What if CELEBRITY happens to US?

We've all endured the guessing game that is "What Celebrities are on the TMF?" We've all heard the same names and hints like Drew Barrymore, Nicole Kidman, and unnamed Republican politicians (although the lack of suggested names makes me think that the Republican politician-tickle fetishist thing is more like the Catholic priest-altar boy association than any real evidence). And because these alleged celebrity members never show themselves, the gossip only gets juicier.

But we never think of the reverse situation. What is Celebrity happens to us?

Right now we kind of feel sorry for the "faceless celebrity masses" that can't engage us because of their fame while casually going to gatherings and munches left and right because we're free of that burden...but what if one or more of us becomes famous?

Would we still continue to interact with the TMF and attempt to go to gatherings? Or would the fame and the invasive public eye that comes with it force gathering hosts to bar us from the events to protect the civilian attendees--most of whom are already skittish enough about privacy amongst our own ranks--from the probing eye of the paparazzi?

Could we even trust the hotel owners not to sell out the guest list for money offered by the Enquirer and Star? Would we be forced into the closet like the alleged celebrity members forever forced from now on to watch from afar as our former friends continued to have their merry ways and stories while we could only sit silently and imagine?

What do you think? And if you know anybody famous who has this dilemma, ask them and then report what they say since we can't expect them to come forward and tell us directly, lol.

It's so strange that you made this thread Amn, because I think about this semi-frequently when I see regular people rocketed to celebrity via some lame-oid reality show. The truth is, I think I'd want to stay active in the community, but I don't know how good it would be for the people who wanted to stay anonymous. The complications you mentioned above would make it almost irresponsible of me to stay active in the community. 🙁

It's funny this popped up because Lamashtu and I were talking about this very thing tonight about another forum member that "could" legitimately become very well known and whether or not they'd stay active or continue to go to gatherings. It would suck to have to drop it all and stop going. If they are a public figure, public opinions directly affect their work/career. I mean it doesn't cut all play from their life as they could visit any of us for play/hang out time, but the gatherings are something special on their own. I'm glad it isn't me facing it.

Depending on circumstances, would you even have the time to devote towards this? That is more likely to be a thing.

You've gotta know, going onto websites like this, that someone might recognize you, or that something like that might happen. It's part of the risk that you take in signing up for it.

But as for the question. Hm, if it happened to me - it won't - I wouldn't be able to tell you. I like to pretend something like that won't change who I am, but really, who can say until it happens?

Etc.

Man, what I'D wanna know is: would this 'tickle celebrity' be open about their interest? Would they feel comfortable enough to discuss it with entertainment magazines and possibly shed some light on our lifestyle to the general vanilla public? Hell, would they even be an ideal representative of our lifestyle?

I dunno. I would hate to become famous, and if it meant that everyone I knew would eventually find out that I have a tickle fetish ... I say 'bleh!' to that idea.

My thought is that if I were in that situation would I feel right about attending gatherings with cameras dogging me. Not so much about me really, just the thought of outing my friends here who would not want there fetish to be known for whatever reason. Being a celebrity could cause more problems for them than for me.

I would always admit to having a tickle / foot fetish, but never EVER mention TMF, Tickle Theater, etc only because all the 'fanatics' would flood the sites with stoopid questions & expose others to this. I would take ALL of the sites that I've ever signed up for and change my name to some made up names so no one can track me down. Although it might be too late to do that, since my real name has been scattered all over the web since 1993.

if you are a celebrity, you have NO NEED to go to gatherings.

It's only tickling. You would surround yourself with a bevvy of groupies of the opposite sex and tickle away.

Or, you would make sure you got tickled that way too.

If you have the money and the fame, you can get anything you want. They wouldn't need the TMF, gatherings or anything like that.

The chances of someone becoming famous who attends tickle gatherings is unlikely Whether we like it or not, the types of people who become "real" celebrities don't go to tickling gatherings.

When was the last time you heard a famous celebrity talk about any deviant sexual activity such as a foot fetish? I can't recall it being done once. Maybe some Z-class relity star would talk about it, but that's about it.

well, thats my opinion

It wouldn't be a question of being able to get your needs met, Shambles, it would be about having to leave behind the friends you've made here; not being able to attend NEST anymore would be heart-breaking for many of us even if the money and fame were wonderful. Surrounding yourself with new people wouldn't replace your friends. It's funny, I've thought of this a few times over the years because of the children's book series I'm working on; what would it mean for BellaRisa Entertainment and my kink life in general if gods forbid the books actually took off and became extemely popular? I can't see the Harry Potter books being quite so embraced if JK Rowling had been outed as a kinkster...these things can be worked out but it does give pause for thought. :wow:

I have thought about posting about this very topic many times, but somehow, you, Amnesiac, were much better able to put the thoughts to words. this is a situation that plagues me almost daily, because oneday, i may well, or probably, be well-recognizable in a certain arena. i wonder how i might handle the cork being popped.

