Forgive the impersonal nature of posting this here. But, time is short and I wanted to be sure to not miss anyone.

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of those who've been taking time to pray and send their support to us during my mom's struggles with cancer. Her battle is over now. She went home to the Lord on Sunday evening. Her passing was beautiful and peaceful and very comforting to us.

We're home to repack and things before going back for the services, which won't be until this coming Sunday/Monday so that out of state family members can get here. I'd like to request that people not try to call. We have a lot going on, people we're still trying to reach, etc. So, we need to keep the phonelines open. If anyone wishes to send an e-mail, that's fine. But, know that we're doing well. We're too busy rejoicing for her to be very sad for ourselves.

My presence here will continue to remain sporadic for a while. I'll be back and forth to upstate NY to give my dad a hand clearing things out and sorting through some of the many things she saved over the years. Now I know where I get the inclination to be a pack rat. The difference is that she was an organized one. lol

I'll be posting some reflections on my myspace page at some point today. So, if you wonder how we can be rejoicing, you'll see the reason there.

Thank-you again to all who have and continue to give us your support. That's what community is all about.

EDIT: For anyone who may like to see it, here's the link to my comments on my myspace page... http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=113547744&blogID=330663207

*sigh*

To those from whose eyes the veil of life has fallen, let there be granted the accomplishment of their true Wills; whether they will absorption in the Infinite, or to be united with their chosen and preferred, or to be in contemplation, or to be at peace, or to achieve the labour and heroism of incarnation on this planet, or another, or in any Star, or aught else, unto them may there be granted the accomplishment of their wills; yea, the accomplishment of their wills.

Blessed Be, Ann.

As one who has a mother who battled cancer a few years back, I am sorry for your loss. But I agree with your "rejoicing for her"...I know she is happy now.

All the best to your family.

I hear ya!

By the time came for my mom to go, I was begging God (insert diety here______) and thanking Him that he finally took her and gave her peace.

I am sorry for your loss Ann and your family is in my thoughts.

So sorry for your loss Ann. You and your family are always in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry for your loss, Ann, and I do understand the relief when a loved one is finally at peace (from my father's final illness in 1997). May all of your family find comfort in this time of grief.

I'm so sorry Ann, she's been suffering so long. But I guess you all have been haven't you? I am glad she's on to a better place with no more agony. Take care of you (and Drew too of course!)
XOXO

Our thoughts are always with you, no matter what. If you need anything, you know where we are.

Thanks, folks.

Though she struggled on and off for 21 years, and steadily for the last 5, she was never completely debilitated. Nor was she in enough pain that they couldn't keep her comfortable. In fact, they'd just started her on morphine a couple of days before she collapsed. (We initially thought that was what had caused it since she doesn't tollerate it well.) Her main battle was against fatigue. So, it seems that my biggest prayer was answered...that He would take her Home before she had a chance to get to the point of any real amount of pain. We're greatful for that and that she can finally rest.

I know she's there celebrating with all the other loved ones who've gone before us! That's definately cause to rejoice.

I met Ann's mom 8 years ago.......she was the most incredible person. You could not have asked for a more kind, gentle, and caring woman to spend time with, laugh with, or talk to. Though I wish we had more time together, my life is so much more fulfilled knowing her......and knowing that her wonderful spirit is still with us, watching over us.

I'm so sorry for you loss but I'm go glad she had a kind and gentle passing into God's loving arms.

The ability to turn around such a tragic event into a joyful celebration is a wonderful gift that you are giving your mom in her passing and your dad as he comes to terms with her being gone. Living through a similar situation a few years ago I know the true joy you feel in your heart and soul knowing she is out of her failing body and whole again with a spirit free to wrap you in her loving guidance from the heavens above.

Please take some time to relax yourself. It's important for you and for your family that you get time to take care of yourself and I know your mom would want it that way as well.

Take care love.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother and my thoughts go towards you. Take care and God bless.

I'm quite speechless especially that we have the same episode this month. While I have started to recover from our family loss, now I really would like to extend the condolence. It will be better next time, words are not enough to give comfort, but it's the best I can give.

My thoughts are with you at this difficult time for you. I hope you are both ok and bearing up.

All my best from across the pond.

Deepest sympathy for your loss, but deepest admiration for your philosophy Ann. My thoughts and love are with you both. 🙂

Sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. She is in a better place now--no pain. My condolences to you and your family.

Drew and I just got back from my Dad's. Mom's funeral was this morning. (We waited to give family time to get in.) It was a beautiful tribute to a beautiful woman.

I'd like to once again thank all those who've sent their prayers and best wishes...esp. those of you who are still dealing with your own loss. We can all rejoice together that our loved ones are at peace.

God bless you Anne, and Drew that was a really cool sentiment. I'm sure that when her time came, Anne's Mom left with pride in her daughter and comfort in knowing she married a good man. You two are awesome.

I am so sorry for your loss Anne. I know that your Mom suffered a very long time but at least she's in peace now and in a better place. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you can find peace with this in time :twohugs:.

You know where we are hon......See you soon....

Yes. I DO know where you are! hehe :firedevil

Thanks again, everyone. I appreaciate the support. I'm actually doing quite well now that I know she's okay and doesn't have to struggle any more. I was having a much more difficult time dealing with the fact that there was nothing I could do to really help her. Now that she's at peace, so am I.

I'm very sorry to hear of this, catching this post, though I was at least "glad" to read that your mother was not in terrible discomfort, that must be a great consolation. And glad there is peace.
As others have said, she was very, very lucky to have you, Ann, and your husband and family. She and you are all in my/our thoughts and prayers.
