I've done it and it even happened to me once

Fifteen or so years ago I was alone at the beach, walking the coastline when I saw a bathing beauty resting still, eyes closed. She was alone, no second beach towel, etc., anywhere near her. I tickled her feet and while I'm not sure I got her good (who knows, maybe her feet were not ticklish) I sure got her attention. Lacking the courage to try to strike up a conversation, I kept moving as I told her, "Just wanted to make sure you were alive." I looked back a couple times. The first time she was just staring though didn't seem mad, just surprised. The second time, she was laughing.

Yeah, I should have stayed or at least gone back to see if I could pick her up or get a phone number. I had not yet realized you should not quit when you're a man, make the woman fire you.

The time it happened to me was in college. I was seated outside the student center on a walkway ledge, the stairs on one side, the handicap path on the other. Two girls came out of the building and when I looked, they got a little self-conscious as one was being silly and the other acting embarrassed to be with her. As they walked past me my back was to them and the one who was acting embarrassed tickled my ribs saying something like, "My friend ain't quite right today."

This is false reasoning. The hypothetical girl in question just might find the fellow making the approach attractive, if he's her type, caresses rather than pokes, and she's in the right mood. An unexpected pass between two straights may be accepted or may be refused. If accepted, she'd simply interact the way she does with any guy, more or less.

This is not the case for a straight man approached by a gay.

Yup - I do it all the time! Not that I condone this type of behaviour, and I'm sure you can get in a boatload of trouble for doing it, but I have yet to be slapped or arrested!

About 5 years ago, I had buried my sister under the sand at a beach in chicago, and had a sign that said 'tickle me' on it...and people came by to give a casual couple strokes, and it was hell for her all day long...

Now when we go to the beach, she makes sure she is nowhere around me..I wodner why???

In my experience, most straight guys don't have their sexuality tattooed on their foreheads. So the gay guy making the pass could make the same argument: "Hey, maybe he'll find me attractive."

In both cases, it's pretty darn unlikely that the sleeping recipient would wake up and think "Wow, he's hot" rather than "Hey, who's touching me". Which I assume is why the original question posits that you "won't get caught." Not getting caught is rarely a concern for someone making a legit pass.

I wouldn't, it takes part of the fun out of tickling. I like the interaction between the two parties almost more than the actual tickling. If you just randomly went up and tickled someone, their reaction would probably not be like the reaction of a close friend or significant other. Plus, it's just creepy...
