Why r there so many gays in the tickling community?

I can see where he is coming from. Ive been on here for a few years and I have recently noticed a lot more m/m, not my thing so I overlook it. But if you include f/f as "gay" than his numbers while a bit high, may still be somewhat accurate. I don't think homosexuality is a predisposed bit of this fetish, I just think that since it is the internet people can openly express their true sexuality without judgement. I know in a perfect world we as a fetish community would not be judged in public, but that will never happen. I think there is an overwhelming population here that would never go out in public wearing an "I <3 tickling feet" T shirt, we would get looks ha ha.

Just like we flock to this forum to get our tickle fix, Im sure the gay community flocks to their internet forum for their ability to express themselves without judgement. For we lucky ones we have wives or gfs that have no problem letting us indulge in tickling them, and are open with our fetish (to our significant others), there are probably some gay people in the same situation and don't need the internet to express themselves. But for some its necessary, so if your gay and into tickling, where is the best place to come and not be judged? here! ha ha I bet there is a gay community forum somewhere out there where there is a guy asking "is tickling part of a predisposition in our gay community, ive noticed a lot more tickling posts here..."

Where there is internet discussion about sex, there will be every kink imaginable. And I think its just so happens there are a few more gay people on here lately than before.
 
Ok, got some good answers so far. I think the main thing is that people on a sexual fetish chat are generally open to their sexuality. It might mean that there are more gay people in everyday life than we think and only here are they open about it.

For all those who criticized my 60% estimate: read back a bit and you can see where I said that it was a bit of an irrelevant exaggeration. The point is there are a lot of gay people here and if you think inaccurate then I'll show you the many gay PM's in my inbox, like many others could.

More importantly, for all those who inappropriately criticized my purpose for starting this thread: read back a bit and you can see where I said that this was strictly an objective thread. I said that I knew certain people were going to misconstrue what I said, and create their own harsh reasons for why I posted it, which are completely wrong. Just because I asked why there are so many gays, does not mean I'm "worrying" about it, it doesn't mean it "bothers" me, and it doesnt mean I have a "problem" with it. It was simply a topic of discussion that did generate some interesting thoughts. This is a place for discussion right? Don't be mad cause I tell it like it is and not how it should be.
 
If I had the inclination to evaluate the sexuality (or what have you) of the people on this forum, and if I were to use my pm box as a sample, I'd say that at least 98.576% of the folk around here are illiterate heterosexual men with no social skills.

If you're so terribly concerned about who's shagging who, that's your issue. Not anyone else's.

Been here like six years and aside from a handful of people, mostly girls, I haven't noticed this huge influx in homosexuals, sorry.

Does it really bother you? lol it's 2010 guys.

In our world today, people have sadly lost the fine art of exaggeratting, maybe that'll come back in the future.
 
I think any sort of percentage guess is silly. You just have absolutely no way to know what percentage of the total members of this site are straight, gay, bi, etc... By basing your estimate on just those that actively post, or go to the chatroom, or send pm's, then you are basing that estimate on a very small sample size of the total members.

That being said, I do think generally, men are just far more forward than women. In the eight years, I have been this site, I have received zero flirtatious pm's from women that I don't know. However, from time time to time, I'll get a pm from some guy I've never heard of who saw me post something, and thus decides he wants to pm to see if I'm interested in m/m.

It's just a difference between how men and women act on this forum. I'm sure if you ask the women in this thread how many pm's they get from random guys that want to tickle them or do lord knows what, they would all tell you its a lot.

Basically, I don't think there's any significantly number of gay people on this forum than in life generally. It can just appear that way because men are far more forward than women, and the straight men aren't interested in pm'ing you.

I'd not have a clue as to how many people at the TMF are gay, Steve, however keep in mind that tickling is in many ways associated with feet fetishists, and there are more then a few very large feet fetish sites which focus on homosexual males for memebers and content. Because of that, i'm sure more then a few come here looking for other gay males or any number of other things. As the TMF is open to all, it only makes sense we would have such people who are members to those groups joining here as well.

I think some of the females here only claim to be lesbians for this very reason.
 
I have noticed that there are quite a few gay people here as opposed to how many gay people I meet in my day to day travels. That's only because people are going to be pretty open with people on an internet forum as opposed to the real people they know in their lives. I think the gay percentage here should be pretty much the same as what it is worldwide, it's just this is a place where it is easier to be open about it!

Same goes for the straight people here. Would we go around telling everyone that we like tickling and what not in our everyday life? Most likely you wouldn't. I most certainly wouldn't yet I'll tell you lot because I don't have to see your faces when I head down to the local shops or whatever!
 
I will even admit that in the past, ive claimed to be a lesbian on here just to have a better chance of meeting a woman. :shock2:

I'm one of the less than 2% that is straight. We are a downtrodden minority here.
 
I think it's more likely you notice Gay/Bi people more here than you do in real life. In real life you don't have little stickers on you that state your sexual preference. Whereas on the forums you do.

I've never noticed any different ratios than normal.
