What cultural fads and trends have you missed and then tried to jump on when it was too late? Have you had that friend who secretly hates your guts who turns to you and says, "Ta, gosh...that was like...so yesterday!"?

I myself do not miss cultural fads or trends. I create them.

hmm i was sort of young for the hippie generation...still in grade school...then i started wearing my hair parted in the middle, and wearing fringe vest type thingies..it was going great until the neighborhood nosy ass busy body women said that i reminded them too much of the women who followed Charles Manson around..so mom made me change my hair...crap...

I have not missed any because i pay scant attention to them.

I am not a fad person. I wear whatever I want. I am different and proud of it. 🙂

Being different itself is a fad. Separating yourself from what already seems to be a culturally diverse society we live in is itself probably the biggest fad of all.

Be proud though Texastickler, cuz you don't sound like you're missing the bus. You sound like you wanna drive the bloody thing.

I only like things after they become popular.

There was a time when I would explore to find great new music, or authors, or whatever.

Now, with work, I just don't have the time. I wait for other people to sort through all the crap, announce what is good, and then I will try it out. Some I like, and some I don't. I didn't start seriously watching The Sopranos til like season 3 or something. Who cares, good is good and being hip is an adolescent concern.

As for clothes, I don't bother trying. I would like to be in style, but I have no sense whatsoever. Therefore I just try to dress in a way that won't actually offend anyone's taste (and still probably fail since I spend much time in the east village).

By the way, Xion, you know I love you, and shrooms are wicked great, but that sig is gonna give me a seizure 🙂

Only part of the trendy bus I've picked up on is the spare tire. :disgust:

Oh, man... I had a jheri curl when it was a tad out of style (1990). Since I had one for so long, I didn't know any other look, at least for myself. It took me a while to get out of the curl phase and get into the flattop phase. Afterwards, I was no longer afraid of the rain. 😀

Thanks. I do. LOL. I will share though.
