What if CELEBRITY happens to US?

I think that being a celebrity you do have to be careful, but privacy is privacy and there are ways to keeps things private.

Really, no matter what happens in my life I don't think I could give up this friendship and place.

I got my Equity card in 1978, and can assure you that only two out of the above three instances will ever prevent an actor from attending a gathering. Finding spare time is rarely a problem.

I'd definately still remain involved. But, if it were a situation where I was being followed around by the stupid tabloid jerks or something like that, I wouldn't put a host or guests in the position of having to worry about it. I'd just stay away....and maybe host more gatherings in our home where they can't get in and bug us. After all, they'd only know that we had company, not what we were doing.

Fame isn't what you might hope for

...But we never think of the reverse situation. What is Celebrity happens to us?

Right now we kind of feel sorry for the "faceless celebrity masses" that can't engage us because of their fame while casually going to gatherings and munches left and right because we're free of that burden...but what if one or more of us becomes famous?

Would we still continue to interact with the TMF and attempt to go to gatherings? Or would the fame and the invasive public eye that comes with it force gathering hosts to bar us from the events to protect the civilian attendees-...

Could we even trust the hotel owners not to sell out the guest list for money offered by the Enquirer and Star...

What do you think? And if you know anybody famous who has this dilemma, ask them and then report what they say since we can't expect them to come forward and tell us directly, lol.

I don't know any celebrities who have this dilemma specific to a fetish, kink or anything similar. However, once you are a public figure you don't have a life. The hotel owner is not the one going to sell you out, it will be the maid or bellhop making minimum wage plus tips.

You wouldn't be able to go to a public gathering or post online in a fashion that would get you noticed. You could host things at your place and invite your friends, but forget about going to a munch or event at a friend's house. Your guest list would be very exclusive to make sure that your friends keep this to themselves. You get a lil paranoid about who you trust.

However, celebrities do get out and about sometimes without being notice. When they are not dressed up and in makeup it is amazing how one can go to a local burger place or another to a drug store to get something for a baby without given a second glance, especially when you are far removed from the LA area or anyplace they would expect to see a celebrity.

You cannot hang out with your family and go to a movie, taking a trip to Disneyland or any other public place is a nightmare. Do not expect to have any privacy. So unless the celebrity is okay being outted I would expect the person to disappear and distance him or herself from the TMF and the community as much as possible.
