There are flies on the odd occasion, particularly around the Niagara Falls area in the summer.

Just be wary if you ever go to the Interior of British Columbia, though. Never mind the flies - the mosquitoes there are motherfuckers! 😉

Funny thing is, I've actually been in Saskatchewan in the summer, twice. However, I was only passing through on both occasions. That's probably why I missed 'em!
