then, like the '93 Lions who made it to this game at least, fade back into obscurity. Arizon's offense is beyond question, and now that the D is playing well, they can win this one. Plus, the X factor...70,000 screaming, rabid Arizona fans who never in a million years thought they'd be hosting this game. They will close the roof for this one. And close the door on Philly's season.

Baltimore Ravens +6 @ Pittsburgh Steelers Again, my AFC picks have been good. So, I'm gonna stick with the horse I picked from the start. Do I think it'll be an easy win? No chance. This is gonna be a bloodbath and probably the real Super Bowl. Ok, the Steelers won both regular season games. One was by a field goal in overtime. The other was on a controversial ref call in a game Baltimore was winning. (I'm not saying I don't agree with the call, I do, but just the fact that it even came down to that tells you how close these games were.) Ok, Flacco's a rookie. The other two rookie QB's in championship games (Ben Rothlisberger and Shaun King) lost their games. History not good there. BUT...in the last 25 years, we've had four AFC championship games between divisional rivals (including this one) and the road team won the previous 3. Plus, the Ravens are, what...6-1 in road playoff games now. I think it's all gonna come down to the play of Big Ben. As even punrockergirl said in another thread, he's got a prediliction to not playing well in big games. Or playing superhuman. So, that'll be the X factor. All other things being the same, Baltimore's defense is just that much better than Pittsburgh's, and Flacco's a rookie who doesn't make rookie mistakes. He stays in the p[ocket, takes his hits and knows it's ok to punt. I pick the Ravens, but ain't gonna be shocked to see the Steelers win this close one between the two best teams in the NFL this year.

NFC Championship Game

Philadelphia Eagles -3 1/2 @ Arizona Cardinals 3:00pm ( FOX ) I actually happen to agree with Dave2112 on this game. I believe that because Arizona has seemingly come up with a defense that they can play with the Eagles. The fact that this spread is 3 1/2 seems odd to me as well. Throw out Thanksgiving Day. This team played the Eagles four days after having a tough tussle with the Giants. Not much time to prepare. This time they had the chance to watch and pay attention. If Boldin plays this game that means single man coverage on blitzs. That could ultimately be a great thing for Arizona. Arizona is home and I am getting 3 1/2. Life is good.

AFC Championship Game

Baltimore Ravens +6 @ Pittsburgh Steelers 6:30pm ( CBS ) --- I hate the Ravens. Always have. Maybe it is because they are good. I don't know. I am not exactly the biggest Steeler fan either. But two years ago, the Steelers made me look like I knew what I was talking about. I picked them then, I will pick them now. Give me the Steelers at home and may they score out 800 yards against that defense and shove a football down Ray Lewis throat while they are at it.

As for the BAL @ PIT game...

Pittsburgh wins. Fuck the spread.

That is all I'm saying.

Good luck all.

If your team is still alive, cheer until you can't anymore.

The Eagles have resumed the #1 current team I dislike the most. I want them to fail in the NFC Championship game again!

NFC Championship Game

Philadelphia Eagles -3 1/2 @ Arizona Cardinals 3:00pm ( FOX )

The only time Philadelphia advanced to the Superbowl was when the opposing quarterback couldn't complete a pass to a Wide Receiver. Do take notice that Mr. Roddy White is producing now that he has a competent Matt Ryan instead of Michael Vick & JoeDawg Harrington. Old Man Warner is getting points here?? I can't grab them fast enough! Take the Cardinals in the upset, too!

The most important stat that no one is paying attention to: Turnovers.

Divisional Games with big spreads allow you to TAKE the POINTS!

Oh yeah, I'll say Pittsburgh gives this game away to the Ravens outright.

I'm going against my better judgment (which was awful this year) and picking Arizona. I would take Baltimore without any points. Should be a good AFC Championship. Best of luck to all!

This season has been a long series of unexpected events.

Brady getting injured for the year, Miami worst to first, Indi being 3-4 at one point, the Chargers being 4-8, Tampa Bay's collapse, the list goes on and on.

And I think the outcome will also be unexpected.

They say throw out the game in November, this is a different Cardinal's team. But something screams to me "PHILLY" and its not their fans. Just one of those "meant to be season's" and sometimes, the better team does not win, the team that wants it more does.
Arizona is happy to be in their position, the Eagles just seem hungrier.
My pick....I take the Eagles and the points.

Pittsburgh is almost being handed the Lombardy Trophy. And while they are when playing their best, if all the other teams played their best...Pittsburgh is easily the number one team in the league....something just tells me "If something looks like a sure thing, it isn't." So even though Baltimore will be short handed, has a rookie QB, and should not have beaten the Titans last week and got here with a lot of luck....Baltimore will play out of their minds and its hard to beat the same team twice in a season, let alone three times.
My pick.....I take Baltimore.

So, for me a boring Super Bowl with no one to really root for except McNabb to get his first ring, and TO goes without.
Philadelphia and Baltimore.