Yeah I do ponder this very subject.

I hope that I could bring myself to relate the subject to vanillas, as you say, and would have to absolutely decide for myself that i have no shame in it in any way.

Very good thought, I think that about sums it up! Who knows, if someone from here got rich and famous, he/she would just send his private jet to all NESTees and fly them right to their Beverly Hills villa for a new NEST. 🙂

I guess it also depends what you are famous for! J.K. Rowling certainly doesn't want to be connected with any fetishes, but I don't think people would give a damn if Angelina Jolie revealed she's into tickling....I actually think she's expected to be somewhat kinky! 🙂

I seriously doubt they'd come out. Their handlers wouldn't allow it. It would be a PR nightmare for all involved for them to clean that mess up. It does depend on the celebrity though of course and who their audience is.

As for gatherings, perhaps things would simply change. As in, the famous one would just meet up with those he or she already trusted before being hit with the Fame Stick.

I'd love to sit here and say I'd still interact as I always have, but I feel very strongly as though I wouldn't be able to. Tabloid vultures, delving into your personal life, are likely to find out about this forum and make a mockery of it. You also have to worry about making a whole lot more "friends" than you did before, wishing only to mooch off of your success and maybe score a few bucks. Of course, I'm just guessing. Right now, I'm about as famous as the guy that hands me my Whopper from the drive thru window.

Really, I think that that is because they know better than to reveal it more than anything. But I can't know that.

Etc.

I think Quentin Tarantino would definitely qualify for his well-documented foot fetish. Drew Barrymore as well, who admits to liking tickle sessions. I'm just sayin'. 😀

Enrique Iglesias, Tommy Lee, Big Boi from Outkast...

I am probably too traumatized by his father to accept him! 🙂

Don't know why, but I never considered him a celebrity! Just a personal impression that I have for a some people who are seen as celebrities. I mostly don't share that opinion because they did something that I considered being desparate....like appearing in the show "I'm a star, get me out of here"! 🙂

this is a nice thread, because I am an actor, and a wanna be rapper, and all that, and I hope to one day be a film actor, and so i could be a celebrity someday lol..

I've never gone to a gathering before but that's because I never have the money or time or a way to get there.. but with the money from being a celebrity I might go to one 😛 i don't know if i'd want reporters to see me at one but i dunno, i'd still try to get on the tmf when i can though, just like myspace and stuff.. i wouldn't want to disappear and forget the "little people" as they say if I ever got big lol..

And I'd want to see if I can tickle some female celebrities that we don't know are ticklish and want to report back to you that they are or aren't 😛

I ALWAYS think of this question.

I would probably keep the whole tickling on the DL, but I wouldn't mind it if people knew I had a tickling fetish.

Alas, poor Monster..

I got my Equity card in 1978, and can assure you that only two out of the above three instances will ever prevent an actor from attending a gathering. Finding spare time is rarely a problem.

Welcome to the profession....

Well, I never thought it was a question of getting what you need because if you can get a suitcase full of tranquilizers delivered by a transsexual hooker who will take out payment in trade on a studio per diem bankroll, then getting tickling shouldn't be THAT difficult in the business.

But the fallout on the rest of the community is what I was referring to. Do you leave behind the community you know and love for a career full of flakes and leeches simply because the latter can sate your dreams and lubricate your financial worries? Could you even interact with the community again? Or would the espionage-like population of paparazzi be able to penetrate any incognito escapes you plan?

And would you still attend or would you cut off the community to spare them the risk of exposure? Are you the kind of person who would jump on the grenade or does the grenade even need jumping on?

While the hope is that maybe I'll get somewhere with my writing, even then I think I would be able to post freely here and go to NEST. More than likely, I will continue to just be a celebrity in my head. Ha.

I think that being a celebrity you do have to be careful, but privacy is privacy and there are ways to keeps things private.

Really, no matter what happens in my life I don't think I could give up this friendship and place.
