We don't need an Obama, we need someone who genuinely seems to care about Canadians instead of his or his party's own agenda...I think each party has their own agenda and want to put that first instead of willingly focusing on avenues for the greater good of Canadians overall. I'll tell ya...based on where I live, voting is a waste of time not because of the abovementioned but because the one party I can't stand always wins this riding, ALWAYS!!! Canada's government had been like that since Trudeau and his bullshit "Charter of Rights and Freedoms" witch basically entitles people to the same rights (short of the vote) as a citizen even if you've only been on Canadian soil for 10 secounds. It basically made becoming a citizen obsolete, because people could protest decisions the government made, even though the weren't citizens themselves, or even landed Imigrants. These people are quite often the first to complain about anything, even thought they have done nothing to add to the Canadian way of life, not to mention members of backward women beating cultures who really have no business in Canada to begin with.

Moses doesn't want a proud charismatic Canadian leader, he wants another Trudeau who is going to kiss the asses of every special interest groups that comes of the boat. To be quite honest I think Moses represents everything that is wrong with our countries Immigration system. He is an ungrateful bastard who has never done anything but shit all over the very country that provides him with an opportunity educate his children, vote on a leader, further his own education if her wanted and/or needed to. We have laws that protect the working class from abusive employers, laws the permit women the vote, laws that protect peoples religion... witch some how lead to the "Lords Prayer" being removed from the Public School Systems morning announcements.

Well I have some advice for you Moses. You want a leader like Obama, then make like Conrad Black, renounce your Canadian citizenship, pack up your shit, and take your Winny, ungrateful ass south of the boarder... as if the Yanks would have you. You whimpering little punk!

The thing I like best about Harper is the fact that he was one of (if not the first) world leader to speak up when Karzai was going to bring sharia law into Afghanistan's government policy. Most notably the one making it legal for men to force themselves on their wives if they don't have sex 1 every 4 days.

We can keep things like this for the next 50 years and I would be happy.

The thing I like about Canada is that both your liberals and conservatives know how to budget. You've run a budget surplus for quite a while now. You also seem like a comparatively less partisan country when it comes to politics. Here, politics have become absolutely venomous.

The Liberals tend to give money away to special interest groups hand over fist, I think they should go door to door and ask for it. However that would take real dedication to a cause rather then simply whimpering to a gutless government. It's a shame because on the other side the Conservatives will rip the working class a new ass hole and do everything to take rights away from unionized labourers. Ironically most Canadians aren't found of either the Liberal, PC, or NDP parties. They like Harper just a little more then Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff because Ignatieff spent 20 years working in the US, and once referred to it as "HIS AMERICA". He also offered to kick in with the Bloc Party (aka the FLQ) and the NDP to get Harper out of Office. This didn't please to many Canucks either.

Harper isn't perfect, but I will take him over a half ass excuse for a Canadian like Ignatieff any day.

I don't claim to know much about Obama, except that he's a good talker, and seems to want everybody in the US to have access to some degree of medical care. Witch in all honesty doesn't sound like a bad deal. Of course if your rich, or you are lucky enough to have a job with a good benefits plan, then why should you care if the other guy loses his house because his kid breaks his leg.I guess that's what it comes down to in the U$A.

As for Obama destroying our country, if he became Prime Minister. That was done along time ago.The formula was 1 part Liberal and 2 parts Conservative. I've already talked about the Liberal, so let me tell you about your party of choice. In the United States you call them Republicans, in Canada we call them Progressive Conservatives, one was Brian Mulroney, and the other was John Diefenbaker.

Diefenbaker's mistake was when he knuckled under to the American government and destroyed the Avro Arrow. At the time the Arrow was (in it's day) the most advances plane ever created, but it was far to expensive to make. So he tried to market it to the Americans who refused to buy it, and pressed him to destroy, not only the prototype, but the blue prints. If Diefenbaker (who wasn't a bad Canuck in the long run) had shown more balls he would have told the Yanks to fuck off, and sold the Arrow to the Russians. Then the your leaders would have been forced to buy the plane from us.

Brian Mulroney signed the free trade agreement with the United States... and that's enough.

Why would a politician have to put people ahead of Unions, the unions are their to protect the people from corporations exploiting them. I make a respectable wage, and I have decent benefits because of the Union I am in. They are run by people, so obviously they aren't perfect, but I am better off with one then I would be with out one.

Well I am tired of his lack of gratitude toward the country that lets him work, live, and educate his children (if he has any). If he thinks it's better on your side of the border, then I say he should try living there. He wants to believe everything we do wrong they do right in the USA, and he's right. However as soon as he gets sick, or hurt, he'll find out everything the American politicians do wrong our Politicians have been doing right for years.

I know over the years I've made some comments on some things the United States has done over the years, and believe me I have faced the wrath of my fellow forum members for doing it. I have also come down on my own countries inability to put it's foot down regarding certain things that go on up here. The truth is neither country is perfect, but they are a far cry better then allot of the shit holes through out the Middle East, most of Asia, and most of Africa. The truth is, if Moses isn't happy here (in Canada) then he won't be happy any where, because there isn't anyplace any better then where he is right now.

Ah, see in this you are wrong. While you may not be in a Union, the existence of them is why you get the wages and benefits you receive. The person (or persons) who run the company you work for, don't want to deal with the hastle of a union rep in their middle managements face, so they give you slightly less (just slightly) then what a Union Employee in your position would make. Now you think, hey if I can make 90% of what the union guy makes, and not have to pay Union Dues I come out ahead in the long run. However if Unions vanished Monday morning, so would all your benefits, and your wages would drop big time.

Now, look at how much you pay for a pair of shoes. They don't have unions in Taiwan, so is it the unions that coast the average Joe big bucks on the market, or is it the greed of the bosses who do.

You have no idea how he is treated by the wonderful people up there on a daily basis...the looks he gets for being a little "different"...the comments made...(such as your very own) all racial in nature....

Until you feel what it is like, dont begrudge him the right to complain....It is good you feel you live in the best place...I feel the same about my country...
