Why are ladies better lers than guys?

I have always wondered this. Is it because ladies have smaller hands than men and can get into places more effectively? I think it could also be because women have longer nails.


Anyone else have any ideas on this? Looking forward to replies.

I don't know if they're actually better. Women just seem to have a different method. As far as clips, I do not watch m/f or f/m. I only watch f/f. There's just something about girls working each other that does it for me.

Women have nails, too. Nails are tortuous. Also women seem to fit the dominatrix profile better than males do. I don't know. I'm grabbing at straws here, but that's just how I've already reacted it to it.

I agree with Vae. I have a few tickling video DVD's and have seen women tickling and I do think they have a different method. I wouldn't mind a woman tickling me.

I wouldn't generalize quite that way. I would say at most that women seem to have an easier time learning to be good 'lers than men do. And on the whole I would say that women have an easier time exercising their sadism than men, which CAN make women more evil 'lers than men.

I don't think that this is anything as simple as having fingernails. For one thing not every 'lee likes nails. I think rather that the differences are social/cultural.

One of the most important qualities of a good 'ler is the ability to get inside the 'lee's skin - to understand how the 'lee is responding to what you're doing and to fine-tune your technique to get the best response. It's a touchy-feely sort of empathy that women are taught to do more readily than men. A man can learn it, certainly, but his learning curve is steeper and many men don't even know that they need this skill.

Another factor is sadism. Beginning very early on, boys are taught "don't hit girls." That's the beginning of a process that affects men for the rest of their lives. Any man decent enough to play with will have some inner processing to do before he can comfortably accept the idea of "torturing" someone he cares about, even with "harmless tickling." Women don't get that sort of socialization, so I think it's easier for them to overcome their inhibitions, especially since tickling is basically non-violent.

If I do say so myself, I'm a damned good sadistic 'ler. But I did have to overcome those hurdles and I think women have a shorter distance to go in getting good.

I agree with you there. I think that most women are keener observers of other people, so they often make better use of the feedback they get about their techniques from a 'lee's reactions.

I also think that women tend to be better ticklers of women because they are more likely than men to share the same tickling preferences, and to be sensitive in the same places. They tend to know when and where to be gentle without having to be told. 🙂

I'll have to disagree with you on that point, because although boys are taught not to hit girls, girls are taught not to be mean to anyone. I think that socialization has be at least as hard to overcome as that which boys get. And I think you can't simultaneously argue that men might be uncomfortable "torturing" someone with "harmless tickling," and then say that women would find it okay because it's "non-violent."

I agree with most of what Redmage said and I think women tend to be better lers because they are gentler in their tickling and men sometimes have a tendency to be too rough. I have had some tickle dates with several guys since I joined TMF and sometimes I do have to tell a guy while he's tickling me that he's hurting me and to stop. I don't think he means to but that's what happens sometimes.

From all that I've observed and everything that I've heard from women I know, the society of women is often at least as savage and sadistic as anything men do to one another. But I didn't say that. I said that men are socialized not to be cruel to women at all. Those that do - wife-beaters, for example - are despised by other men. I think the fact that it's non-violent does help with both men and women - men in general have a much easier time tickling a woman than they do spanking her, for example. But to really push a female 'lee's limits requires dipping into territory that men are taught from early childhood to stay out of.

If you ever have a chance to see gay male SM and tickling play I think you'll see some of what I mean. Men play MUCH harder and more sadistically with one another than they do with women.

Someone else mentioned another factor that might come into F/m play: role reversal. I don't doubt that many women relish the chance to make a man helpless and "torture" him in ways that they know can't do any lasting harm.

My all life tickling scenes and experiences says that definetly women r better ticklers for both genders regardless to reasons which i don't know!!!
although i avoid getting myself in ticklish situations but usually the lees laughter are much more affected by a female tickling touches than a male one,
Also the little tickle fights i've been through most of the reactions i get is only a small giggle or "stop it man doesn't tickle or it hurts",which are much different from silent laughter or hard laughter my female friends easily gets from me or my male and female friends,don't know why!!!?
So i think this tickling topic needs a tickle research for us to be equal ticklers and enjoy the fun

Raptor, take a look back on the thread and see some of the reasons people give for women's tickling skills. I think there's a lot there that a male 'ler could learn from.

I don't know about the whole 'ladies-being-better-ticklers-than-guys' thing ... I've seen some vids/clips where the woman LER has no clue what she's doing. But I'll tell you this , if she does know what she's doing , a woman tickling another woman is probably something I'd more like to watch !
