I'm not sure how to insert a link to this article, but here's the url for where I found it (besides this morning's paper) http://www.comcast.net/news/index.jsp?cat=GENERAL&fn=/2007/07/18/717831.html&cvqh=itn_cat

So, if I read the story right, a trapper catches some kittens, intending to have them fixed and hopefully find homes for them..and most of them are stolen (I gotta wonder what he was thinkin, leavin them on his front porch. Oh well, at least he was just trying to help the kittens)

Then two 15yr old "girls" (I think a more accurate term for them would be "bitches" or shitheads" or ..well, I'm sure you'll think of your own descriptions for them), pour some flammable liquid onto the kitten , set him on fire...AND WERE LAUGHING ABOUT IT!! :Grrr: :Grrr:

Those two little shits are lucky it was just an 11year old boy and his friend who heard them laughing and the cat shrieking in pain. Anyone ever does that to any one of my pets, by the time I'd be through with them, they wouldn't even dare look at an animal wrong.

The two assholes deserve to have happen to them what they did to the kitten--be locked in a cage and set on fire.

Hopefully whatever jail they're at has lots of animal lovers, so they can at least get their asses kicked. :Grrr: :Grrr: :Grrr:

Little tramps.

Here's to jailing them for a few years then turning them over to me for use as tickle torture slaves for the REST OF THEIR LIVES.

Dirty little bitches! I hate animal cruelty. I say, adult jail for them for a few years, forget JV Hall. That's too good for them. Maybe they have to see how it feels to suffer, so they'll never do that to a poor defenseless animal again!

I was told that people who abuse animals usually turn out to be murderers and psychos.... :scared:

I think those girls are horrible! This is a disgrace! 😡 Why on earth would they do this to a sweet kitten? They should both be locked in jail. In my opinion, they're psycho :ranty:.

Yup. That's part of the "Triad" you learn about in Criminal Psych classes. Bed wetting, cruelty to animals, and fire starting are all signs of poor impulse control and children that display all three tend to grow up to be pretty fucked up adults. Most serial murderers will admit to having those traits as children...

I wet the bed until I was about 9 years old.

Around the same time, I was not very nice to the pets.

Also, I started a fire with a match and a christmas tree in the living room of my mom's apartment.

I R TEH C3R34L MURD3R3R!!!!

Seriously, Viper. o_o I we the bed until I was maybe 8 or so, and I used to torture spiders and insects, plus I used to shoplift. But I got over all of those. I don't deny that I might be messed up, but...

Now I wish I hadn't read that. 😛

This is another example of how we, as parents, are failing our daughters. (Now before everyone jumps on me, I'm not talking about "we" as in the people in this cyber-room, but "we" as a society in general.)

You see it everywhere. Rather than teach our daghters to be decent people, we plop them in front of thier computers, give them cell-phones with the ability to text anyone anything they want at any time.

How many of us know little girls who, at this point, are not only spelling like they do while texting, but are even starting to talk in abbreviated terms.

I don't want to get too far off the subject of this thread, but I feel it has merit. Our kids need a license to drive a car, need to be a certain age to drink or smoke, or to see an R or NC-17 movie. However, they can, at ages even ten and under, have access to the entire world and be trusted with that? We are breeding a generation of children (boys included, not just the girls) that is weaned on Jackass, YouTube videos of people bashing each other with bats and game shows that humiliate people...all to make money from those text charges where they can continually vote for thier favorite worm-eater or wanna-be pop star.

Parents, people...it is our responsibility to raise our children properly. It is not about how easy we can make it on ourselves. Yes, you have things to do in this ever-increasing world of competitive productivity. Very easy to get your kid out of your hair by sitting them in front of thier computer, or letting them run off and text thier friends (usually who are within walking distance) endlessly. Think about this...While you are sitting in fromt of the TV, your kid is watching video of kittens being burned, of kids beating the shit out of each other (a lot of girls posting vids like this, not just boys anymore), or some such depravity.

Keep your computers in a public place in your house. No kid needs a personal computer in the privacy of thier room until they are old enough to have earned your respect of thier level of responsibility. Keep the cell phones for the adults. Need to get a hold of your kid at school? Call the office like we did a mere ten years ago. Never had a problem with that. Like every other part of thier lives, they need to prove they are responsible enough to handle the things they are entrusted with. That is OUR responsibility to teach. Computers, blackberries and cell-phones are NOT toys! They are tools giving a child the capability of accessing the world and basing thier development and social skills on what they see.

Sorry for taking off on this, but I again feel it's important to why we are seeing more and more inhuman depravity from children...and more and more girls these days. What was once the occasional story of some bad boys causing trouble is now a daily dose of even our cute little girls setting kittens on fire and phone-recording groups of themselves beating up on the weaker.

And it's all there for them to see if we don't start taking some damn control over this plague of parental laxity.

I hope these girls get what is coming to them. No, I don't want to see them become the victims of violence, as do we really know who is responsible for them being like that in the first place? That being said, I want to see something more than a slap on the wrist and a bullshit child-psych anger management course.

Between this and the Mike Vick thing (and a story going on here locally about cat torture), I have really been appreciating my pets more. I can't give them everything I wish for at times, but at least they are loved and cared for.

