I'm deffinately looking forward to this movie next Friday. It looks like it is going to be an awesome movie from the previews.
I know, but the rest of them don't. As for Hollywood ruining it... remember that David Hayter wrote the screenplay(X-men, X2).

Doc Manhattan was the Captain Atom archetype, so he did indeed have some crazy levels of power. With that out of the way, yes I am looking forward to seeing it...even with it being giant-squid free.
And on March 6th, Alan Moore (and his beard) will be hiding under a table with his snake-god and rueing the day as the film hits the theaters. Oh well, you can't please everyone, right?

lol. You mean the guy who goes around saying "Retreat! Retreat!!!" all the time? I always liked Heroes and Villians who wear masks that completely cover their faces... which explains my fascination with Rorschach and others like Boba Fett and Cobra Commander, Etc.

I always wanted to try that myself. I always wondered if the chicks would find me more attractive if I wore a full face mask? You know, the whole mysterious aura thing and all. It seems to work for Cy/MiG...
I'll have to try wearing the V for Vendetta Mask this coming Halloween. I'll see if any girls find me more attractive. If at least one does talk to me, then that's a definite yes.

Maybe I'll go for the Cobra Commander hood. Almost elegant in its simplicity. We'll see if that works.

I'm happy that a Swiss born Canadian raised actress is playing Silk Specter II. I will go see it because I am hoping the movie will be more entertaining for me then the book was. I loved the dude with the "Ink Blot Test Mask" ( I am not even going to try and spell his name) but Nitt Owl was a pussy and just about everybody else in the book sucked. Even the Comedian was a punk, why would anybody care about what happens to a loser like him.
In the end I felt the biggest hero in Watchman was the Prison shrink.

Regardless the dvd will fill whatever gaps needed
the DVD will contain dark freighter, a cartoon voiced by the Gerard Butler(300)
This might be the case, but this is what I don't get:
The Star Wars Clone wars Cartoon 'filled in the gaps' between Ep's 2 and 3 (so I've heard), but ep 3 sucked balls.
The Watchmen DVD might 'fill in the gaps' of the movie, but WTF?!
Why not just make a longer movie or 2-3 movies?
So confused...

The story itself isn't as long or *ahem* convoluted at LOTR man. LOTR took place over 13 months. Watchmen takes, what? Two weeks? It's not big enough for 2 - 3 movies.
As for the DVD, the pirate story, while all kinds of depth and stuff, isn't actually necessary to the storyline of Watchmen. While I'd love for them to leave it in, I'm not sure I'm set to watch 4 hours of movie on opening night with a bunch of folks who are more geek about this than I am.
I say let the chips fall where they may for now, keep an open mind about this thing as a movie separate from the book and hope for the best. 🙂
