I got this idea from a discussion I was having somewhere else, and thought it would be cool with all of the food connisuers here.

If you had to live on 5 foods, what would they be? We're leaving nutritional logistics out of this, of course, as we all know to eat a healthy balanced diet. right?

Yeah, right....we all do that.

Mine are pretty strange, as I go through "phases" where I eat pretty much the same thing for a few weeks, then move on to another obsession. That being said, if I had to pick 5...

Pizza rolls (the cheap, boxed Price Chopper kind...they're cheaper and better than Tostino's)

Progresso's Tomato Rotini Soup

General Tso's Chicken (There's a little hole in the wall Chinese place around here that makes the best Tso's, and it's like six bucks for what must be about a pound and a half!)

Potato and Onion Perogies (Pan-fried in oil, of course, the only way to do perogies)

Catfish...maybe trout (Prepared in a multitude of ways, to keep things interesting)

What are yours? :happyfloa

5) Spaghetti and meat sauce

4) Beef and cheese enchiladas with my hot sauce (and Margaritas)

3) Filet Mignon w/ A1 steak sauce

2) Pizza, definitley Pizza!!!

and......

1) CEREAL!!!

Mmmmmm. . . .Food!

Great question but so hard to limit myself to five.

Pizza. . . . . So many toppings, so little time

Shrimp. . . . . Fixed in every way imaginable

Sushi Grade Salmon and Tuna. . . . . (impossible to pick from these two)

Bacon Cheeseburgers. . . . . Med rare, definitely a guilty pleasure

Ice Cream! :xpulcy: Mmmmmmm. . . . ice cream

:devil:I like this thread.

This is so much fun because I don't have to think about nutrition, or my weight, and just think about my favorite foods.

  1. pepperoni and mushroom pizza
  2. pasta shells with butter and garlic
  3. buffalo chicken wraps with cheese and tomato
  4. coffee (iced or hot)
  5. french fries

1. Chinese Food

2. Pepperoni Pizza

3. Cheeseburgers

4. Italian Sausages

5. Chex Party Mix

Mmmm... good

Oatmeal (good for Breakfast), Roast Beef (Anglo/Saxon sunday dinners), Potatoes (Irish must have) Carrots (Whats up Doc?) Apples (Yum) and Poonnanie (is that in the Meat group or is it a veggie?). Hows that?

Alright.

...

Tea. That's what I drink instead of water.
Beef. Fillet. With mustard sauce.
Rice. With peas. Or saffron.
Salad. Either tuna or cheese salad with balsamic vinegar.
Yoghurt. Never hurt.

...

Plus, just a bit of junk food, so I can stay on the fatter side of viciously overweight.

Okay, now I'm starving. . . . How about we get together and have a weekly pot luck. . . all of our favorite foods included. . . .

General Tso's chicken, Filet Mignon and French fries. . . Oh My! :couch:

My taste for basic food is not so sophisticated, although I really enjoy good, widely variated dishes. I just assumed for the sake of this question that I had to restrict myself to only 5 foods:

1) Fresh farmer's bread with butter
2) Potatoes in almost all varieties
3) Baked beans and toast
4) Italian pasta with various vegetables in tomato sauce
5) Steak with tossed salad

1) milk (I never developed a taste for soda, or anything carbonated for that matter, so milk and water is basicly all I drink)
2) Sausage egg and cheese biscuits
3) chicken and brocolli alfredo with garlic bread
4) steak with A1 and stuffed mushrooms (I'd say and garlic mashed potatoes, but I'm already pushing it to make it one food)
5) chocolate cheesecake (can't go the rest of eternity without chocolate)

01. Kebab
02. Tikka Masala
03. Taco
04. Cheese burgers
05. Pizza

Okay, not only do we get to ignore nutrition, we get to ignore cost! Hoooahhh!

First, some very specific foods.

1) LOBSTER! Broiled, roasted or boiled, hot or cold, with or withour drawn butter and/or various sauces! MMMMMMMM GOOD!!!!!

2) New York Style skirt steak. Broiled, roasted or braised. For my money, the tastiest form of meat there is.

3) Roasted Chicken leg quarters, served cold. (Love that dark meat.)

4) Mashed potatoes

5) Swordfish steaks, broiled. with or without butter.

Now since some of you have included combined ingredients foods and even entire genres of food as a single item, I will add a second list, in which I will do the same.

1) Sashimi/Sushi

2) English style pies and puddings (Shepherd's pie, steak and kidney pie, venison pasty, mutton pie, Yorkshire pudding, blood pudding, dead baby, spotted dick, plum pudding, etc.)

3) Any potatoes (regular, sweet, yams, etc.) prepared in any style (especially bangers and mashed).

4) Pasta (all styles) with sauce (again, all styles) the possibilities are nearly endless.

5) Tex-Mex food in all it's glorious variety. (But none of that wussy Cal-Mex style; I can't stand that tasteless Californicated mush.)

OMG~you're making an Italian stick to only five??????:wow:
Ok then...

Pizza (obviously)
Grape Nuts (what can I say, it fills me up for breakfast and tastes yummy!)
Hard boiled eggs (good anytime!)
Grapes (mmmmmmmmmm....)
Pasta (duh)

XOXO

1. Crawfish(or crayfish for those of you who call them that)
2. noodles
3. rice
4. umm...fish(doesn't really matter what kind, long as it's good)
5. chocolate pudding ("there's always room for JELL-O " lol)

LOL I know the feelin, except with cajun food. Too much good stuff (especially if you find a Copelan's--i think that's spelled right-- when visiting Louisiana. First place I've been to where I wanted to try EVERYTHING listed on the menu lol)

This was easy:

Dark chocolate, preferably Lindt or Godiva

Popcorn (air popped). I can NOT live without it; just the smell makes me salivate like Pavlov's Negro :triangle:

Cranberry juice, as tart as possible

Granny Smith apples (another gotta have 'em)

Beef tongue (yeah I said it :upsidedow)

Bella

4) An animal style Double-Double with animal style fries from In N'Out

5) Coffee ice cream

1. Sushi

2. Chicken (only grilled)
