I always hear people debating on when xmas music should be played. Some think it starts too early or too late soooooooo when do you think it should begin?

I'm going with the day after thanksgiving. Black friday is considered the day when xmas shopping starts so why not bust out the music then too? lol

Only after Thanksgiving. I can't stand it when stores skip over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Never.

Seriously, if I hear Jingle Bells one more god damn time, I'm tossing this radio out the window.

I personally think you shouldn't play it until after Thanksgiving 🙂 But the store I work at plays it about a week before Thanksgiving once the store is completely decorated for Christmas. So I guess it isn't TOO bad...I went into a clothing store in early November and they were already playing Christmas music. That is a bit much for me.

They should play it one night before C-Eve, for the last minute assholes(like me)...

I deserve the torture!

There is a radio station here on Long Island (WALK/FM)that starts playing Christmas music 24/7 a week before Thanksgiving and almost anywhere you go you'll hear it. The boneheads play it all the upto Christmas day and then stop on Christmas. They can't let it go another few hours? I find that sort of stupid.

I don't know. I guess any time after Thanksgiving is okay, but even right after Thanksgiving I'm not quite ready for Christmas. I love Fall, and I still want a little bit of time to continue to enjoy the feeling of Fall and my Fall tablecloth and all that stuff. I think today I'm a bit more ready for Christmas-time to start making its way in, but I definitely needed those few extra days. I'm gonna go with the Monday after Thanksgiving.

I'm all for Christmas music after Thanksgiving, but how about a little moderation here? I can't stand Christmas music 24/7, but a little bit now and then is okay.

I have a thing about Christmas music. It always makes me really sleepy.

I understand stores playing them from Black Friday on.
But I won't listen to any Christmas music (by choice) until Christmas Eve/Day. I get sick of it. Fast.

Stores up here in Canada have already been playing them since october... i've pretty much gone insane at this point..

Anytime after Santa rides by at the end of the Macy Day Thanksgiving parade is fine to start playing Christmas music. That goes for Christmas flavored ads too.

A little bit of it after Thanksgiving is enough. Save the continuous music until a week before Christmas.

I think it can start being played on Black Friday, but not 24-7 like some stations do. Ease into it gradually, and maybe maximize it by the week before Xmas, until Xmas Day.

Publicly I say after Thanksgiving. Although if you like the music the holiday brings, play it all year long. I mean, if we can play Halloween music like Lady GaGa all year, why not Christmas music?
