Why don't YOU go to gatherings?

The reason why is becuase I can't afford to go,I have no access to a car,and no Gatherings ever happen here in Las Vegas(for the Vegas Footnight parties are the closest thing to a Gathering),otherwise I would be all over the place at a Gathering(tickling all of the ladies there,and then being tickled by them).

I could actually get to London, but I've never actually considdered it before. I suppose a few issues might arise based on assumptions I'm making of the event:

1) I don't know anyone to go with.
This might lead to me feeling a little bit awkward. This is a problem I could sort out myself.

2) I'd probably need to stay overnight in London, which = £'s
This is more of a problem, since I live in the North West of England I'd be taking a 2 hour train ride down to London (though a trip I've made a few times so it's not too hard), and I'd probably rather stay the day and night and go back the next. Do you guys offer links to places that offer cheap accomodation?

3) Concern that there won't be many people of my age group/interests.
What people actually attend the event?

In truth, I've only ever glanced over the gathering suggestions, but you never know I might turn up at some point.

Personally I'm new to this kind of thing (this is my first post even) and have only just turned 18. Perhaps I'll go one day, but I'd like to be more familiar with the general tickling community first.

In all honesty..time and time for me ... Id love to go and I have a mate who would love to go too, however time again stops me/us from attending anything. I dont live too far away either damn it! Sadly my business has to come before pleasure and my mate is in the army so goes away on postings fairly regularly!

One day i'd like to get to a gathering. But most seem to be London based and i live as far south as you can get bar hopping over the water to an island.

I cant get to London. For one i dont know the area too well. Two i'd probably be heading on my own. Which to my family who are all likely to worry, means someoene will ask questions. They dont know how far my fetish runs in my veins.

Up north is even further.

South is better but again, it has to be not too far away. Otherwise like someone else here it'd mean money which i cant afford much of right now.

I'm ready for a party.. I'm sure i'd like it. Thats not the problem. Its getting there, without too much hassle.

I was planning on going to the last London T-party, in 2007, but I couldn't get hold of train tickets.

Since then, I organised a Birmingham munch, to which 6 people turned up. Considering that it was the first one, I feel like it was rather a success.

I think the reason many people don't go might be becuase of embarassment/shyness.

It's strange, really, but understandable. Many tk-people can't even say the words "tickling" or "ticklish" without getting hot under the collar. The very idea of them turning up to a munch where people would be talking about tickling (amongst other things 😛) is completely ludicrous! I know that's how I felt about my fetish for a long time...

The main issue I have with the london T-party is that I need to find a train back to Notts in the evening, which would mean I'd be cutting the munch short. Any chance of them starting earlier? (not necessarily finishing later)

@ cradock; as far as being too young is concerned, the youngest we had was 18, and at the last one most of us were 18-24.

And the 24 year old was complaining she was too old....

I'm 19 and the 4th highest poster on UKTF, the highest is all of 22 years old. So far I think I've missed 2 T Parties (under 18 for the first one, out of the country or something for the second) and the Northern Munch because I couldn't get there. Don't worry, it's highly unlikely you'll be the youngest there, and half the people that turn up are university students, or just out of it.

Just to say that the T-Parties are great fun, and if you seriously want to come to the gatherings that happen in the UK they are the best place to start.

Also, there is a smaller Munch coming up in Leeds in a fortnight that myself and my other half are putting together, all details on the UKTF so go! Now! Go!

You'd get to meet people who share this interest. This would give you one place on the planet where, IRL, you'd be able to talk about this interest without fear.

It'd mean friends who get you. Who not only understand, they know.

The friendships shared in this interest can be a great deal of goodness.

FWIW, *I* hosted the first gathering in England. I was there on biz. Paid to stay a few days longer to host. One of the guests was from Germany.

Out here in California, I've had folks come from as far as Hong Kong and London.

It's all about your motivation to meet folks into this. Honestly.
