Denver Broncos

Jacksonville Jaguars

Kansas City Chief (Heck, I think the Chiefs will win this one outright...and I'm serious!)

Detroit Lions (Though I would not be surprised if Bradford leads the Rams to their straight 3rd win. He's playing amazingly well on such a poor team.)

Atlanta Falcons

Cincinnati Bengals

Carolina Panthers (No way the Bears will win this one with no running game and no Cutler throwing the ball.)

Green Bay Packers (I badly want to pick the Redskins, but I just can't.)

Houston Texans (I like this matchup, oddly enough, for the Texans.)

New Orleans Saints (If the Saints don't cover then the sky will be falling on New Orleans.)

San Diego Chargers

Dallas Cowboys (It's too important for the Cowboys to lose this one at home. Expect CJ2K to not run wild once again. Sorry Fantasy owners.)

San Francisco 49ers (No Michael Vick? Then no Eagle Pick!)

New York Jets (You know, I want to pick the Vikings, but I feel that this game will not be pretty for them. Moss is an awesome addition but this is the game that he and Favre will use to practice and get ready to win the next three on their schedule. The Jets move up to 4-1. I do think however that there will be points scored on both sides of this one, despite the strength of the Jets Defense...no way they can keep all of Favre's weapons under wraps during the whole game. I see a 31-24 win for the Jets here. Favre's 500th TD on a Deep Bomb to Randy Moss in the middle of the first quarter.)

Just Be Advised:

Because of the injury to QB Jay Cutler the spread has changed as the team favored has changed. The Carolina Panthers are 1 point favorites. All the picks of Carolina will reflect them being a one point favorite. Should the Panthers win this Sunday 21-20, it will be a push. I am sending this to everyone who has already made their pick to their pm box.

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

Denver Broncos +7 @ Baltimore Ravens 1:00pm ( CBS )
The Ravens' aren't a team you want to give up a lot of points with, but so far this season their high points allowed was 17 against Cleveland and that damage was done via the running game, something Denver doesn't have. This could get ugly if the Baltimore D can get some pressure on Orton and force bad decisions.

Jacksonville Jaguars PK* @ Buffalo Bills 1:00pm ( CBS )
Buffalo has to win at least 1 game, and they're at home and its a pick.

Kansas City Chief +7 1/2 @ Indianapolis Colts 1:00pm ( CBS )
KC is the lone undefeated team so I'm giving them some love, not to mention I love the points in this one because Indy's achillies heel is defending the run. Look for the combo of Charles and Jones to have good days.

St.Louis Rams +3 @ Detroit Lions 1:00pm ( FOX )
Call it a gut feeling, ala Leroy Jethro Gibbs, but Detroit is due some karma love. Bradford has been impressive so far, but if Ndamakung SUH! gets ahold of him it could be a rough day for the former Sooner and crew. Plus SJax is nursing a groin issue, look for the Lions to roar at home.

Atlanta Falcons -3 @ Cleveland Browns 1:00pm ( FOX )
Cleveland got off the snide, but Atlanta is the superior team

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +6 1/2 @ Cincinnati Bengals 1:00pm ( FOX )
Cincy is stinging off a tough division loss, but still are a mess on offense other then TO. Tampa has had 2 weeks to game plan and I like Josh Freeman to make a statement, plus I like the points.

Chicago Bears +1 @ Carolina Panthers 1:00pm ( FOX )
Definitely not going to be a good watch for those in the audience, Carolina has to rely on its running game for any offense and the Bears motto this year has been shutting down the run. Tension is brewing on the offensive sideline in Chi-town about Martz not running the ball enough so look for Matt Forte to be heavily involved to alleviate pressure on the ageless Todd Collins.

Green Bay Packers -2 1/2 @ Washington Redskins 1:00pm ( FOX )
Injuries and possibly expectations are weighing heavily on the Pack, but as long as they have Aaron Rodgers on offense and the combo of Charles Woodson and luscious locks of Clay their going to be the choice. Plus Washington mustered the win for Donovan in Philthy, but this offense hasn't impressed me much.

