What the heck is tickling me?

Once when I was housesitting for some friends of mine I took off my clothes to go to bed. It was very hot so I just laid down on top of the covers and drifted off to sleep. Awhile later, I was awakened by a ticklish sensation going up my spine. I must admit that it felt good, but this is Arizona, where scorpions run rampant. I let whatever it was continue crawling on my back until I had to see what it was...you know, if cockroaches weren't so dirty they'd be great tickle tools. Anyone else got a story?

In the truly awful movie, "Joe's Apartment", Joe's girlfriend gets tickled on her bare toes by cockroaches crawling over them. :xlime:

Milagros, welcome !

If cockroaches were called something a bit more appealing, like wonderbeetles or happybugs, we'd probably like them more...or maybe not. That movie does sound interesting. Does anyone remember a 70's flick that had special sensors installed in the theater that would "tickle" your feet every time a scene with bugs appeared? I truly remember something like that... but it was the 70's and I may have been a bit influenced by that wacky weed back then.

No Black Widows?

AquaFeline, I share your dislike of any insect, arachnid or creepy crawly that can inflict pain into my wonderful world. I've always wondered yet never bothered to find out if the many legged centipede would bring chills of delight to ticklish soles or backs or whatever. Or are they venomous as well? Any bug enthusiasts know the answer?

Oops. My mistake...

I'm very new to the computer world so when I just saw 'General Discussion' and my 'What the heck is tickling me?" topic in here, I quoted the great Homer Simpson and said, "Doh!" Can someone please tell me how to transfer this topic to a more appropriate location? Thank you.

Google tells me a centipede is poisonous, and I think I remember that as well. Try a caterpillar as they're poisonous only when you eat them.

I am normaly a very nice, non-violent person, but if anyone put an incect or arachnid on me to tickle me while I was tied up, they would very myseriously disappear!

(shudders)

What a wretched topic...
We used to rent this nasty ass "roach motel" house back in the
way-broke days...It had central heat but no A/C--and it gets VERY hot here in summer-100+ easy. I was lying in bed in my usual summer sleepwear--just bikini briefs and this humongous black spider jammed across my stomach. It tickled but for once I didn't enjoy it--I was so freaked out, I spent the night locked in my car crying!🙁

XOXO

Glad you're here, Steph

Yes, I supposed I opened up a can of worms with this topic (pun intended). I know how repulsed people can be by insects but think about it... they can be quite tickly. I've been trying to locate battery operated bugs and spiders so tickle friends can have the thrill of the tickle without the grossness... now you can't go wrong with ladybugs. They're cute, tickly and harmless to humans. Just don't squash them while they crawl on you... oh, man, I don't believe it.

Well, I was so traumatized I hadn't even REMEMBERED it until you spoke up here. If you knew me in real life, you'd laugh your ass off at this story--pretty much fearless all my life, even as a baby, only 2 things to this day REALLY make me nervous...strangers and spiders--eek!

Won't your friends just settle for a nice soft stuffed kitty? A dog, A teddy bear??? 🙁

XOXO

Sure, why not use insects. There's a class of non-icky insects out there, right?

Flies are icky but I think I've heard of flies and honey before in a book.

Teddy Bears and stuffed dogs? I've used Teletubbies and Elmo dolls (Tickle ME, Elmo)on my tickle lady. But even the non-icky bugs give her the creeps. Remember rolie-polie bugs? Cute little things. "You can catch more flies with honey than with Pepto-Bismol or something like that".

Of course you can remind people that we have craploads of bacteria on our skin and internally and they freak out too. 😀

😀 😀 😀

I can't see the rest of it, it doesn't bother me!
XOXO

Odd things tickle me from time to time. A breese or light wind sometimes tickles me especially when I have my shirt off or am wearing a bathing suit. When the spray and water pressure are just right a shower can tickle me, especially under the arms. Loose clothing can tickle me; I usually wear a snug undershirt etc. to prevent this. Vibrations form a car or riding lawn mower can tickle me especially on the feet. Anybody else experience any of these or am I just unusually ticklish?

There was quite a long story series, I think it was called "Poor Ticklish Tony" where a couple episodes dealt with Tony being tickled by his sister with insects...mostly ants and flies if I can remember. Brutal!

I remember hearing somewhere the expression, "Busier than centipedes at a foot ticklin' contest..." I always wondered if that had any basis in reality...

Cheers,
Stacy

I've heard, "Well, feather my feet and start me a gigglin'," but I don't think insects were involved.
