I'm watching the third episode "France Falls"...I can't help but think that history will repeat itself.

How a country could rest on its laurels and rely on an ancient warfare (trenches and border-length fortresses) only to get pushed backwards by modern mechanized warfare coupled with air support.

It's a good series with Laurence Oliver narrating. Bought the whole DVD set years ago. If it was VHS, it would be worn out.

I used to watch this series on TV.........................

before The History Channel was on the air.

That's a great series. I wish the History Channel would air it, in place of some of the nonsense they show. 🙁

I remember watching that series when I was a kid in the 70's.

My favorite episode was No. 17 called "Morning", which was about D-Day.

It's been airing on one of the History or Military History channels. Don't see it in the guide at the moment, but I catch it every few days. I have Verizon Fios, if that helps. Loved it when I was a kid & still love it. The way Olivier just tells the story is absolutely brilliant. He packs so much feeling into it.