New York Giants +3 @ Houston Texans 1:00pm ( FOX )
Eli rallied the troops behind a vicious defensive line last week to stabilize the ship for now in New York, but the Texans OLine is much better the Chicago's. Matt Schuab will welcome back Andre Johnson and won't hesitate to hand the ball to Arian Foster to the delight of the Texas faithful.

New Orleans Saints -6 1/2 @ Arizona Cardinals 4:05pm ( FOX )
New Orleans' offense has some folks wandering what's going on, but remember Drew Brees is still Drew Brees. Look for them to put the ball in his hands alot so as to not put pressure on that makeshift backfield. Kicker won't be an issue for the Saints this week.

San Diego Chargers -6 @ Oakland Raiders 4:15pm ( CBS )
Yup its October, the Chargers are playing football. Oakland is looking good, but RUN DMC is hurting, and oh yeah Phillip Rivers hates the Raiders.

Tennessee Titans +6 1/2 @ Dallas Cowboys 4:15pm ( CBS )
There's trouble in Tennessee and its causing chaos in that locker room. Dallas had a bye week to mull on their pathetic start and under the bright lights of the JerryDome expect them to not disappoint.

Philadelphia Eagles +3 1/2 @ San Francisco 49ers 8:20pm ( NBC )
Philly makes a long trip West and I can't see San Fran going 0-5 to start the season. Philly is looking weak against the run so new OC Mike Johnson should feed the recently quiet Frank Gore often.

Minnesota Vikings +4 @ New York Jets 8:35pm
As much as the Jets are becoming one of my Top 3 hated teams, Favre still has a place above them. Bringing in Moss gives Lord Favre a viable target no doubt, but that doesn't make him more accurate. Look for Rex and the boys to bring the house with blitzes, early, often, and until Favre breaks or concedes. Randy Moss might quit on this game by the half....

Week #5 Football Pool
Sunday, October 10th, 2010

Denver Broncos +7 @ Baltimore Ravens 1:00pm ( CBS ) I expect Kyle Orton to keep this close.

Jacksonville Jaguars PK* @ Buffalo Bills 1:00pm ( CBS ) Because Jacksonville looks like a Jekyll & Hyde team

Kansas City Chiefs +7 1/2 @ Indianapolis Colts 1:00pm ( CBS ) Let me get this straight...The last unbeaten team is a 7.5 point dog? Yeah, I'm riding the Kansas City train here.

St.Louis Rams +3 @ Detroit Lions 1:00pm ( FOX ) I predict this will be closer than a FG.

Atlanta Falcons -3 @ Cleveland Browns 1:00pm ( FOX ) I don't believe in Cleveland.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +6 1/2 @ Cincinnati Bengals 1:00pm ( FOX ) Cincinnati doesn't scare me enough in terms of covering.

Chicago Bears +1 @ Carolina Panthers 1:00pm ( FOX ) Hunch

Green Bay Packers -2 1/2 @ Washington Redskins 1:00pm ( FOX ) Green Bay isn't that impressive.

New York Giants +3 @ Houston Texans 1:00pm ( FOX ) This number looks like it should be higher in favor of Houston.

New Orleans Saints -6 1/2 @ Arizona Cardinals 4:05pm ( FOX ) Max Hall. That means Matt Leinart must have been really bad.

San Diego Chargers -6 @ Oakland Raiders 4:15pm ( CBS ) Substitute Green Bay for San Diego & you come to the same conclusion.

Tennessee Titans +6 1/2 @ Dallas Cowboys 4:15pm ( CBS ) I can see the refs flagging Dallas early & often.

Philadelphia Eagles +3 1/2 @ San Francisco 49ers 8:20pm ( NBC ) Kevin Kolb. Ouch.

