Why do people have to be mean?

Well Michael is NOT viewed as a truly evil guy.

No he isn't; he's viewed as something of a curiosity by the majority of people, and as such those people are wont to treat his death flippantly. Hence the wisecracks.

Have some tact. Have some class. Is it really that hard? I have seen this type of behavior over the years. Why do people have to "rain on the parade" of others? Why?

My question is why some people feel the need to wail and gnash when some bloke they didn't know dies. Every death is a sad event, but come on; he was some pop star from the eighties whose personal life was dogged by allegations, who managed to end up bankrupt despite being possessed of a vast fortune and owning the rights to The Beatles' songs, who hasn't released anything in years and who you and I didn't know personally. Why is it such a big deal to you?

Kis, you really don't want to get into a semantic argument with me.

Again, more personal attacks. Do you think maybe that's what imploded your other thread?

Kis, I absolutely believe you. And it will be utterly wrong, and I'll say so at the time. You'd better bar me from that thread when the time comes.

If you're calling what I've been saying personal attacks, you truly don't know me. And yes, personal attacks imploded the other thread; did you expect me to claim otherwise? But you brought those on yourself; I and others have done it in the past so you aren't alone. Just deal with it and move forward.

I'm done here; if you want to be touchy you're certainly within your right to do so. The bottom line is this; you knew what you were doing so don't get all offended when someone calls you on it.

Wow....some pop star from the eighties. I'm not gonna hold that against you, tho.

Hey, even I was a little surprised that I actually cried a little when I read the news reports of his death. I don't know the guy at all, so it was kinda a weird feeling. I only grew up listening to my parents music (Jackson 5), listening to his songs and FINALLY watching his videos on MTV. He had a HUGE impact on my life. That's why I feel so sad.

Of course people are entitled to their opinion, nobody's denying that. Just save the stupid snide comments to get attention for something else. I take the negativity personally because I don't do that to other people's threads. Does that make me a better person because I don't go around spewing negativity in a thread clearly not made for that? Maybe it does, who knows?

People keep saying "take the high road and don't say anything". I'll try.

MEAN PEOPLE SUCK!

Because Billie Jean II will never be released anymore!!!! :dom:

Yeah!

C'mon. How dare you question the fans from planet earth? Unless you are an alien.

:pie:

It's not really sides as much as it is opinions. And that's normal, especially considering the circumstance.

The only thing some folks are 'wrong' for is slamming at each other. Not for having an opinion on the over-all situation.

Agreed....and that is what I meant,,,:harleyhugsjoker:

Any time a musician or celebrity dies, we mourn for the loss of things that will not be done by them in the future...

I cried at the senseless death of John Lennon knowing that a great artist (whose music was a big part of my life) would never again write and perform...

I feel the same about Michael Jackson and other greats that have passed before him...

At the age of 55 I have seen far too many great actors, comedians, and musical geniuses leave this world...I mourn the loss of all....

For though I knew none of them personally, their work has touched me on a personal level and contributed to the person I am today......

Everyone that touches us in some way changes us forever and contributes to the people that we are....

They do it because it's a little bit of power, just a second or two to get some attention or to make something happen, in a world where we really can't do much & don't have much power. It's what humans do.

BEST QUOTE ALL DAY

I told a friend about this thread, and he said "tell both sides to just Beat it, unless they Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', which is just Human Nature."

:bwahaha:

Honestly I don't think a whole lot of thought goes into it. It's just wanting to express themselves, same as everyone else. Everyone else is talking about something and they have an opinion on it? Cool. Blah blah blah blah...

The real question would be why do some people not pick and choose where and when they say what they feel the need to...

Why is it they don't take into consideration time/place/crowd mentality?

Your friend needs to write for Saturday Night Live, which has not been funny in almost a decade.

Good one though Bella. LOL.

Tell them great job.

Rob

Bella, I Can't Help It, but that's Off The Wall; even Bad. Tell your friend to Ease On Down The Road.

I think we can just Blame It On The Disco. But that Modern Man might have just been trying to Keep The Faith.

As far as I can see this is not a Black Or White case; it's not as easy as A, B, C, easy as 1, 2, 3, easy as Do-Re-Mi, A, B, C, 1, 2, 3 BABY YOU AND ME GIIIIRL
