For me, ticklishness outweighs looks. This is also why I personally feel my interest in tickling is an unhealthy curse of sorts. It doesn't matter how beautiful a woman is (inside or out), if she isn't ticklish I have zero interest. There's just something wrong with that in my opinion, but that's how I'm wired unfortunately. There are many other aspects that I look for in a woman, but not being ticklish is unfortunately an absolute deal breaker.

But to answer the question of the post, it should come as no surprise I've rather have a 7 on the looks scale and a 8 on the ticklish scale. I'd definitely take a 5/10 over 10/5.

If a man treats a woman as an object, that's not going to be too attractive to most women...unless the guy is hella attractive physically. That's why the "reducing to numbers" thing is a problem for some.

On the other hand, if a woman feel safe with you and comfortable; if she thinks that you are into her as a person; if it feels good to her to hang out with you or otherwise be with you...I think that can count as an attraction...even if it is not totally a sexual one or one based on sex.

I like what you said, TickVix. I think a willingness to be ticklish or be tickled does relate to how attractive the lee may find her ler to be. If a lee doesn't like you, probably he or she is not going to let themselves be tickled by you.

Putting my academic hat on, but not wanting to get too deep...I wonder if some men feel some sense of entitlement in terms of these rating scales.

Remove the bolded part and you have a true statement. Looks won't make an asshole more attractive. Not to me and many others, anyway.

I'd think this would be obvious. Even among vanillas, most people don't want to be touched all over by someone they don't like.

Oh, and to answer the original question, looks don't matter much at all. Personality and lifestyle matter the most. Looks only matter in the sense of how they relate to the person taking care of themselves. I need a person with a healthy lifestyle or we just would clash too much... so someone 300 pounds overweight isn't going to do it for me. Ticklishness matters to some degree, because I can't imagine NEVER being able to tickle my boyfriend... just seems sad and boring. But really, most people are ticklish whether they like to admit it or not. I don't think I've ever dated anyone who wasn't somewhat ticklish, and it's not like I was specifically looking for that or anything.

I'd say WILLINGNESS to be tickled matters a lot more than the level of ticklishness itself. I'd rather have someone slightly less ticklish who was open to tickle fights than someone extremely ticklish who screamed "NO!" and ran every time I touched them.

Indeed. There is certainly no reason why there shouldn't be a 'tickling ability vs. physical attractiveness of ler' thread. And what a shame one could not make participation compulsory for those who have adopted a slightly sanctimonious tone in this thread. So they would have to say either (a) "Ok, the (physical) attractiveness/unattractiveness of my ler does matter to some degree and here's my attempt to quantify its importance" (which, of course, would make them TREMENDOUS hypocrites), or (b) "I really don't care what my ler looks like because looks aren't important" (which is such an outrageous claim that no one could possibly believe it).

People can think or feel what they like, but in my opinion, as a not so good looking person, (which looks don't matter to me) I take ticklishness and personality over looks any day. Looks can fade but being an obnoxious assholeism is forever... I will always go for ticklishness and a sassy personality, (sassy not rude or mean) anydsy over looks, but if a woman has looks, ticklishness, and personality I am all in!!! 😉

I'd say that looks and ticklishness are both important, but so is the chemistry between the two people. That counts for a lot! If it's there than average looks and average ticklishness are not a problem, and if it's not there then it's going to be hard for two people to have fun together.

I have had a lee reject playing with me because I am a man of size... It didn't feel good at all... I always try to make people feel good about themselves, and as far as tickling goes, when I was still switching I wouldn't have cared what my ler looked like... Yeah… I should say I have revised – though only to a small degree – my opinion on this issue. I think there are people whose strength of paraphilia is such that other matters – such as level of attraction to their fetish partner, for instance – are of minimal importance. Nevertheless, even with such a person as that, if you were to present them with a free choice between two prospective tickle partners, whose levels of ticklishness are unknown, one of whom they found attractive, the other unattractive, would it be a case of 50/50? Na. The odds are they’re gonna opt for the one they find attractive – which shows that looks must enter the equation on some level.

It just annoys me a bit when people try to turn these sorts of threads, which to me are really about innate preferences, into moral issues: you can practically hear them wheezing after their frantic rush for (what they believe is, anyway) the moral high ground lol. (Not that I’m saying that’s what you are doing, whorf: I thought your points were valid.) 🙂

For me, I'd rather have an average-looking girl who is extremely ticklish than a smoking one who isn't at all or only a little. Their reaction is where the turn on comes from.

If I'm a lee then it's not really important how the tickler looks if she does it good. I can always relax on the receiving end.
However, when I'm the tickler, although I'm happy to share my positive energy with others and give tickle therapy to anyone who asks for it (who said the ticklers should always be egoists and do it only for themselves?), it's more pleasurable to tickle someone with fit body so that you feel the muscles on her abs and legs when you massage and tickle.
If the person is not ticklish than there is nothing you can do for her, your skill is useless, that's it.

Just wanted to add:
Looking good and keeping yourself fit is something that you should do for yourself, not the others.
