who watches American Idol and who is your favorite to win?

Unfortunetely, the fate of the contestants, supposedly, lies in the hands of the general public. Personally, I don't agree with the decisions the last couple of weeks. First George, now Latoya.

I think that if George was going to get booted he should have the one of the two weeks before his fate was sealed. It's just at the point where there is no margin for error. Personally, I thought Jasmine butchered the song "it's Raining Men", but that's only my personal opinion, for whatever it's worth.

i was surprised that jasmine got to stay...i wasn't surprised that la toya was in the bottom 2..she didn't have a great performance this week either...jasmine should've been in the bottom 2 and should've been the next one gone, but she'll be gone next week..i'm sure of it, just hope she doesn't have to go thru the death threats and crap like john stevens did...no 16 year old kid should have to go thru that just because they aren't well liked.

Death threats? Are you serious? It is bad enough that children are allowed in these competitions as it is. They need to learn to be children first, not thrust into adulthood. That aside, they also have to put up with idiots threatening their lives? What is this world coming to when people harrass kids for being who they are? It's not like they're on drugs, screwing around, drinking, or the many other things a lot of kids get sucked into. They're pursuing their dreams. Whatever is wrong with that?

ok, they finally did right tonight. We are down to the final 2. I think Fantasia is going to get it although she has never been my personal favorite. They are both excellent, Diana and Fantasia. Fantasia is good although her style sometimes rubs me the wrong way. Diana is adorable, powerful and talented...given a little styling tips I think she can go far.

So I will be glued to the finale next week!

Fantasia and George were my two favorites from the very start of the finalies, so I am obviously rooting for Fantasia at this point. I know her voice is a bit of an acquired taste for some, but she has so much personality and stage prescence and fire and energy that is just puts her in a league of her own. I still feel either George, LaToya, or Jennifer should be in the final two with her, instead of Diana, but Diana has come a long way, and proved she deserves to be there with her powerful and amazing rendition of "Don't Cry Outloud" on Tuesday night. I don't think she should win, but she's a hell of a talent, and will likely have a prosperous career ahead of her.

Listening to them both sing the same song settled it easily,imo. I'd buy Fantasias version, and that's what this is really all about in the long run. It would be a travesty if she didn't win. Of course she SHOULD have been playing off against LaToya, but that's water under the bridge.

At the rate things have been going this season, they'll probably choose Diana because the public has been voting backwards for several weeks. I didn't watch last night, but Fantasia is the stronger singer and the better performer between the two of them, even though I don't care for her voice very much. I wish Jennifer Hudson would've won, but am glad Fantasia won. Diana has a good voice and a good personality, but Fantasia was the better performer overall. She can also stand as an example that if a nineteen year old single mother can rise to the top, so can anyone. Even though I'm not that crazy about her voice, I support her in her future success.

Actually, before they do another year of Idol, they really need to set clear meaning on the voting procedures, like only vote people off because of their singing ability, not a popularity contest ,also fix the way the votes are counted by phone too. That's the only way to make it fair and right😀

Idea is great in theory, however;

You can't leglislate people's tendencies to vote for who they like, not necessarily who posesses the most talent. If American Idol ever expects to remain on television, they better figure out a decent phone-in system.

Do what they did on the new Star Search, use Internet voting. It would give people a chance to vote that couldn't get through the phones. Plus, it can be limited to one vote on one person.

The plan isn't foolproof, but it's a start!😉
