your most & least favorite wrestlers

The thread about wrestlers being cut got me to thinking. Let's imagine that Vince is here reading this thread and is planning to make decisions based on fan opinions. With me so far?

Now, let's imagine that it's up to us to help him decide who what to do with each guy. So, pick one wrestler you'd like to see get a push (or continue getting one),one you think needs to go back to OVW for more training but want to see back and one who you want to see cut completely.

Here are the guidelines:
1. You have to pick someone who's currently contracted to the WWE...brand doesn't matter.
2. You can only pick one person in each category. So, go with your top choice.
3. You have to give a solid reason why you want either. Don't simply say "I like him/her." or "I hate him/her."

I'd like to keep this thread serious and on topic. So, anti-wrestling posts, gag posts, etc. will be deleted. ( 😱 Hey, it's my thread! 😛 )

OK....ready?

. ------------------------------------------------------------

My choices -

1. Give a push - Randy Orton - I know he's already getting somewhat of a push. But, his ring skills are excellent...both mike and technical. The fans love him. He's got tons of potential both in where he's going and the possible story lines they use him for. I think it would be a shame to not use him as much as possible.

2. Send to OVW - Mark Gindrack - He's got a good physique and somewhat decent ring presence. But, his technical skills are kind of sketchy. I also have yet to hear him say much. I think he could end up being another good one with a bit more work.

3. Cut completely - Gene Snitski - The guy cant wrestle. He can't speak well. And he's sloppy. He's going to end up hurting someone. He seems to muscle bound to break out of the pattern without a ton of work...which I frankly don't thik he's worth.

OK, them's my choices. Next contestant.....?

1. give a push to Randy Orton. I think Vince messed up big time by having Orton win the belt at SummerSlam, only to give it back to HHH. That made no sense, and I think he realizes he messed up

2.Gail Kim needs to go back to OVW, to tighten up her skills, because although awesome, her finishing holds are sloppy and hurts people. Victoria once complained she went too far on a couple holds and hurt her

3.JBL needs to be cut completely. I think he's a joke of a World Champion, and wasn't that good a tag team specialist, either

I'll even add another category, One who should not get a push soon, if ever, and that is HHH himself. I like him as a wrestler, but I am sick of him using politics to have him keep the belt where there is so many others worthy of holding it

All "JBL" is, is a re-hashed Million $ Man clone and with Orlando, he is even more just an updated version of him.

I could not agree more with what you said about HHH....but being the boss' son-in-law carries a lot of stroke backstage.

Gail has already been released by the WWE. Care to pick someone else? 😉

You people are asking to cut some of the top players in the two brands, which is kinda ridiculous. Gene Snitsky has turned into a top heel on Raw and destroyed Kane on his own. As far as JLB goes, I hate him and Vince never should of made him a top guy but he does get a good amount of heat as Smackdowns top heel.

Give a major push to the "Animal" Batista. I know Orton personally and love the guy but he already has been known as the youngest champ ever. He will be getting his push again as the WWE wants him vs Triple H at WM. Batista needs to break loose of EVO and first go for the intercontinental championship.... The guy has it all, great look also.. Only thing is his mic skills need a little work.

Jindrak was worthless back in 2000 when he was holding the tag belts in WCW with Sean O'Haire. He's still worthless. If he hasn't improved by now: I don't think OVW can help him. There are some things that are beyond even Cornette...

Anyway:

Cut: Heidenreich. Stiff and sloppy, a bad, bad combination. He's already injured Steven Richards twice from back when he was on Raw. How many more chances does he get?

Push: Charlie Haas. He deserves better than to turn into the Marty Janetty of The World's Greatest Tag Team. He looks good, wrestles well, and he comes with Miss Jackie. If he gets completely forgotten now that Rico is gone, it'll be a waste.

OVW: I could agree with Gail Kim, but since the women's division has been eviscerated, I'll say send Snitsky back there and see if he can actually pick something up this time.

Can it be from another divison?

