what are you wrestling fans thoughts about the "brand extension"? good or bad? i think it is both. ever since the WWF bought WCW, we all knew sooner or later the company had to be divided. the good side of this is that people will get more TV time, and it is a chance to start new fueds and build new people into main event status. after all, Rock, HHH, Undertaker, and SCSA have dominated the main event status for a long time. Jericho and Angle are there are well, but it is usually the "big 4" we always see. now that they are split up, maybe some new blood can get there and fued with them like Edge. i think even Booker T can make it HUGE in the WWF. he makes a good bad guy, but he can also make a good "face". it was quite interesting that RAW has most of the main "heels", while Smackdown has most of the main "faces". this gives opportunities for others to step in. this makes the split good.

but, deep down it sucks. why? you can only see Rock, or Hogan, or SCSA or Angle ONCE a week. what about pay per views? what about the IC champ, the European champ, and especially the Tag champs? will they bring back the WCW title belts such as Tag team, US Heavywieght, and others? it will be interesting. question is, HHH for example can go between both of the shows, but what about AFTER he loses the title. then what? who's show does he go to?

this split is definitely "interesting". how it pans out remains to be seen. anybody else have an opinion?

i think it will give some wrestlers that have been overshadowed by others a chance to shine..such as Kane..probably as Flairs henchman.. it will give you a chance to see what former tag teams can do as individuals..they have been breaking them up along the way anyhow trying to get new matchups and storylines...it takes out the NWO is going to kill the wwf storyline, which got old before it started. but yeah there will be problems...like not everyone getting enuf screen time..i'm pretty sure stone cold hates it..thats why he has'nt been around since the last pay-per-view. and what becomes of heat on sunday..who gets that? i guess like everything they will play the story for a while and see if it flies...they always have ways to go back to the way it was...i did hear they might start having two pay-per-views a month at some point. who knows maybe more shows during the week also..60 wrestlers is alot to fit into 4 hours. and not enuf belts to go around....i guess time will tell...but as to whether i like it or not...so far i would have to say yes...

The only problem I have with the split is knowing what wrestlers are gonna be on each show. I enjoy being surprised who's gonna come out on Smackdown or Raw.

Drew.

I'm pretty pissed off about the split. Where I live, in lovely 🙄 Jacksonville, North Carolina, we don't get UPN. I can't believe it. Digital Cable, with roughly 300-something channels, and NOT ONE OF THEM IS UPN???!!! For a long time, I've been going without Smackdown, but now, I feel this sh*t has got to go. Either that, or Time-Warner needs to start offering UPN among its huge list of channels, including 14 HBOs that all show the SAME FRIGGIN' THING!

Simply put, I am not fond of this split. I'm not sure what logic they were using when picking talent, but it seems all the decent people are on Smackdown. (Rock, Austin, etc.) I am not happy about this one bit.

It can be a good thing. I mean wcw was an ok alternative to wwf when it was still on. I think it will give us an option to see more wrestlers and better stories i would hope. But on the other hand it kinda blows because all the people we are used to seeing together all the time wont be anymore. The dudly break up sucks ass. But wwf was getting a bit stale with no one else to choose from. This may give us all a little bit of variety. I dunno. I am just waiting to se how it will be. Who knows. And a side note. Just to brag a bit. I was at wrestlmania just this past couple weeks ago. It was awesome and i had great seats. I also went to smack down that week in cleveland. Good time all around. I love pro wrestling, i am a huge dork i guess. Its my soap opera

Re why Smackdown has a bigger percentage of the stars, take your pick for an explanation:

a) Smackdown generally has heavier competition (NBC's Thursday night lineup, Survivor, etc). At least until Monday Night Football starts again.

b) Vince wants to make sure "his" show is the more successful one.

c) Since UPN is a broadcast network, it reaches more people than cable does, and therefore it's more desirable to advertisers.

None of which, of course, is much comfort to wrestling fans who can't get UPN where they live. Maybe you can team up with Buffy fans and Trekkies and nag your local cable company to pick up UPN.

I think that the split will be a good thing, because they can bring back some of the "Alliance" wrasslers who had to leave because there wasn't enough time for everyone. It should also lure some of the guys who haven't yet come to the WWF for the same reason. The WWF has already agreed to a contract with Rey Mysterio Jr. and I hope they can get more guys like him and finally have a respectable cruiserweight division.

On a side note, I've read that Sunday Night Heat will be like a show that reviews the action from the previous week from both shows, and pushes matches for the coming week.
