What age do you FEEL?

Steph, being a single mom I can tell you its not an exact science. Not only is it the biggest job in the world but the hardest. My younger sister decided a long time ago that she never wanted kids. She just doesn't have the temperment for it. And its a wise decision. Sometimes I don't feel like I have the temperment for it. I make mistakes with my sons and fret about it sometimes. But most of the time your so busy living and working you dont have time to stop and think about it. I do see signs of acting like my mom did which is extremely scary. I adjust though and do things a little bit differently. One moment my kids hate me, the next they love me. No one says you HAVE to have kids and if you do not feel the need...dont do it. The "reward" I get is when they come up to me and give me a hug and kiss and tell me they love me. Now that is a great feeling.

Thanx friends... :smilelove
Sultry~my relationship with my own younger sister has been difficult to say the least. (She always wanted to be me~yuck!) She has 2 kids and one of the nicest things she ever said to me was to give me props for admitting that I probably wouldn't be good at motherhood. Shit, I cry when I have to leave my cats alone! Yanno how you just KNOW some things about yourself? Well, for me, this feels like one of them. I'm far more effective as a mentor to my friend's kids (my best friend has SEVEN!) because I can be objective in a way their folks never can...
XOXO

I'll be turning 40 this July, but I would say I feel like I am 25 years old, mature enough to know that responsibilities come first, but still feel that youthful energy to play hard ,have alot of fun :bouncybou
People, and friends i think would estimate my age around my early, late 20's as I too have a very young looking baby face and i get carded regularly whenever I go to a new restaurant, bar I have not been to before .

...Last time I went into a casino with a few local friends, the security guard stopped all 3 of us and had all 3 of us trying not to bust out laughing when the security guard stated that "the little one will have to wait in the arcade while you two go play " OMG and I don;t think that guard will forget when I calmly took out my Drivers license and handed it to him and he couldn;t believe his eyes..He he!,he had to get his little micro small light out to make sure it wasn;t so dark he was seeing things..

Steph, your at the place you need to be. I am sure those kids appreciate your presence in their life. I wish my sons had mentors. I say if you do whats in your heart you can never go wrong. I admire you for making that decision and taking the time to be there for those kids.

lol I would volunteer Dan but your too far away. My arms aren't long enough. By the way, I am a huge fan of the Clan of the Cave Bear series also.

Well, I'll be 43 this summer. Some days I feel 43. Most days I feel either 11 or 91...depending on what games my body is playing. Any or all of them can be fun at times. I never really put a lot of weight on ages. I grew up around a lot of much older people as well as those my own age. So, it's never really been a factor in things for me. AFA how old I look.... I get carded the few times I buy booze. So, I obviously look younger than I am. Or maybe it's that I act like a JD at times? lol

Ann

PS - Ray...Rob really has a connection to your dad there! It's amazing.

Well I just turned 32 and while it isn't very old I certainly didn't like turning 32, lol. I can act really immature though sometimes, it's just part of my nature. I've had people think I'm around 25 although I say that now and someone on here will go you look like you're 35, ROFL. I think when I'm with my kids I feel older just for the simple fact that I have to be responsible and all that, lol. Without them around, I usually feel younger. And once I hit 35 I'm going to stop counting. I have good genes in my family as well, my mom is 49 and most people think we're sisters (and I have no idea how to take that).

(pokes Dan)

Very funny young man! 😀

Thanx Sultry~I know I'm probably missing out on a lot but I get to experience some cool things too, being, well, me. A couple years back, the oldest girl, Nicole came to me. She was worried her bf was fooling around on the side and wanted an STD test at Planned Parenthood. I was so torn between "this poor girl confided in me, what choice do I have?" and my loyalty to her parents as their friend. I worried so much I made myself sick. Knowing Nic like I do, I knew if I said no, she'd keep seeing this guy and put herself at risk. Finally I told her, "I will take you but I wish you'd tell your folks."

