How they accomplished it? a hail mary beats the Broncos... they demolish the patriots and beat the 49ers without it ever really in doubt, im not seeing the unimpressive
Since when is a "hail mary" impressive? It dictates you were so far out of the game you threw a piece of crap to the wind and hoped for the best. The prayer was answered. The Denver defensive backs went to lunch on that play. Congrats to the Ravens. They were handed a game anyone who watches NFL knows they should have lost.
"Demolished" the Patriots? What game were you watching? Look at the stats: Most first downs? - Pats. Most passing yardage? - Pats. Total yards? - Pats. New England also had more yards per rush with fewer carries. Baltimore was losing at halftime and leading by only one when the 4th quarter began. The only glaring stat was 3 turnovers Pats and none Ravens. So again, the Ravens get a game handed to them by turnovers. Otherwise they were outplayed the entire game. No stat in that game showed me the Ravens outplayed the Pats or that the Ravens were impressive. Stats do not lie.
The Super Bowl? The game comes down to the final minute and San Fran in the red zone. Hardly a game that was "ever really in doubt". Again, most passing yards? - San Fran. Most rushing yards? - San Fran by a mile. Most first downs? - San Fran. Total yards? - San Fran. Most yards per play? - San Fran. Please tell me how anyone can say Baltimore outplayed San Fran?? They had a 108 yard kickoff return (with no-call holding because as you said yourself, the refs let those things go in the superbowl) and the refs decide to go blind again in the final minutes of the game (For starters go to that 4th down play near the goal line - then for more laughs watch the replay of that safety and count the holding by the Ravens ). So please tell me again how this game was 'ever really in doubt' ?
If the refs 'let calls go' in the superbowl and are afraid to call facts, then so be it. But the fact that the game even came down to a controversial call alone should tell you the Ravens couldn't have been that impressive.
A win is a win and Baltimore has another trophy in their case. But don't even try to tell me they 'demolished' or outplayed anybody. There is a difference between outscoring your opponent and outplaying your opponent. Bookmakers call this a "false win" when making their 'true' lines for the following week during the season. How they won their games was hardly impressive. The fact they managed to score more points when being dominated and outplayed by their opponents was impressive.
Congrats to the Ravens.