The WWE should hire Monty Brown from TNA, then give him a push. I'd like to see him against Batista or Heidenreich. But first:

Send Heidenreich to OVW for about a year.

And cut Ric Flair. I know, I know, 17 time champ, the "Natcha Boy", the dirtiest player in the game. Ric was great, but how many times can we laugh at his "fall down fowards" bit? It's time, even Austin and Foley knew when to walk away.

Tron

Yes...he's the son of Cowboy Bob Orton, and the grandson of Bob Orton Sr....a third generation wrestler.

OT comments deleted.

OK, then, how about Batista? He could be really good, but right now he is all about power moves, and anyone who makes him wrestle gives him problems. He needs to go back a fine-tune his power game, and add some wrestling moves, and he'll be unbeatable

How's that, Redskin fan??😛

Yeah. Batista is one of many I would consider sending back for more training. Another one with potential if he can get it together.

Push randy Orton? Isn't he already the top face on Raw and a former World Champion? I think that qualifies as a push. Here's my picks:

Push NICK Dinsmore. Lose the idiotic Eugene gimmick. It is offensive and insults my intelligence. Dinsmore is a great technical wrestler, and deserves better than this. Have any of you seen his OVW matches with Chris Benoit? The man can flat out wrestle.

Cut Kane. I hate this guy. OK, i don't hate him personally, i hate his ring work, I hate his gimmick, I hate everything he brings to the table. His offense is weak looking, and the "monster" thing went out in the 80s. Either take him off TV for 6 months and repackage him, or just cut him lose.

I don't really have anyone for them to retrain, but I think they amde a mistake with some of the recent cuts. I think with some experiance, Gail Kim would have been a great edition to the women's division (plus, she was nice to look at.) I also think breaking up the FBI and cutting Johnny Stamboli and Chuck Palumbo ws a big mistake. Both guys were very good workers, and looked great. (anyone remember when Stamboli gorilla pressed Rikishi?) They were a great mid-card clique.

Push- Charlie Hass because he looks good in the ring. Has a good image and miss jackie. Not too bad with mic, so maybe more talking and put him in bigger matches and see what happens.

OVW- Heidenreich because he appears sloppy. Matches with him seem to not flow with him and he would probably hurt somebody. So send him down.

Cut- Steven Richards. What can you do with him. He is hardly on TV and was dressed up like a woman sometime ago, so I don't think there is anything left for him.

CUT Teddy Long... Please bring back Shane or Steph and get rid of this guy.. I can't stand anymore of him... Ya feel that, playa?

No, but I'll hollar hollar hollar anyway, playa! LOL 😀

Lets see...

Push:....hmm....its hard to say since alot of guys deserve a push. For now I'd say Booker T. I think they put too much emphasis on his past as a five time, five time, five time WCW champion, and not enough on what he is today and what he would be capable of if they gave him more of a push and opportunity.

That whole thing with Book calling Jordan a "house boy" right in front of JBL was actually pretty funny. LOL 😀

He's got decent mic skills too, and his wrestling ain't that bad either but could be better. He makes a good face character rather than a heel.

It seems he's already getting said Push with JBL and a title shot though. So good, but I hope it doesn't end there.

OVW- Kane, believe it or not even though he's been around the block. I can't watch RAW nowadays because I currently don't have cable anymore, but even then Kane just seemed to not be as good as he was before the mask came off, even though he's more agressive. I don't know if they're telling him to act big and slow and uncoordinated, but I know he's not those things and is capable of more.

If he is, it needs to come out. And maybe going back for some training will help him realize his full potential. Unless they are intentionally holding him back, which honestly doesn't make any sense.

