What is the meaning of your TMF name?

I haven't replied to this thread yet, so I'll do so here. (Thanks for reviving it, Molly. 😀)

To come up with my TMF name, I simply used my real name's initials, and added my phone number's area code to it. 😛
 
Mine's simply just a shorter name for a handle that I use a lot in games (Vaelyn) and a character in a story I wrote. 😉
 
i chose the name little wolf for multiple reason.

i have a tattoo on my back in kanji that say little wolf. That and the wolf is the animal that i feel most kindred to.
 
I got my name as a tribute to Cliff Burton (Old metallica bass player) because i remember on my cliff em all' dvd James's says something about the 4-string slinger motherf***er, Cliff! I play bass and love cliff so i decided it would make a cool online name. Boring i know.
 
Well mine is simple...its a combination of my 1st name (Robert) my nickname I was given when I played college football and basketball (Ace) and my area code (252). Simple enough. Although through the years Ive gone by variations of said name (Ace919, Ace252, robace919, robace)

When your older brother been called Ace all his life you know being the younger one I was going to be a deuce
 
I'm a big fan of Strider Hiryu and all ports of the games. I bought the NES version way back when and have been a fan ever since. The Striders are a group of high tech warriors who engage in assasination, espionage and so on. Hiryu turned against them because of their evil ways.

Etienne and isabeau were indeed lovers in the movie and that is why isabeau and I on tmf have selected those nics. We are perfectly matched as Ler and lee but are separated for many reasons so feel like the star crossed lovers in Ladyhawke.

oo i almost forgot about this thread. and Etienne was right. he chose these names for us. we sort of had a misunderstanding and i dropped the E, and sometimes wonder if i should have changed my nick. but i like this nick , it brings back wonderful memories for me.......

There was another thread like this one...and I posted on it a while back. However, people continue to ask, so...

I have a coffee table book in my home- pictures of New York in the 19th Century. Victorian-dressed skaters on the pond in Central Park in front of the Dakota...the arm and torch of the to-be-built Statue of Liberty sitting in Madison Square. Stuff like that. One picture was of a building on lower Broadway, near Murray Street (where I stood six deep for the Mets' victory parade after the 1986 Series), with a gigantic sign on top that read, "Knox The Hatter", with smaller signs reading same. The sign on top was reputed to be so large that it could be seen clearly from Jersey City. I don't know, the name kinda struck me, and when I found this place on a sunny, very cold, unemployed day in February '03, I needed a screen name; I chose it. One thing I wasn't gonna do was choose a name with the word 'tickle' in it, because I surmised (correctly so, as it turned out) that there were thousands of other people who had done the same thing... 😱

I feel the same way. Having a name with a fetish description makes us look like newbies.
 
This is just a description of how I like to be, plus an invitation I like to give to any nice lady whose bare belly I happen to be traipsing my fingertips upon.

Weird. I could swear I've posted this before......but I didnt see it here or in my post history.....ah well :idunno:

I've always been fascinated with ancient gods, across numerous cultures (a bit of an oddity I suppose being that I'm an atheist, I'm funny that way :happyfloa ). The history of Dionysus (greek)/Bacchus (roman) was of a special interest, but it wasn't until I read a sweet little novel called "Dominion" by Bentley Little, where Dionysus is essentially resurrected into modern day in the story, that I was hooked.

One of the books I have features a caption..."Who is Dionysus? The god of ecstasy and terror, of wildness and of the most blessed deliverance - a mad god whose appearence sends mankind into madness........"

Personally I've always preferred the somewhat simpler description, basically the god of sex and wine. Seemed an appropriate nic to me for certain websites, lol 😎 I also use Bacchus (on the mousepad, for instance, although I rarely if ever post).

When I first went online I used the name of my absolute favorite poet, EzraPound (esp. in chatrooms), but I was constantly getting swarmed by men thinking I was a woman......eventually I moved away from using it........and seriously, how many woman since 1970 on do you know are named Ezra??? :shock:

(man I'm really getting long winded lately 😱 )

Tickling part of my name is obvious. And when I joined, I was young and not very creative with coming up with unique screennames.

However, for the Nemesis, I've been a fan for a long time of Greek Mythology and the Greek Gods. When I was 14, my friends and I sort of started our own little club and we called ourselves the Outsiderz (based upon the book 'Outsiders'). We all picked nicknames that we wanted to be referred to as and I chose Nemesis because Nemesis is the Greek Goddess of Retribution. A couple of years later, my friends and I started a notebook story of us in a fictional world (with some reality mixed into it) and my character is Nemesis Karter.

Then only annoyances of using this name are:
1) people assuming Nemesis means enemy. That's the stupid dictionary's definition. The Goddess Nemesis punishes the bad and rewards the good. She's basically the definition of justice and that's me.
2) when people ask me if I got the name off of Resident Evil. I've never heard of nor seen Resident Evil.

So people please never assume because you make an ass out of u and me. (LoL! but seriously!)

It just popped into my head ... I couldn't think of anything, so I thought of things that were related to a lifestyle(?) that I was very much into at one time ...not so much anymore ... but the handle stuck, so I figured why change it.

Well the way I got my tmf screen name was from the movie/play Rent. In the movie/play there is a character named Angel, and I fell in love with that character. so I went with Angel_2, I was going to go with Angel but that was already taken so I went with the next best thing. :happyfloa BTW just so everyone knows I am a Guy.