See, like your son, I had no one. Any of my friends parents would have ratted me out in a New York minute. So I took her, everything was negative and they sent her home with a bagful of condoms. A year later, in a drunken haze, I confessed to Mom and Dad. Their reaction? They hugged me and thanked me, "We're so glad you were there for her, she'd have never come to us with that..." Wild, huh?
XOXO

I'm 22, I feel like I'm in my 30's. I figure, what's the point of being young if ya don't appreciate it? And it's hard to appreciate it while you're there. 😉 I look my age though that can be played with.

Good job Steph! Most kids would never dream of actually going to their parents with something like that. I know I wouldn't when I was that age.

I feel a different age every day of the week:

Monday: 85
Tuesday: 60
Wednesday: sometimes 45...if its a bad day--50
Thursday: my age (37)
Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 25

🙂

I got carded this weekend buying Sudafed. The woman at the pharmacy said, "you KNOW you have to be 18 to buy that right?" I handed her my id happily and she returned it with a "damn, you're good". I was SO pleased!

I wouldn't have either. I vowed to myself if I ever had kids, they'd never be raised the way I was. I wanted my kids to feel like they could talk to me. So instead, I became "that one" for my friends' kids. It's a role I really love... :redheart:
XOXO

I am the same age as Steph and older by only 5 days. I feel like I am 50 and act like I am 15. I look like I am well... I guess it depends on the day and if I want to put the mask on or not. :jester: 😛

If it's anything like here, they're recording ID, not checking age....though that's the reason they give you. Many pharmacies nationwide are requiring ID to purchase allergy and cold remedies in order to help identify possibly meth lab suppliers. They've been successful in helping shut down a few here in CT and surrounding areas.

A lot of the time, I feel like a rambunctious 7 year old.

BREAK STUFF! BREAK STUFF! ICE CREAM MAN! YAY!

How Old Do I Feel?

My age is subject to change at times from the usual 52;

*When waiting for the pool to open while I'm with my nieces & their friends I was 16 right along w/ them. :bouncybou

* When sitting on the front step talking to my dog while I was stroking his coat I was 5 yrs. old & back on the farm :dog:

* While I was talking to the Barmaid & she had the good graces to good-naturedly flirt back & laugh at my dumb stories, I was 31 & ready to ask her for her Phone number :firedevil

*At the wedding last Sat. Night while doing the Jitterbug I was 27 & ready to go back out on the dance floor. :happyfloa

* The Next day , Sunday , I felt every bit of 52...w/ 65 thrown in for good measure 🙁

* & when a co-worker asked me my opinion / advice,(& I came out w/ the right answers/ Advice for once)...I felt like the ancient old sage who lives on the mountain top. :rotate:

You know, the COOLEST thing about growing older is that you have ALL those Ages / Experiences to draw on , Reflect on & learn from;
Hopefuly I'm learning still. :wavingguy

Bug :cool2:
Some folks cry for progress, I scream for Icecream.

Physically I feel about 17... I have as much energy as ever but I think that I get sick a lot less... I'm too healthy for my own good!

But Mentally... when I think about the past few years and the places I've been and the things I've done (or is it the places I did and the things I've been???) I feel at LEAST 35.

But put on some silly music or a playful puppy and I'm a 7 year old kid again dancing with my daddy using a hairbrush as a microphone. I can't help it, I love to play...

Do I ever actually feel 26?? Yeah, when I'm sitting there in classes trying to not fall asleep from boredom thinking about what life is going to be like once I'm making enough money to feed myself!

Personally I will only feel those of legal age(21 and over preferably)and over.
(picture a little Graucho Marx face flickering eyebrows and an evil, albeit, cutish grin)

TTD 😀 😱

PS. There's an idea for a new smilie..........feel free to create it whomever has the ability. I share in all royalities if any......... :xpulcy: :bubble: :Hyrdrogen :upsidedow

Why...that's the most ridiculous thing I EVER hoid............
