knox, chicken liver?

i use beef liver, NO CALF LIVER!
i too use the onions, eggs, but i also use a little "schmaltz" and grated sweet apple. trust me, this is to fight for the triscuit box for!

if you wanna trade mess hall horror stories, i'll gladdly join in, everyone knows "the navy has the best chow". i was army, and i gotta say, those mess hall types could ruin everything! the only thing i could count on being good, was the grits. i got to really like those. but the liver! you really could patch your boot and do a 3 mile run, lol.

Beef liver and calf liver? Noooooooo!!! It should be chicken liver. Maybe for Thanksgiving even turkey liver.

Steve, the apple sounds interesting. I never tried that.

How do you make chopped liver? I am sure you make it and it is wonderful, like all of your cooking.

Believe it or not I do not make chopped liver as I hate the stuff, always have, but Steve's sounds just like my grandma used to make with the schmaltz. I do however make homemade gefilte fish but not for thanksgiving!! LOL

Well off to brine my turkey!! Got to get ready for Thanksgiving with the family.

PS...also note this is the 5 year anniversary of when we left for Colombia to pick up our precious Matthew! What a miracle to be thankful for.....and now to be celebrating with Amanda for the 1st time.
