    I thought quantum fluxuations were amplified during inflation, allowing for the structure of the universe to form. I didn't think that they were causal, unless there's something I'm missing (entirely possible as I'm just an amateur). When I've heard about quantum fluxuation, it's generally been in the context of the cration of virtual particles and such.

I have been getting into physics and astronomy as of late, especially the search for exoplanets and reading about the possibility of the Big Bang originating from the collision of branes.
