This issue really brings Midge into the lives of Gretchen and Yelena. Midge was just kind of floating through life when she came across Yelena's want ad in the prior issue. When she showed up for the interview, she saw Yelena and Gretchen tickling each other, and was overcome with emotion. Now that she's arrived, the interview begins, in only manner befitting Yelena.

While we sadly say goodbye to Rennie, a very talented colorist who colored several of our prior issues, we warmly welcome Jadecks to the Yelena series. Jadecks has colored many of the recent Ruthless issues, and his vision brings Arturo's lines to life in a gorgeous way. The artwork in this issue is just stunning, and a fantastic sign of things to come from this pair!

Here is a partial panel of Gretchen and Midge in the shower. It shows the evolution of the artwork from pencils, to inks, to colors/letters.

Arturo's lines in this issue really are incredible. He's taken a huge step forward in quality, anatomy, backgrounds, and just cleanliness. It made Jadecks' (the new colorist) job much easier. And the colors really complement Arturo's lines.

One of my favorite Yelena issues from an artistic point of view. Definitely top 3.

Here is page 1 of Yelena #11. We start to see two distinct schools within Yelena's school for witches. The first school of magic is taught by Yelena, and is powered by brain power and sheer memorization and studious focus by her students. The second school is taught by Gretchen, and is less book based, and more based on emotional engagement with magical ebbs and flows. Gretchen has a rather special manner in which to teach students to harness this energy, and she shows some of that to Midge in this issue.

Tickle Magnet #10 has pencils/inks approved, it will shortly enter the coloring phase. For Mrs. Duthie, I think the answer is probably not at this point.