Monday, October 11th, 2010

Minnesota Vikings +4 @ New York Jets 8:35pm I expect this to be low scoring with both defenses playing great.

*PK = Pick... No favorite, no underdog... A point spread of zero.

Byes: Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers , Seattle Seahawks

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

Denver Broncos +7 @ Baltimore Ravens 1:00pm ( CBS )
Kyle Orton has been outstanding so far, but this week its the Ravens D. I don't suspect he will do as well or have as much time to throw underneath. Take the D and Ravens.

Jacksonville Jaguars
PK* @ Buffalo Bills 1:00pm ( CBS )
I don't know what is with Buffalo, they just look terrible. Until they can put a complete game together (this may be the week) I just cant pick them. Jags to win.

Kansas City Chief +7 1/2
@ Indianapolis Colts 1:00pm ( CBS )
Indi may win, but KC will keep it close with their running game and the Colts inability to stop it. The Colts have a lot of issues, this week we see more of them.

St.Louis Rams +3 @ Detroit Lions 1:00pm ( FOX )
The Lions are the best 0-4 team Ive seen. Play every game close and should have won at least one of those. The Lions at 0-4 are better than several teams that are 2-2...and I think the Rams are one of those that I think Detroit is better than.

Atlanta Falcons -3 @ Cleveland Browns 1:00pm ( FOX )
Im shocked its only 3. Falcons play tough all around, Cleveland has its moments but is not as complete of a team as compared to Atlanta. Take the Birds. Then the fans will shut of the TV and head to Turner Field to watch the Braves...as I will be.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +6 1/2 @ Cincinnati Bengals 1:00pm ( FOX )
Cincy...Bungles or Bengals. Last week....BUNGLES. This week they return to being the Bengals. Big day is possible, this may get out of hand early.

Chicago Bears +1 @ Carolina Panthers 1:00pm ( FOX )
Carolina has to win one game. And with Jay Cutler out, this may be their chance. Win one for the Jimster. Take the Panthers.

Green Bay Packers -2 1/2 @ Washington Redskins 1:00pm ( FOX )
Green Bay needs to win this, and win it convincingly if they are to stay in the discussion of a legitimate Super Bowl team. I think they start to pull it together, but Washington hangs in there.

New York Giants +3
@ Houston Texans 1:00pm ( FOX )
Giants are a funny sort. I think they found something last week and it may continue. Houston has its big play man hurting, and the Giants take advantage.

New Orleans Saints -6 1/2 @ Arizona Cardinals 4:05pm ( FOX )
Max Hall vs. Drew Brees. Enough said. Take the Saints.

San Diego Chargers -6 @ Oakland Raiders 4:15pm ( CBS )
San Diego has turned on the engines, and the motor is finally getting warm. Run or Pass the Chargers can do it. Oakland...is....well, Oakland.

Tennessee Titans +6 1/2 @ Dallas Cowboys 4:15pm ( CBS )
Tennessee is not a terrible team, Dallas has issues scoring. I don't think 1 game and a bye week is enough to say that Dallas is finally ready to play at the level most thought and believed they would. Tennessee may not win, but I think they may...if not at least keep it close.

Philadelphia Eagles +3 1/2 @ San Francisco 49ers 8:20pm ( NBC )
NBC is pissed this isn't a flex schedule week. Oh they WERE happy 2 weeks ago thinking Vick on prime-time television. And maybe thinking the 49ers could be 2-2. Well, guess what, Kevin Kolb led Eagles vs and 0-4 49ers. Not the game they would want. But a good thing for the Niners too, they need a win BAD, and I think they will get it.

Minnesota Vikings +4
@ New York Jets 8:35pm
Farve...Monday Night. That is the only reason I am taking the Vikings here. Farve has made a habit of playing out of his mind and body on Monday Night. I think it continues. If not, Farve can message a few ladies to make him feel better after the game.

Rob
