What is the diffrence between a good tickler and a bad tickler ?

I guess that question explains it all. Though tickling is a relative thing and most will laugh anyway regardless of the quality of the tickling. What is it that makes some better than others?

I think a bad tickler is somebody that doesnt follow cues from the lee. If your not getting a reaction change what your doing. Also tickling hard shouldnt hurt but well tickle. I think a good tickler knows how to change things up to keep the lee ticklish and enjoying the situation. That being said tickle torture is a whole other ball of wax! Its good and bad at the same time you know when your on the brink of loosing your mind.

Indeed.A good ler knows when to stop before the tickling crosses the line from testing limits to being abusive.

I think being a good tickler means:
1- knowing all spots which may be ticklish
2- tests all those spots
3- varies the pressure of the tickling of all those spots, from very light to deep tissue, to determine which technique works best on each spot
4- then takes what they've learned and dishes out an intense, merciless, relentless tickle torture

actually as long as the tickling isnt a piecemeal or too 'courteous' and not so rough as though scratching until it hurts then its fine. i say its got to look like tickling and not caressing or wanton dig in your fingers and then whatever (that is not tickling. that is fucking off.)

IMO, a truly good ler will be able and willing to adjust and be effective no matter what type of lee they're working over. If you're tickling a person who enjoys and responds well to a firm or even hard touch, that's what you go with. If it's a lee who responds to a light touch, then that's what you go with. If you happen to have a lee who responds to a combination of things, use that combination.

You need to be able and willing to read your lee and go with what works. You need to remember that every lee is different...and possibly even different from one session to another.

I've experienced "lers" who think that they have the perfect tickling method and that it will work on everyone...even when it's obvious that it doesn't. They are poor lers because they refuse to explore and expand their techniques. Their ego gets in the way of fun for all involved.

I've also experienced lers who start out with their own preference and very quickly adjust as needed. That's my kind of ler. And they are the ones who are generally the most devastating....and fun!

I think a tickler performs best when he/she has a playful, and friendly connection with the lee. This makes it possible to have a conversation before play about likes, dislikes, etc.
I think the best tickler adjusts technique for what tortures/pleases/tickles the lee most...and has an open mind to experiment with different things.
I think great lers are creative and devious.
A bad ler (IMO) is one that doesn't put my safety first, or think about my comfort while restraining me, or bruises my skin.

I think it's simple...

Here's what I think is the simple answer. Good ticklers make you laugh, beg and maybe even cry a little (from laughing or frustration of the helplessness). Bad ticklers will leave bruises. Is that about right, or is there more to it. Being a ler I'd like to know myself.
