Ever be in a situation where the other person immediately assumes something bout you and this tickling thing that is totally untrue?
🙂
🙂
Someone I told thought that a tickling gathering was where we all got together and had sex with those French Tickler condoms
I made the mistake of mentioning something about a "safe word" to my last gf. She freaked out. "Safe word? SAFE WORD??!! OH MY GOD I HAD NO IDEA HOW DEEP YOU'RE INTO THIS YOU NEED HELP!!!"
Yeah no shit. I was just kidding about the safe word, and had no intentions of tying her up, but all efforts to explain that fell on deaf ears. And that's why I figure it's best to just keep quiet about my fetish.
Movies and TV have given foot and tickle fetishes a bad name over the years. They are usually depicted as complete losers who have lost touch with reality. The news also loves to run stories about the guy that breaks into peoples homes and steals stockings while they sleep or licks a womans foot while she is in bed.
Other people seem to be scared that they will find themselves in a situation where they are being tickle tortured and the "freak" that is tickling them won't stop...
That you get turned on when tickling anyone. No, sorry, but you're not that special.

i get it out on the first date. this way depending on the girl i dont invest a lot of time money and emotion on a relationship that wont work
Only misconception I've encountered was a girl who thought tickling couldn't be torturous.

LOL, I know guys who are homophobic automatically assume that all gay guys find them hot....I think that's a common misconception that goes for EVERYTHING one is not into. 🙂
Say what........
In my opinion offering a safe word to a person, especially a "vanilla" sets yourself up for disaster any way you look at it though. It will either freak them out, and make them think its gonna be worse than it really is, OR they will abuse it and use it as a constant break word, instead of a I really cant take anymore and need this to stop now completely, and make the play time not very fun for the tickler.
Maybe you just shouldn't call it "safe word". It might be way more appealing if you tell your partner: "Look, we'll agree on a code word, and if you want me to stop you'll just say that word and I'll stop immediately.
You can't just go ahead and tie up and tickle a person who has never tried it before without a safe word, THAT will set you up for disaster!
