Would you choose to be a child actor or be an adult actor?

I am just curious as to if you wanted to be an actor, if you had the choice would you rather be a child actor going into adulthood or begin acting as an adult? Looking forward to replies.

Adult. That way I would have no one else to blame for the drinking binges and running over papparazi, throwing my money away while waiting for the sleeping pills to take effect because I'm misunderstood.

Neither in my case but when you think about all the child actors who wind up as wack jobs when they get older i would start out a bit older myself.

Or Jay North from Denise the Menace.

Alfalfa or Buckwheat from the Our Gang comedies.

After seeing a lot of his interviews, I have to say that he's cleaned his life up pretty darn good.

Well...Aside from the naked dancing stuff, anyway.

Yeah, a lot of child stars develop huge problems later on life mainly because their parents are living through their children. Prime example right now is Lindsey Lohan.

But some turn out okay like Amanda Bynes.

But I rather be an adult actress than a child actress. An adult is better able to handle the spotlight.

As a kid, you're very much more a potential victim. As adult, you can do your own research, accept blame when you f'it up. Can't blame it on Mommy and Daddy.

Adult. Very few famous child actors make it once they've grown up. For every Jodie Foster who does manage it, there's dozens like Macauley Culkin and Mark Lester who just see the scripts dry up.

adult actor. as many have pointed out too many kid actors have had a horrible time after their career ended. and as an adult actor you have more say as to what roles you wanna play.

I see Jay North mentioned above. Did things go wrong in his adult life? The wikipedia entry on him shows that he quit acting and had completely different forms of employment as a adult, but if that's all, then he's one of the luckier ones.

There are, however, a few sterling success stories, the biggest being Ron Howard. I would guess that the majority of child actors have stories that aren't on any extreme: I think the majority of child actors just disappear from the limelight and have more conventional private lives as adults.

Being a nudist, by the way, I've done loads of naked dancing, because there's always a nighttime dance at every nudist resort or naturing gathering I've ever been to. Not sure what kind Danny Bonaduce's done.
