I always talk to someone a long time before i play. From that I can tell usually if they are just in a hurry to have a victim or don't care about you. Sort of like you are saying... you want someone to know you before you play. All the good domes I have talked to do that.

If (A) - They're resistant on you performing a background check on them and (B) - They don't focus on trust as a major part of the BDSM sessons.

Obviously, a disregard for the subs limits, as well as constantly trying to push the subs limits are huge red flags. Looking for somebody who has a history with the local BDSM crew is a good idea, as if people have noticed poor behavior, they can inform you. Also, if they are no longer part of the community, one can also ask why that is.

Totally agree with this. I’d just add—take a little time to actually get to know your potential partner. Not only does it help sniff out any red flags, but building that connection makes the first session way less awkward (and way more fun). And hey, a casual meetup in a public place beforehand is never a bad idea. Trust, comfort, and a good vibe go a long way—especially when tickles are on the line.
