Where do men meet women/vice versa these days?

I'm not fond of the singles scene outside of college. Maybe I'm just lazy, but finding people was so much easier, and I'm not much into picking people up at bars. So where do people meet up? And duh, please, don't say the internet.

I'm trying not to say the internet, but you're sort of limiting your options here. The thing about bars and clubs is that a lot of people are there specifically to meet other people, and it's considered completely normal to try and approach someone. Sure, there's always a chance you'll randomly meet someone just out and about at the market, but the situation isn't really geared towards it. There's also always the workplace, but your options there are pretty limited.

Here's a few thoughts..librarys,museums,book stores,sporting events,concerts,volunteer work,church,art fairs.In other words go where you will meet people who are interested in the same things you are,whatever those may be.

pick up a hobby, if you don't have one already, volunteer, go to diners, restaurants, coffee shops. join a club or two. take up gardening. learn chess. become politically active. become active in your community.

I've done well by museums and concerts and nightclubs. I haven't tried internet dating yet, and never ever date at work. I'd hate to think the only way to meet someone is through the internet!

I have met several girls at concerts, thats about the only place besides a bar or club. Another good tip is to become friends with either a guy or girl who is very popular and sponge off them

Taking up a hobby or interest, or at least pretending to in order to go to social events connected to such, seems like the way forward. The only problem is finding interests which women like that aren't stupid or shit and boring.

Well, not every woman isn't stupid, or shit or boring! Maybe you should expand your horizons a bit before you start lumping all women into categories.

As far as the OP is concerned, why wouldn't you consider the internet?? I've found two very nice and interesting men via internet websites geared to my and their preferences. If there's a certain "type" of woman you'd like to get to know, you can find exactly what you want online. Don't be so quick to rule out the possibilities. Don't make it your only source, but open your mind to it as a potential source.

I've never heard of the "hobbies" you've mentioned, but do love to crochet! I met a guy at one of my sister's parties who spent two hours talking to me about knitting, crochet, and cross stitch. How the heck about that??
