So many people like to play games and/or pose as females when they're not. If that's the case, then don't waste my time by replying.

However if you are legit, I'd very much like to hear from you and get to know one another even if we never meet. I have no idea what sort of schedule flight attendants keep.

( I dont exactly know how to respond to this persons message. Do I feel insulted? or flattered that he took the time to message me? )

My scheduale is such that i have a very hard time actually making the time to respond to many of the wonderfull messages I have already recieved, allthough I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to P.M. me : ) . Some of the messages are absolutely incredible! I promise that as soon as i get a weekend where I am not so busy I will take the time to respond.

I sent a message to you, too, but I'm in no hurry to receive a response. I had a flight attendant as a client and believe me, she spent more time in the air than on solid ground. If people complain because you haven't replied to their PM, I'd say they've got waaaay too much time on their hands.

Sovry, I think you should feel flattered. I know the message is kind of accusing(is that correct gramatically? I have no idea) but there are a lot of people that do pretend to be females, so some are a little wary. Personally, I tend to wait to get know someone better before sending them a PM.

Sovry, this is my observation on your post.

I would say that the message sent to you was devoid, of, shall we say, tact. When I message a female, I dont say in my message, "if you are a real female, then answer me, if not, dont bother." The delivery of the sender of that message was way off base. If the gender says female and I want to talk to someone, I just do so, and dont bother thinking about whether or not the person is "real" or not. If she says female, I go with it, and dont spend a lot of time thinking otherwise.
That being said, I can also say that on the net in general, it does happen from time to time where there is a question of gender. You are female, I believe you when you tell me that, as well as others who tell me their gender. Iam not naive, but rather, choose not to put people on the spot by accusing them of being something that they are not. I would say, that while the message was devoid of tact, and could have been delivered in a better manner, you arent the first girl Iam certain to receive a question of skepticism of gender, and you wont be the last. When I leave a message, for whoever it is, I'll just say: "Nice to meet you, welcome, this is a bit about me. I hope to hear from you at some point telling me a bit about yourself". It is less of a way of putting people on the spot.
I dont agree with how the message was written, and I never write any message in such a way. Unfortunately, this does happen from time to time. As to whether or not to reply to the message, that is up to you. Iam just stating my observation of such. I dont agree with a message like that, but, unfortunately, it can happen from time to time, not only on TMF, but on other sites as well, as this is the way of the internet, I think.

Sovryticklish, I wouldn't feel insulted, even though as others have stated, he needs to have written it more sensitively, tactfully, eloquintely (sp?). On the other hand, the anonomity of the internet allows people to be other people while dealing with others for positive and negative reasons.

Just adding my two cents for what it's worth (probably less than 2 cents).

I agree that this was not worded as tactfully as it should have been. Still, be flattered, as it is a lot better than the alternative. Still, in terms of how you want to follow-up with this, I think you have to do what in your heart feels right.

And, BTW, if the individual who sent you the PM checked the TMF member pcitures section of this board (and I realize this is far from the point), he would have found out that you are a very attractive female.

ASU, there may be some truth to that, but after having met a female TMF member in person (Molly T) I can guarantee you that a lot of the women here are in fact women! I've talked to Steph and Kitten on the phone and it is impossible for anyone who has an Adam's Apple to sound as sexy, lovely and feminine as those two do.

Having just read this thread, I still can't believe this entire hullabaloo over what was a PRIVATE message to “sovryticklish”. I admit I have a major pet peeve in regards to posers (men who pretend to be women) and I should learn to be more trusting toward people and give them the benefit of the doubt in this regard. Having said that, I guess I’m guilty as charged for not using more ‘tact’ as some users have suggested. I appreciate those who replied and were on the ball enough to realize that my PM wasn’t meant as an insult. Unless of course, I am right and this person is a poser.

What really bothers me about all this, and kind of makes me feel somewhat justified in my accusatory tone toward you, is how you decided to handle my PM. If you didn’t know whether to feel flattered or insulted, then why didn’t you simply ask ME?????? I wrote it. I know what I meant. But instead of taking the direct route with me, you decided to go PUBLIC with this and make a spectacle out of the whole thing. Sure I could have been a lot nicer in my PM and I probably should have, but my lack of tact didn’t justify all of this BS.

I did check out this person's picture prior to contacting them. The woman in the picture is very beautiful indeed. However posting a picture does not by any means guarantees this is the same person using the screen name. I do not believe the moderators of TMF have anyway of verifying such things. I’m just making a point so don’t go getting your hackles up over this. It’s all good and thanks for the input. I’m just way too skeptical I guess and this is something I’m going to have to work on.

But don't get mad at her, she probably doesn't know anyone from the TMF community (assuming) so thought to ask the majority of us. She could have left your name out but she probably didn't think about it and just posted. She did say she was busy and in a hurry you just post and go.

I guess everytime I see a pretty photo of a gal posted as a member, I don't PM them cuz guys will flood their inbox. Well on rare occasion I will but not when they first post, I wait to see how their personality shows on the boards. Like Steph, she's a doll!

A couple of things come to mind here:

ONE:

If I were a flight attendant (not stewardess mind you!) based out of Oakland, I would fly as much as possible away from there as well.

TWO:

This gentleman is 5' nothing and weighs 220? Um....I'll be politically correct and say maybe that thyroid problem should be checked on his part.

THREE:

A word about Pms and the Internet, suspicions, etc...Now, I agree this guy's name should have been kept private in the original post. On the other hand, I see the other side to. I think if you're wise, ya have to be cautiously optimistic that people are who they say they are, that they look like the pic they posted, etc.

Grain of salt, people, it'll go along way, at least until you get to meet in real life, as many of us have.
There are what I call "posers" all over the place, and a little suspicion seems justifiable, but I wouldn't let the perceived Internet personnas rule your thoughts. sometimes people are exactly who they say they are. And some times, they're not. Period.