CUT- Christian. I haven't seen him wrestle in a long time either, but I never really felt the spark with this guy, even before he turned all whiney. He doesn't seem to fit any particular role, he's sort of just 'there'. Quite frankly his presense as a wrestler irritates me. He used to be good, but he's not anymore in my opinion. They either need to try something different with him, send him back for trainin, or can him. I don't like it whenever anyone gets fired or "let go" as we put it so gently, but I don't see him earning his wage.

cut- Hedenrich ?SP?. he is trying to be a brock lesnar and snitsky. not really working he's pathetic if you ask me and really sloppy.
also steven richards.. dont see much for him.
cristian- he is very annoying and like stated above he isn't a good heel, just a waste of time

push- Kane. he's been wrestling new guys and giving them a tough image [snitsky] and he only held the title for one day.

OVW- hedenrich, if they wont cut him. orton, i like him but he needs more then a punch and forarm to win the title again.

f/f

FF, Orton?????? He has way more then a forearm punch.. Maybe you missed his classic hardcore match with Foley...

I think that Kurt Angel should get cut.

Cut Angle? Please be kidding! He's the only one on Smackdown that's actually worth a damn.

Please get rid of Regal!! The guy freaking sucks and is worthless.

I so thought the "Animal" known as Batista was getting a push tonight and leaving EVO..... All good things come to a end....

Regal does need to be let go....also either drop Kane or re-invent him.

Maybe so, but how often do we ever get to see his pure skills shine?

This is the problem with wrestling- they aren't allowed to...well...wrestle. They're told in advance to try and compliment eachother's moves and intentionally "pull their punches", if you want to put it that way.

If they weren't restricted people like Angle and Benoit would dominate both shows, no, the entire business. But they can't allow this, just like they can't allow Taker, Show, or Kane to just use their brute strength. And I don't mean it just because of the physical dangers.

Its just as much a "pulling of the punches" as it is a pulling of the character and their trained regiment. They train and train and for what? So they can be told how much of their strength, speed, and stamina they can use?

This is why they look "sloppy" in the execution of the moves, because they are being held back and they figure that if they can't do what they want to do, then why should they try so hard? If all about the appearances and the gimmicks anyways, and those are the money makers, and they know it, then would you blame them for being lazy or fet up?

I think what makes Angle annoying is that he brags alot but is only ever given the chance to back it up at PPVs and exceptional matches with wrestlers at his caliber. If he could do as he pleases with consideration to safety, more people would actually like him and respect him, and he'd be even more of a fan favorite because he would legitimize what he says through what he does in the ring as well as out.

Just like with Kane, we know he's cabable of more, but he isn't allowed to be, because that would offset the balance and would be unfair to the other wrestlers for not being good enough in their technical moves or strong enough, whichever would apply to a superiour wrestler. So as as result, his wrestling doesn't look good.

This calls into question the legitimacy of this very thread anyways.

We're talking about cutting people or sending them back for re-training and pushing them as if it's their fault they're like this. Most of these guys don't need it, the veterans that is. Its not themselves that are holding them back, its the system of the business, and how it works.

Everybody would love Kane and Angle if they were allowed to go all out. The same would apply to others as well, and you'd only ever dislike them as personalities and by allignment(face/heel)because thats what the plot wants and requires from us to make them believable.

We're treating this like they're doing their best and are just plain falling short. In most of the cases, they're being intentionally forced to fall short. Its like they've got a leash on and can only so do much of what they want to do. They train and train just so their bodies can handle this business then, thats basically what it is. Thats where the buck stops for them unfortunately.

If wrestling was allowed to be real and unstaged, there'd be no control over it and it would be completely random even if safety could be assured. But it would be more entertaining. As a business which thrives just as much on the storylines it writes, they obviously have to have order and predictability and let those who should win (according to the plot), win, rather than those that would have (according to reality).

Either there needs to be more consideration for reality and would happen in it when deciding the matches, or wrestling needs to be completely real, the talent's paychecks raised (because of the dangers), and the wrestling unbarred.

We wouldn't have to pretend like this, and things would be as they should by natural selection. We'd then be assured the best talent at all times, and the unsatisfactory talent would be weeded out. But this won't happen, now will it? No, theres still alot of milking to be done of the icons they've created and the stories they've told.