To me, this isn't even about animals persay, it's about the degenerate minds of two sociopaths. What harm could a kitten have possibly done to them? You aren't exactly talking about a dangerous big lion, or even a biting snake, that could have caused them harm.
Even children can be taught to care about, and care for animals. I got my Golden Retriever when I was nine. My father had been bitten by a dog when he was young, and would not even consider the idea, until we worked on him, and finally he gave in. The Golden was the sweetest thing walking. Every day, I had to get up, feed her breakfast before school, walk her, and then walk her again in the the afternoon, feed her at night, take her out before bed, and the next day it started all over again. It's called humane treatment, and responsibility. Besides vet, dog food, and care bills, the only thing my parents helped me with in regard to that dog was giving her a bath, because at such a young age, they weren't sure I could do it properly. Even though she was a lot of work, and there were times I had to clean up her accidents, I loved that animal more than anything. I'd never have done anything to hurt her.
People that hurt animals make me go ballistic. I truly hope the judge throws the book at these little scumbags, and that they get sent to a place where they were spend a good long time, crying their eyes out about what they did!

Well at least that's all pets seem to want: food, shelter, and someone to hang with. So at least you're giving them what they want. 😀

On a lil bit of a lighter note, I gotta say...that's one freakin tough kitten! Almost burned to death, and yet after a few weeks he's playing around with toys instead of being afraid of everyone/everything.

True that he's still vunerable to infection cause of his open back wound, but even if he gets sick, I think the little guy will go down fighting.

One's brain chemistry isn't exactly 'finished' at 11. This does not excuse what the girls did... but hopefully, when they've finished growing, they won't be so inclined to do such things anymore. It is, fundamentally speaking, pure folly, to assume that the way a person's mind works at 11 *won't* change by the time they're 18... or 21...

I don't think a lifetime of punishment is appropriate.

I do think something unique, creative... and appropriate... should be thought up. Something which would hopefully drive the point home in a way that doesn't simply further reinforce their behavior by causing them to think poorly of the people who find it disgusting.

I have an axe smashed into my door, which I will use on anybody who harms my cats. Same goes for these morons.

I think instead of what we would all like to see happen, something else would be good -
Wherever these girls go to school, make sure the entire school knows about what they did and who they are.

They would wish they were in hell.

The girls who did this were 15.

Dave2112!

People always say kids don't come with an instruction manual. All of my friends have kids and almost all of them are doing a LOUSY job of it, the kids are total shits, and I'm not talking about the normal moody teenage stuff. I'm talking about telling them to fuck off and stealing the car, pulling crap like this. Their parents spend too much $ on them, not enough time with them and ask why they've grown into disrespecful, thankless, lazy morons. "It's of your own doing" I always tell them. "You spoiled them and now they're monsters." We had to go OUTSIDE to play, spent most of Saturday doing chores. If we talked BACK, we got BACKhanded and we only got driven to school if we missed the bus or the bike had a flat tire.
If you published your parenting thoughts in a book Dave, you'd make a fortune and the world would be a better place.

XOXO

Odd... I wonder why I thought they were 11.

Where are my pills..? My pills... Pills...

The same idea applies, though. They'll be different when they're 18, 21, 25... they might not be any better than they are now, but then again, they just might be.

I just don't think a lifetime of punishment, even as expressed by the outraged animal lovers amongst us, is appropriate, nor do I think "turn them over to me for some serious tickling" is either appropriate as a response to the situation, nor as a response to this thread (actually, I think that's pretty sick).

A young girl who lives in a trailer park a couple of towns away from me was hospitalized with severe burns, not too long ago (i.e. within the last couple of years): she had head lice, and her mother decided to use gasoline on her head to kill them. The girl went outside later, and combusted. Now, get this: the woman claimed she did this because it worked when a friend of hers did the same thing a few years ago... but <I>the same thing had happened to this friend's daughter.</I>

Where's the outrage over this? Does the fact that the woman was not so much psychopathic as blatantly fucking retarded make any difference regarding what her child went through?

People are in a frenzy that the girls in this news item did something <I>to poor, defenseless kittens.</I> I've seen a lot of these threads lately. They're terribly one-sided, and it's all about the 'poor, defenseless animals,' not even so much about what was done to them. People seem completely ready to throw away two human children who may have serious issues, who may have God-knows-what going on, <I>who may be completely repairable</I>, in favor of being outraged over animal cruelty.

Don't get me wrong; I love animals. I get along well with every animal on Earth except for my parents' cat... and there are days when I'd happily light her on fire, the only thing that stops me being that I'm pretty sure that this cat, being from Hell originally, is fireproof (I've more than once run to the bathroom literally dripping (my) blood in a trail behind me from an attempt to give the cat a treat, sort of a diplomatic mission, or to feed her, or encourage her to use the litterbox instead of pissing on the wall).

I simply believe that we shouldn't put our fellow human beings behind animals, a trend that a lot of animal welfare people seem to encourage. We are our own animal species; we are a part of nature. Lions do not put the welfare of antelope ahead of their own kind, and why should they? The opposite extreme... slaughtering and disregarding animals completely, behaving as the two girls in this news item did, is also hideously inappropriate, but that doesn't mean we need to put animals on pedestals. Kittens are cute. Kittens are cuddly. They are wonderful. They grow up into slightly less wonderful, but still overall awesome, cats, which make entertaining semi-companions with no regard for us humans whatsoever save as a food source or a door opener. They aren't worth killing people over.

Maybe you got them confused for the 11yr old boy who reported the girls. (I'll bet the boy'll never want to harm an animal after seeing what happened to the kitten. )
