Ever be in a situation where the other person immediately assumes something bout you and this tickling thing that is totally untrue?
🙂

Yes. In my past I have dated women who, when I mentioned I liked to tickle, would tell me that is not "normal". They were quite accepting of guys who liked certain hair color or bust size but found my tickling interest very "strange". I do not see myself has strange. In fact I have had a quite successful professional career. Now, being married to TXGIGGLEE I am able to have a relationship where tickling is accepted and enjoyed. It helps that I am a ler and she is a lee.

That we dont love people we just love tickling witch is NOT True at all
We can just love too!

I made the mistake of mentioning something about a "safe word" to my last gf. She freaked out. "Safe word? SAFE WORD??!! OH MY GOD I HAD NO IDEA HOW DEEP YOU'RE INTO THIS YOU NEED HELP!!!"
Yeah no shit. I was just kidding about the safe word, and had no intentions of tying her up, but all efforts to explain that fell on deaf ears. And that's why I figure it's best to just keep quiet about my fetish.

Someone I told thought that a tickling gathering was where we all got together and had sex with those French Tickler condoms LOLOL

I think when people hear "fetish" they assume it's way more sexual than it actually is.

I haven't had an experience where someone totally freaked out on me. At the same time, I'm not THAT experienced in fully disclosing how deep the rabbit hole goes as far as my interest in tickling. Those that I have let know have been accommodating to very receptive. I sometimes may mention something in conversation with friend's....example, I mentioned tying up someone in conversation with another friend, and their reaction was being anti-bondage to keep it simple. They weren't repulsed by the thought or anything, but they just weren't into it. Had I gotten a disrespectful/ "i think you're crazy" reaction from someone, I think I'd be inclined to let them keep on moving then cuz this obviously isn't going to work.

Movies and TV have given foot and tickle fetishes a bad name over the years. They are usually depicted as complete losers who have lost touch with reality. The news also loves to run stories about the guy that breaks into peoples homes and steals stockings while they sleep or licks a womans foot while she is in bed.

Other people seem to be scared that they will find themselves in a situation where they are being tickle tortured and the "freak" that is tickling them won't stop...

Only misconception I've encountered was a girl who thought tickling couldn't be torturous.

Wait....you mean that doesn't happen at tickle gatherings?? 😕
No wonder everyone kept looking at me so strange when I dragged in a pallet of french tickler condoms!

Oh Nooo. 🙁
That's not good!

so true!!!.

No. Most people have never heard of the fetish and have no idea or imagination how it works. Everybody I talked to about it asked a lot of questions, but nobody assumed anything.

At first they don't even get what you're talking about - when you tell them that you are into tickling, most think you are talking about being stimulated on the clit! It never even comes into their mind that you are actually talking about plain old tickling.

Well, ok, some assumed that I am sub, which is not true, but that was about it.

That you get turned on when tickling anyone. No, sorry, but you're not that special.

when i told my friends they were like "that's a fetish?!" haha

You'll grow hair on your palms and go blind from masturbating to it

LOL, I know guys who are homophobic automatically assume that all gay guys find them hot....I think that's a common misconception that goes for EVERYTHING one is not into. 🙂

i get it out on the first date. this way depending on the girl i dont invest a lot of time money and emotion on a relationship that wont work

Yeah that is true LOL. Just sucks how it does apply to everything.

Yes, that has happened, but that's why I make a point of presenting this up front. If the person won't accept my kink, then I know they're not the best match for me anyway.

In my opinion offering a safe word to a person, especially a "vanilla" sets yourself up for disaster any way you look at it though. It will either freak them out, and make them think its gonna be worse than it really is, OR they will abuse it and use it as a constant break word, instead of a I really cant take anymore and need this to stop now completely, and make the play time not very fun for the tickler.

Maybe you just shouldn't call it "safe word". It might be way more appealing if you tell your partner: "Look, we'll agree on a code word, and if you want me to stop you'll just say that word and I'll stop immediately.

You can't just go ahead and tie up and tickle a person who has never tried it before without a safe word, THAT will set you up for disaster!

Sure you can. Safe words are for the weak and timid.
It's like calling a "time out" in the middle of an interrogation.
It ruins it.

Let's get one thing straight here ... I'm in control, not you.

I know I wasn't the originator of this thread, but I want to thank everyone for all their support and good advice concerning my situation. (Raises glass) Here's to the good times!
