To a fellow Canadian, I fear Mounties in red coats with Molson in hand singing O Canada, esp while surrounded by some nice juicy Canadian BEAVER!
Serioousl tho, my greatest fears are the state of the world today, with it's constant strife and wars( though I'm beggining to sadly realize that war, not peace, seems to be the natural state for humanity
) and on a personal not.. I fear failure , and not living up to my own potential and expectations

I wouldn't really say that much scares me. I guess that I feel secure enough with things that I could accept anything that came to some degree. But there ARE things that concern me and cause me to give them a second thought...
drowning (not a very strong swimmer)
being tortured (been there, done that, don't care to again)
my own potential for violence (I know more can come out if I don't keep it in check)
heights (if there's nothing between me and the void...I didn't like the road coming back down from Mt St Helen last summer! yikes!!!)

the dark scares me I think it has something to do with watching scary movies when I was little now I won't watch them at all!

What really scares me are: death of a loved one/friend, hurting/disappointing others, my own death as I get older. Now on the lighter side: hairy spiders, dentist's drill, non-ticklish women...

A few things scare me:Heights, I am terrified of heights
Snakes, any snake I don't care if it's poisonous or not! I can't even see them on TV or a movie
Going to the doctor, that stems from when I was a little girl I think. Not sure...or it stems from urrrrr never mind! LOL

I'm afraid of heights. At least I was until I was forced to climb up unstable ladders and scale along traverses 20 yards above a wooden stage on a regular basis. I adjusted.
I'm afraid of spiders. To my chargrin, three large specimens are sharing my appartment with me. They keep the gnat population down. I tolerate them.
I'm afraid of something happening to a loved one. I ignore the possibility by being cynic and thus making it less real.
I'm mortally afraid of jellyfish. I have no clue why that is. I shun swimming in the ocean.
I'm scared of my heart suddenly giving up on me. I often wake up bathed in cold sweat with my hands clutching at my chest out of their own volition.
I'm frightened of people. I generally suspect them to wish me ill. The fact that I loathe most people instinctively doesn't help.
Yes, I'm scared of a wide variety of things. That's why I'm grinning most of the time. I subjugate my fears with general disdain and fake aloof smugness. I cherish the few situations that allow me to live without fear for a couple of hours, and those in found my loved one's arms.
Oh, and I'm not afraid at all to go through a thread with a fine-toothed comb to delete all posts that are far, far off-topic and only serve as a personal battle. But don't force me to do that again, or I'll type nasty things at you. You know who you are.

for me i got to say, it been alone and like not finding that special girl to love and share your life with, i know this is pretty deep, but that really the only thing that scares me more than anything.
