Yet another bombing...

I'm sitting here watching the news and I see it again.

This time they say he was a 22 year old man. He likely walked from Bethlehem to blow himself up next to a busload of mostly children in transit for school.

19 people died and 50 were injured. MOST of them children. NONE of whom were military. NONE of whom had a say in political matters. On a smaller scale, it reeks of the World Trade Center attack. To see the body bags laying in the street....sickening. Yet, I'm sure the "martyr" will have his picture circulated among the Palestinian children as they try to cultivate the next crop of bombs with legs.

The Pal. Authority comdemned the act that is claimed by Hammas, but how many times have we heard that one? I fear for the innocents on both sides...I fear for the whole Middle East, and more so I fear for the people who live all over this planet who don't seem to think there is a world beyond their garden gate.

My normally sunny disposition is clouded right now. Not often the news brings tears to my eyes, but it has today...and I'm just at a loss as to how it can continue.

Joby...looking for wisdom in a world without wise men.

Wisdom...

It's not a matter of lack of "wise men" (or women, for that matter)...it's that we need to recognize evil when we see it, and act appropriately upon it. If this were happening in any of our States, the PLA would be a smoking hole in the ground by now, Hamas and it's affiliates would be running for their collective lives, and (hopefully), we'd be working out a behind the scenes solution for the noncombatants. It has to be very frustrating to be an Israeli right now....how do you not consider the rest of the world an enemy, when those you allow among your people perform these acts of horror? I can only assume their restraint is imposed either by outside influence (that would be us), or a long term view of what it will take to make peace in the region. Regardless, their patience is beyond any we would show....amazing at times. :sowrong:

Hmmm....Either get blown up piece by piece or risk being blown entirely out of existence while you try to escape the situation. Actually, had it not been going on for so long, I'd have chosen the same stance. But, since there is obviously no end near in this constant struggle, I'd bomb the hell out of them and be done with it.

It's sad to see anyone get killed in a war. But, when innocents are targetted, it's repulsive. If Israel does fight back, there will still be innocents killed. But, it will likely prove to be the lesser of the two evils.

Funny how we've gone from "The Devil Made Me Do It" to "God Made Me Do It".

These killings won't stop because the people who do these acts of evil are beyond reason...they are animalistic, robotic, soulless losers who kill others because all they know is to kill. They have no idea of what it means to actually use your freakin' brain and THINK for a minute about what they are doing.

The sickest part of it all, is they actually think God condones this kind of behavior. God is mortified at what they are doing; they are breaking every 'rule' there is...they are murdering people, including...THEMSELVES! You think God likes watching these people destroy their lives like this?? You think he likes people taking their own lives, while taking innocent people with them....in His name??!!

These morons actually beleive they are accomplishing something good here. Tsk, tsk, tsk....there is a Hell, you know. And these people know that fact all too well right now. Hope it was worth it.

And to take the lives of.....children??!! Ugh, it's just sickening. There's no difference between these parents who raise their kids to be walking bombs (great parenting, dickheads) and any other parent who raises their kids to hate. It's a vicious circle that has to be stopped. These parents need to get it through their thick heads that you don't raise kids to be an instrument of murder. Until these people start using an ounce of common sense and compassion, many more kids will become bombs.

I hoe God can send some much-needed grace down here.

Quite true Dave. Considering that religion is "supposed" to be a comfort and a staff to support yourself on, 99.999999999999999% of misery in this world is caused by arseholes acting in the name of it. These people give truly spiritual and caring people a bad name and it ain't fair!

My crystal ball works just fine, thank you very much...

You'll note that none of the homicide bombers have come from Gaza, which is fenced off from Israel with a Berlin Wall.

Now the Israelis are building a fence along the Green Line in the West Bank, just as I predicted. From the description, it sounds like the Iron Curtain border fences. Only 72 miles so far out of 200 or so, but they're just starting - give them time. After that, they'll have to run all of the ragheads out of Israel. This will have four consequences:

(1) Israelis will have to clean their own toilets.

(2) The homicide bombings will stop.

(3) Israeli voters will be far less likely to favor continuing military intervention (and attendant casualties) in the West Bank, just to protect Israeli colonists.

(4) Those colonists will have to fort up, or pull up stakes and resettle in Israel.

Maybe this will bring peace of a sort - Arabs unable to get at Israelis, and Israel no longer supporting an occupying army on the West Bank. Stay tuned.

The Death's in Israel

Unfortunately it is a never ending cycle, like the image of the snake eating it's own tail. The only way to break the cycle is for one side to not do what comes naturally, retaliate.

What Israel has been doing is wrong, they have violated human rights left and right, but they were lead to that solution by the never ending violence.

Unfortunately I cannot support the actions of Israel or the Palestinians. Both have valid claims but the bloodshed isn't worth it.

Also I hope in this type of discussion we can break from racial slurs. It is interesting how we seperate Israeli's from the rest of the middle east by refering to everyone else as arabs. It is labeling and dividing like this that makes things worse.

It wasn't the best deal but Arafat had the best deal he ever could get at the moment and he walked away from it. Instead of taking it and then building from there, he wanted all or nothing. Well he got nothing like he asked.

Any person can die for a cause, but only a strong person can live and make a difference.
